Also, so with 1 skill speed, it gives .146 damage boost? Or just makes your cd's faster?
No, that post was talking about the race for second place.
This is still the highest modeled DPS:
H IDC P TTT H TTT
P IDC H TTT P TTT
This is second:
HP IDC TTT
Jump 250, FT 330, minimal animation lock, 5% HT boost, powered up CT and Ph. . . Everyone is saying that Mnk made out like bandits, but idk. I'm loving all the new toys on Drg more than the Mnk ones.
General in-game observations point to Jump still being 200p with the tooltip being inaccurate.
E.g. it does pretty much the same damage as a combo'd Vorpal.
Sidenote: makes me wonder about FT. Should test >.>
been skimming through it, but havent seen anything. any rough estimate on how much %-wise of a DPS boost dragoons got? (also monks if you have it easymode). Havent raided yet this week and know my blackmage took a hit. Very possible ill be busting out my dragoon again (since we dont have a dragoon ive been getting all the dragoon gear :) )
I agree that Jump is still at 200p. Mine is still doing around 700 no-crit damage, a little more than pre-patch due to the 5% buff from HT (think its more than that, but I'm not paying attention to non-crit numbers a ton TBH). FT definitely got a buff, with a crit is now at about 1250-1300 (highest I've seen is 1307, but I haven't been able to really test much yet, compared to my pre-patch max of 1126.)
I can also confirm the Full Thrust buff. In Turn 2 last night I pulled off a fully buffed 1479 critical. Pre-patch I was doing around 1050 under the same conditions. Jump is definitely still 200 potency. My current numbers reflect the 5% increase from Heavy Thrust.
Also been doing FT in the 14##'s so i think it is correct.
I'm estimating 8%-ish total for Dragoons (ran the same rotation with same stats through the old and new models), although that is a slight underestimate because it doesn't include the pre-patch Jump delaying the GCDs (e.g. jumps exceeded oGCD windows). I think net will be about 9% total, so close to Yoshi's 10% estimate.
Overall, good deal. Dragoon AOE also increased by 5% (HT buff).
Don't have Monk estimates for pre- and post-patch. I'm estimating Monks as about 8% higher ST DPS than DRGs post-patch, though. So, actually pretty good parity when you consider DE for the Bard.
Monks retain the better utility with the Int debuff and traited Mantra, but DRGs maintain higher burst and more resilience against mechanics.
H = Heavy Thrust
P = Phlebotomize
IDC = Impulse Drive, Disembowel, Chaos Thrust
TTT = True Thrust, Vorpal Thrust, Full Thrust
Hey guys, a quick question for more exp dragoons.
I'm about to hit 50 and have been researching gear trying to figure out the best path for upgrade. I've got most of the DL jewelry, mixture of maiming/striking for accuracy, and a full AK set. I'm not able to equip everything yet to see what the total stats look like, but it seems like only a few DL pieces have accuracy, and really only a few myth pieces. I understand there is a chunk of accuracy on the relic (and also some nice acc stats on the new CT gear), but are their any suggestions for upgrade paths? I'm not thrilled about upgrading to DL, aside from 2 pieces there isn't that much str/vit boost over AK gear. Would AK gear + DL jewelry be enough to get through Titan HM for relic? Any suggestions are appreciated! :D
(PS thanks for the awesome rotations guide, it's nice how all the DoTs and buffs seem to line up perfectly with the right rotation)
@ Whiskeybravo
So long as you meet the new minimum avg. item level requirement for Titan, you're golden. You can get the new gear from HM Haukke Manor and Copper Bell Mines. I want to say the ilvel 60 gear that was in AK is now in the new Pharos dungeon.
They're in Haukke and Copperbell as far as I've seen. Along with some new pieces. They look to be spread out between dungeons now.
Thanks, I forgot about the ilvl requirements now. I got a few new pieces from Copperbell HM, pretty much the same stats as AK just shuffled around a bit. I was mainly concerned about the DL, as 2 points doesn't seem worth it for the upgrade when loosing the accuracy. I guess I'll just have to wait to equip everything and see what can be improved from there. Trying to save myth for +1 whm and War uppers. The CT gear looks good but only 1 chance a week to get loot? That's gonna take longer than myth lol
Can someone explain to me the difference between stat weights and item budget weights?
I see the stat weights listed as:
STRDEX 1
DTR** 0.209
CRT 0.179
SS 0.158
Item budget weights:
DTR 2.28
CRT 2.86
SS 2.55
I'm not sure how the item/stat weight works, but could someone compare my current set with BIS. I'm slowly working towards BIS, but I would Like to know how my current set compares. I'm not sure if it works like this or which info to give, but curent stats with it equipped:
STR 474; ACC 486; Crit 487; Det 300; SS 441 +Zenith for WD (46); If possible I'd like to know the damage loss I'm taking in percentage.
get your gae bolg +1 and the myth armor as fast as possible, try to get a coil group and some coil drops, myth shoes are a good decision too since the allagan ones are only obtainable via turn 5
you'll never really have accuracy problems, I'm sitting at like 530 acu with full ilvl90 gear and just wait since 2 monaths for some coil drops to replace some of the myth pieces ~_~
Stat weights are how much "dps value" each point of stat is worth (note: the # itself does NOT equal DPS). However, gear doesn't have stats in equal amounts. If you notice for example, two pieces of similar gear will have 16 crit rating or 11 determination. E.g. SE decided that 16 crit and 11 determination "use up" the same amount of item "budget" / space.
So if you take the stat weights (per point) for each stat, and multiply it by expected item budget amounts, the result is a number that you can use as a general guide for "which stat dump on items will give me more DPS".
Specifically with these results, you should aim for crit gear first, followed by SS followed by DTR*.Quote:
Item budget weights:
DTR 2.28
CRT 2.86
SS 2.55
* As always, with the caveat that no one knows the exact formula for DTR so it might be slightly better than rated and SS has its own constraints and may be slightly poorer than expected based on TP / DoT simulation.
I do not use fracture. I have too much SS to make it desirable.
Honestly, with CT no longer clipping I took Fracture off my bar entirely. Was only using it as filler anyway.
I'm thinking Mantra would be good to have, but the prospect of leveling MNK to 42 just doesn't seem fun
I leveled MNK just because I wanted to have it at 50 as an alt spec, but I wouldn't bother getting Mantra is leveling it isn't fun to you. I have Mantra on my bar and pop it just for posterity in high damage situations but that 5% healing really doesn't make much difference.
So Does adding 1 point of skill speed actually increase damage by .146? or just lower your cooldowns.
I'm debating whether to use allagan/myth accesories or get 5 meld i70 accesories, in order to do the damage calculation i want to know if 1 point of skill speed actualyl adds damage or just lowers cd.
They didn't fix lvl.50** foods in 2.1 patch.
HQ Apkallu Omelette (lvl50**) gives you +4% Critical Buff. I think, maximum base Critical you can get so far is about 450-480. So HQ Apkallu Omelette would give you +18-19 to Critical.
HQ Deviled Eggs (lvl46) gives you +5% which equals to +22-24 Critical buff. Accuracy buff is pretty much the same with those two.
Best in Slot with new weights from EMX and factoring in food below:

Dang, so much Myth armor. Wishing I wouldn't have taken off for a while, now, haha x__x PS3 was not having a good time with instance servers for some reason, and I took some time off until I built my new gaming PC. Blah.
Yeah I'm personally annoyed as well because I prefer the look of most of the Allagan gear (aside from the chest).
I'm going to have to do some soul-searching to see whether I can justify the look (and cost) of all the Myth slots for like +1 DPS.
Aesthetics versus marginal DPS. I CAN'T DECIDE*.
*At least I can procrastinate on any decision until I actually, you know, see/get the Allagan spear, otherwise the point is moot.
I only use it if I see that I have a little extra time on my rotation. Such as, I have 9 seconds left before Chaos Thrust wears off, then I use fracture before going into IDC to get a little extra DPS and not clip off the last tick of CT.
Omg you are clipping off like 1/2 of your CT dot dmg :[
Ha, I don't even have the H IDC P TTT H TTT etc rotation on auto pilot, yet. Being lazy and doing H IDC P TTT x__x
My only iLvl90 (besides Zenith) is belt right now. I wanted to do chest first, but I had a responsible-person-nervous-breakdown and bought belt before a Coil run to cap accuracy... Prolly woulda been fine without it. Oh well, Myth Chest next week.
At least I killed Good King Moogle Mog last night. There is too much stuff to do now! I'll probably be filling some slots with CT gear in the meantime, I hope it looks cool!
Oh dang, I'll buckle down and get comfortable with it, then. It's incredibly obvious, but I didn't even think about it that way. I was using it on Turn 4 the other night, but I ran into some brain farts while trying to offload OffGCD stuff. Still need to burn it all the way into my brain.
Are y'all using macros for OffGCD stuff? I had everything in the world macroed with HPF IDC TTT and have made myself lazy <__<
I have 1 oGCD macro with BFB, IR, Mercy Stroke, and Power Surge. I use that key to use the abilities, but I also have the abilities individually in a separate place on my UI so I can track their cooldowns (basically so I don't press the macro too many times and waste Power Surge).
Other oGCDs are not really on any macro.
