I think a human and miqote relationship is not similar. Because theyre both humanoid with extremely advanced reasoning abilities. While we, in real life, as humans, are the only ones are like this. No Miqote in realife. Its what differs really.

Yes it is a parents responsibility to monitor their child's online activities but anyone who is a parent knows it is very difficult and any of you who become parents will find out for yourselves how troubling online relationships can be with teenage children especially.

I played FFXI with my two daughters for many years and I had to set quite a few players straight about some of the inappropriate behavior and attention given to my younger daughter especially. Again, I fully realize it was my responsibility to monitor it and ultimately my "fault" for allowing them to play in the first place, but my point is that these dangers already exist without the added pressure of "kids" wanting to "marry" someone they met in an online game.

This can and many times does lead to not just hurt feelings but can lead to Bullying and even Stalking (both cyber and real life).
I just don't want anything in this game that encourages that sort of behavior so please just leave Marriage out of it.

I really see this as the woes of a protective father, but you have to look at the facts. Most children are exposed to ideas of marriage from birth given the fact that most children are the product of a married couple and are raised by, guess what? A married couple. Does this mean we need to start protecting children from married couples? Asking for them to not have it for the sake of hiding fantasy video game marriage from them is one of the most absolutely ridiculous things you can do.

It's not bad to subject children to ideas of marriage because it's just so normal, so mundane they already know about it. I mean I can even remember being a small child playing with dolls pretending to marry them and I didn't get those ideas from a video game and none of those ideas hurt me as a child.

If you don't agree with it, tell your kids not to do it or don't let them play the game and as one of the above post says, this is one of the smallest things you can even complain about. There are much worse things in this game. At most you should ask for parental control over such things, not restrict it to everyone.

Lets not let people drive cars too cause then they would drink and drive?

"Teenagers"? Teens are already having sex, smoking pot, getting drunk, dropping acid etc. etc. just like many of us did when we were teens. The only thing you can do to prevent them from making mistakes in the above categories is education and exposure. Teach by example not by pacifism because come 18 they will fail at life without the daddy/mommy tank keeping hate off em.

My point here it that SE is not doing a species segregation marriage so why do it based on gender. This is a game at the end of the day it really does not matter.

Lets remember that if OSM only happens that just means that there will be a number of character that will be OS but the actual player being SS. At the end of the day it really does not matter.

The only thing that will matter is that if there are special bonuses attributed to marriage in-game. If that is the case then preventing SSM in game would at that point become a political football. It would be biased and would make real people have to create new character just to follow a rule to receive the bonuses.....Now how is that fair and balanced?

If they close this thread, I WILL make another one until I'm banned. Close them because they're redundant, sure. But don't close these threads to silence the issue. The majority want SSM in the game and as I said earlier, there are games out there that (Rift, Cloud Nine, etc) have already implemented this and I have not seen any backlash.
