Also, it doesn't default to "You must skip cutscenes because you are the only new player in this party". It could very well be that at least 4 other people are willing to wait for cutscenes and only 3 don't wish to wait, but unfortunately, if one of those 3 players start a Vote Kick, it just needs 1 of the other 4 to accept to kick for whatever reason.
Why not instead, have a "Vote Wait" for cutscenes? I'm very confident that most of the time, people won't mind waiting and is only a few of them that will cry about being "forced" to wait. -

I think there are more people willing to wait than it seems. Most of the time people just follow the tanks, and if the tanks go, so too does everyone else. But if you actually TALK about it, most of the times you'll find that there are others in the group that don't mind waiting. It's just that people get caught up in the movement and following the group.
More times than not, it's not discussed at the start whether or not people should skip CS or not. It's not until the first CS or first boss when someone says "oh just skip it and watch it later". Then I will chime in and say, no let them watch and I don't mind waiting. I've had dungeons go either way with people joining me in waiting or just continuing on ahead. It depends who else is willing to wait - if me and the other healer are, then we're waiting. If the tanks wait, everyone waits. So really it depends on the people in those roles. Mobs are one thing, but to lock people out of boss fights on their first run is just plain mean. -

Even still...the guy who vote kicked and everyone who clicked "yes" are idiots....since you get a bonus to tomes when someone's new to the instance. Don't know why they'd want to throw that away. -

Statistically right now it is like 1 in 20 to get 1st timer in Praetorium. And it still more like 1 in 5 to see them in Sastasha. Statistically, unless SE is somehow growing the player base at exponential rates, anything less than that will inevitably lead to the simple fact that the percentage of new players relative to existing experienced it will always be diminishing. So it is easy to see how people can forget that the 1st-timers should be given special treatment, because they got so used to doing things without having a 1st-timer in their party.Quote:

If they made a PF party they would not get that, so would be no reason to do it. New players run them for the story and completing the 2.0 main questline. Something which you can still obtain when queing for the 2 dungeons as a pre-made party.Quote:

I don't see why people think they have an argument about wanting the group to skip cs in roulette... the whole reason it exist is to entice higher level players to help lower lvls doing it for the first time. That's what the rewards are there for, you're getting paid to wait for people watching cs and an inexperience run.
DF is a different issue in which case blame falls on both sides and an easy "can you skip cs?" Or "can i watch cs?" Conversation should happen. -

I am ok with both skipping CS and watching CS. People just need to be more informative and communicative by speaking out loud at start. It is nicer if the party can talk and agree on the method they want to use in the specific dungeon.
I've been in a Praetorium party where tanks never said a thing and just rushed forward to speedrun which resulted in many deaths. At the end it seemed counter-productive because we might actually lost more time than save time, due to all the deaths/wipes and returning and running back.
As a healer in Praetorium many times, I HATE, HATE, HATE it when the tank just rushed ahead and leaving 2 or 3 new players who watched CS behind, locking them out in many boss fights. Solo healing at bosses isn't impossible, but it is mentally brutal and extremely labour-intensive, especially when 2 other DPS are also locked out with the 2nd healer!
If everyone discuss and agree on whether we want speedrun or want to wait for people who watch CS, some members can just leave and find other Duty if the party agree on the method they really cannot accept. This would save more time and cause no hard feelings to anyone. -
