SMN Why don't we hear about egi glamours anymore?

Completly reworking the job is what I personaly want to see.

Get rid of the dots and Fester and give it all to Scholar or a new dot focused job.
Get rid of the chicken nuggets and have us every 30/60 seconds a demi out.

We really don't need to have constantly a summon/pet out. Since they still struggle with the pet AI, just remove the pet part of job. Summons in other FFs were mostly only for a short while on the field, so it would still be a Summoner.

The game has carbuncle housing items and premium carbuncle glamours.
If you removed them from SMN... where would they go?
They wouldn't just axe them completely, they're too much a part of the world, plus the little things are pretty well loved amongst the player base, even if their AI isn't.

Not entirely, summoner could simply work like this, each abiltiys summons an egi that does a short animation for an attack or buff/debuff. Linking them to attacks or as proc to appear, maybe a stance what you want to focus on instead.

This way they could make new Egis attached to abilitys, simliar to Bahmut and Phoenix, with those staying a while they still would stand out, needing to focus on them to keep them up, while smaller ones you tap in to summon as an attack.

Speaking of, why does SMN not have a summon as Limitbreak 3? Feels off how he not got something realted to his job, just some fancy megaflare, which not feels that unique compared to others Limits.

It's been years, not months, years.... They've had years to have a dev sit down and make new egi glamours. The job has been vastly improved since carby glamours hit the stage. Egi's where apart of the game in 2013, 2017 when egi glamour came out, and 2020. Clearly they've had plenty of time to remove Egis and piss on the fan base. In fact the biggest complaint about Egi over the years hasn't been gameplay but cosmetics; feel free to do the research yourself. New Egi design would quiet 3/4 of the post regarding removing Egis.

Glad to see this thread getting some traction, but hopefully a dev will comment.

The last time they mentioned Egi-Glamours was actually during one of the Live Letter Reruns in May/June (don't remember exactly), where it was said they are still coming but they "weren't at liberty to talk about it" (at least accordng to the Reddit translation)

For plenty of people, including myself, the "pet part" of the job is a major drawing point, and pretty much every thread on SMN is a major indicator of that. So no, they should not just remove it.
The playerbase as a collective needs to stop asking SE to take things from one part of the playerbase just to serve another one, things like compromise and happy mediums exist for a reason.
Besides, I for one would like for SE to actually FIX an issue for once rather then just gloss over or delete it.

I'm in agreement with this, but sadly I think SE is moving further and further from the job being pet based with how watered down the pets have become especially not even being target-able anymore.

basicly they are trying to make pets work , which in 5.0 i honestly dont get why they reworked the whole system. From what i heard the old system just needed garuda to not have casts on her 3 seconds ability and that would be it.
Smn is one of those jobs that, unless you make a system were you can fit another phase without breaking the whole thing, will keep getting reworked.
As for people who have problems with the theme of the job, 5.3 confirmed that arcanima (or summoning for those who REE at the mere mention of the class) is in fact the creation magic ascians used.
This means unless they make summoner be a massive plothole his theme wont change, this means ruins, dots and egi wont be removed.
The only thing theyll do is change egi gameplay till you people get happy, even though the solution is simple from my point of view just make the egis look more like their bigger counterparts, thats how shallow the complains are.
Not that it will stop people from making a fool out of themselves. Smn is quite the popular job fortunately and unfortunately.
I just wish that instead of being stupid people they instead talked how to actually fix the issues, so that they can focus on that instead of reworking twice every expansion.

I don't think removal of pets is a good idea, because then people will start begging for new pet class. I know that there are theories about limited job Beastmaster, but limited jobs are just side mini game.
I think they should just drop Shiva, Ramuh, and Leviathan glamours in 5.4-5.5, and the rest of primals in next expansion.
I'm aware its not really low effort thing, they need fully animated models with all actions, but if Yoshi P talks so much about team growing, they have occasion to prove it, because overall quality of ShB makes it questionable.

I know that feeling as I kinda want a Puppet Master myself which is basically a new pet class.
