What things annoy you?

If the party is doing so badly that a red mage chaining Verraise is the only thing keeping them going, then there's a serious problem going on.

Also doesn't help that nobody ever seems to be grateful for it, or even so much as give a comm after being scraped off the ground six or seven times.

And it gets held up as a "utility" argument whenever anyone dares to suggest that red mage's personal DPS is too low.

I may be bitter.

If it makes you feel any better, yes, the healers and people getting hit by mechanics are the main problem.

It's not ALWAYS so cut and dry, though. I did a raid daily today where both healers died because one of the DPS got too close with the double-stackers and wound up killing 3 people. Now should those 3 people stay dead because one person made a mistake for 2 mechanic? I don't think so. So I raised them. Things went perfectly fine after that.

The annoyance is found from picking a class that has a raise and then deciding unilaterally that you're going to watch everyone die instead of play your class to its full potential and be a teammate, in fact being able to raise might be one of the reasons you were allowed to join the party/group.
Instead because your healers both decided to die to the same mechanic(s) we're just going to waste that entire pull because "but ma dps".

This isn't an argument for bad healers or players though, failing multiple mechanics is your fault but not raising one of the dead healers when they've only died once in the entire duty because you'd rather just keep dpsing is being a bad teammate even if your healers are bad. If you don't want to take the responsibility of having a raise then don't play classes that have raises. Healers have the same responsibility for having to heal people who take unnecessary damage.

These one-off instances doesn't address the actual problem. Should rdm/smn use all their tools like any other job to help the party? Yes and no one is actually arguing against that. The problem is getting the blame for not carrying a group that made too many mistakes.

Again, this sounds more like a group having mechanical issues than anything else. Are we talking about normal content where it doesn't matter if half the party is dead or ex/savage? It also literally doesn't matter in any content if you wipe a few times. If you don't want your time wasted, tell the people that are having issues in the first place to correct themselves.

If this is the attitude then everyone may as well take raise off their hotbar, healers included.

I want to clarify that I don't mind raising people once or twice in a run. But when I start to feel more like a squeegee than a caster, only to get "lulz rez mage" thrown in my face as if that's somehow supposed to be my entire role, it gets very annoying. 90% of my Vermilion Scourge casts are in retaliation for it, because if I have to suffer, your eyes can join me.

Guys, remember you can be annoyed by something even if it's not entirely logical to be annoyed by it or if you know there may be a logical reason behind it.

I get annoyed when I hit the log in queue, but I know it's there for a reason. I'm annoyed that the game is down for patching and server maintenance, but I know why it has to be.

Just because someone gets annoyed that a red mage doesn't rez, doesn't mean they aren't aware that the lack of a raise may have been for a logical reason.

Making a mistake is fine. Refusing to raise because you just feel it's not something you should be doing is something else.

And as an aside, people still get yelled at for making a mistake. Nobody's immune to that.

When I play RDM, I only start helping on raising if:

• Healer(s)' swiftcast is on cooldown and there are 2 or more players kissing the floor.
• Healer(s)' MP is running dangerously low.
• The raise is needed to prevent a wipe or serious damage to the party: i.e. only the main tank died but both healers' swift are down while boss is about to cast a tankbuster cleave or crucial mech like those in savage that requires 8 alive members (ugh.. looking at you: Ramuh's CL PTSD...).

Otherwise, no. Healers, hardcast your raise whenever you see fits. Especially if it's ASTs because they have much more leeway to res multiple times compared to other two.

I'm frankly getting dead sick of the Lalafell hate I see here and on other social media platforms.

I haven't played other healer roles other that AST (so not sure if they have a similar thing they can do), but AST can also pop Lightspeed for faster rezzing as well.

When a stranger assumes I saw the chat log and deliberately ignored them, but in reality I was completely unaware they were talking to me or maybe that they said anything at all. There's nothing like scrolling back through the log to figure out why some stranger is irate with you, lol.

What really will never cease to annoy me: players offering unsolicited advice and typing out paragraphs worth of every single mechanic in a piece of content after seeing a first timer, or sprout.

I just wish they'd assume that sprouts didn't suddenly gain attention spans proportionate to what those essayists see as need.

No veteran would want to read all that, so why should a Sprout who more than likely wants to experience that content fresh be expected to?

When I decide to sub to a new MMO, figuring those fights out is one of the things I am hoping to get for my money. That can be fun. Certainly more so than trying to match visuals to paragraph guides.

Exactly. I don't know about others, but I personally like to learn by doing, as a first timer. Not to mention a lot of these 'essayists' are failing mechanics, and not contributing to the fight(s), because they are typing so much out.

I more specifically hate when people saw that there are a few evil lalafells in the msq, so they hate all lalafells based on that. Like I seriously hope that's not how you judge people irl.

I think this is especially common with people who want to act like they're special and like their character is '' not like other girls '' ( lets be real here it's basically always directed against female characters ).

Basically they act as if they're super unique because their character wears the DRK or PLD artifact armor and can't stop talking shit about people who don't mog their character as covered in bulky plate or because they wear more feminine clothes.
Often times they'll play Roe or Highlanders and give people who play any of the others shit.
It's not just people who play female characters tho I just kinda find it more irritating when people do it as a way of trying to brag about how unique they supposedly are.

Like people can dislike what they want, I just don't understand why people feel like it's necessary to drag others down in the process.
It's like how when people supposedly want to ask for other character design options and 99.9% of what they say is only about saying derogatory things and trashing what they don't like.
I just question the motives at that point and it's completely unnecessary.
Just play your character as you want and leave other people alone... And if you feel like you want more options then insulting others and things you don't like is not a good way to go about it.
And just because something doesn't suit your personal tastes doesn't make it wrong or bad, and I think some ppl get rly hung up on it and then they feel like it's way more common than it actually is.

Just tired of this in general tho even outside of FFXIV, but this definitely is a thing in FFXIV and they come out of the woodworks sometimes.

-Beeing unable to 1v1 and perma steal items from lalafels in cities
-Clowns who wear something they deem "erotic attire", like 2b male or swimsuits on female while on battle content.
-SE, becouse they make this game look like clown fiesta with all the mishmash added.
-mounts that suits the setting, as good as strings suits an obese and hairy guy without pants in the middle of the town square, when its minus 15C.

I find the only thing that annoys me when playing the game is the map and navigation. If I am in a new district I can run around in circles trying to get to my destination. It's fine when I have become accustomed to the area but can be a struggle at first.

Fem highlander /furious works, iirc. It angrily kicks dirt. Just have your lala DRG curl up before you, knowing their place, and it looks decently interactive when paired with Elusive Jump.

Beyond that? I don't like how dead the world is now. Everybody levels via PotD or boosts. The 1-50 zones aren't quite a graveyard at midnight, but neither do they feel alive or vibrant like they used to. The unnecessary addition of flying was the nail in the coffin. Did we really need to hover 100 feet above these puny zones?

It wasn't like that the other day, at least on Famfrit. I saw tons of sprouts running around while I was on an alt helping my newbie friend through the story.

Not really annoying but amusing. Players who wear all black. Lol like seriously, there are so many different color combinations and glam options that you can use but everyone just results to the same bulky black attire. Don't even get me started with how everyone defaults to either black hair, white hair (why) or (eek) a combination of both. Everyone wants to look like Max Shreck apparently. I'm not judging. Too much. (Off topic; didn't feel a thread warranted it)

The main thing that's been annoying me lately though are just boosters who don't know their job but want to play the latest and greatest instead of going through the leveling experience and really getting that muscle memory built in. Like I have nothing against boosting, but it really hinders the group when you don't know what you're doing and just try to wing it. The amount of BRD's I see who have worked peloton into their combat rotation and let DoTs fall, WHM's who cast Holy in a corner away from everything or WHM's that just let the tank die just to squeeze in that last Glare is just driving me nuts.

Another thing is people not asking for help. Like I get what it's like to be the new player but please, if you don't understand something PLEASE ask for help. We aren't going to bite your head off if you need clarification on things. Far too many people say they understand something only to find out that they don't actually understand something and that's when people start to get the whole passive aggressive train rolling on the tracks.

I have a fun perspective on this: I've been accurately logging roulette duty pops, what role I was on, whether or not I opened with advice, and how many comms I got at the end.

I don't queue as DPS since I don't have all day, but I have over 2000 duties since the start of ShB logged and healer/tank is about 50/50 since I switch to what happens to give insta queues at the time.

Average comms when not offering "unsolicited advice" adjusted for 4-man vs 8-man duties: 1.07 comms.
Average comms when offering advice: 2.57 comms.

So, sorry if it annoys you but I'll take the chance that it *is* appreciated.

On-topic: My biggest annoyance is people shaming others for wanting to spend their time in the way they please, to the point of deliberately sabotaging dungeons to "show them." Yet another reason I never ever queue DPS, at least as a healer you can overcome their attempted sabotage.

Coming from wow the player base here is so much nicer. Not much annoys me but what really grinds my gears is parking mounts on quest givers.

Players (usually other sprouts) complaining that I’m not AOE on trash. Mostly because they don’t understand that some of the jobs don’t have AOE at lower levels.

And the only other one that kinda annoys me is the people who run to a fate and tag one mob and AFK or don’t do anything else.

There's certain players in the game who by and large don't remember what it's like to be at max level. These are usually players who have had every DoW/M/H/L class at level 80 since 5.1 at the latest. It's not always the case, but if you're dealing with someone who's complaining about a class with no AoE at a low level not using their AoE at that low level, you're probably dealing with one of these.
