i have a group of friends, a FC and a linkshell, but i would have love be able to interact with them again. And to others that have no party in this game, this would be a VERY reasonable way to find friends...

but then again, doubt they will ever listen, at least for now they have more imp stuff.. /sighs

How about limited access to traits from your subclass for your jobs. To keep it from OP to much you would have no access to your secondary class, so Paladin would have traits from Gladiator and Conjurer, but none from Marauder.

Example: Paladin is a Lv30/Lv15 Gladiator/Conjurer. So our subclass is conjurer, from which we receive Cure, Protect, Raise, and Stoneskin. I believe we should also receive select/relavent traits from our sub, ie: Enhanced Mind I, Proshell, Enhanced Raise, and Graniteskin. To access all these traits as a Paladin, you would have to raise a character to be a Lv36 conjurer.

- autokick from party in dungeons when a member do not pass a "gate" within a certain time (that purple glowing line delimiting zones or boss area). Create a man trap like the cutscene circle ones when there's only one room like for primordials (Ifrit, Titan, et cetera)
- allow whisp in dugeons with an option, sometimes it's more welcomed to give a tip in private.
- option for different sounds from all other FF games in the past, like victory, chocobo riding, passing a level, etc.. with a shuffle option too because after all music is a signature in Square Enix's games.
- roleplay servers asap

- a support group like Alcoholics Anonymous for craft addicts !!! :eek:

This thread was too long to read through all the suggestions so I don't know if this was mentioned in here but,

When comparing a new item piece with one you have equipped, could it show ALL the upgrades/downgrades as opposed to just only showing the defense and m. defense?

Like it'll show- Vitality 18 (+2) Intelligence 8 (-1)

That sort of thing. I hate going back and forth between the item and my gear to make comparisons on each stat and then determine if it's better for me to equip it or not.

Give dragoons a trait that attacking lizards and dragon type monsters a 5 to 10% extra damage.

Give paladins a trait that attacking the undead a 5 to 10% extra damage.

Give monks a trait that attacking high physical defense monsters like golems a 5 to 10% extra damage.

If these are already in the game then ignore this post.

Allow note for people in friend and black list. I mean some custom text I can write for each person so that I don't forget what they added me or I added them for.

As fun as that would be and being able to meet people on your own, if the Queue times were much shorter this could be viable. It will only prolong the queue for people who aren't looking for same server seeing as you are now dividing up the group of people Queuing. My 30-50min DPS Queues make me cringe at dividing the numbers up further.

Lets say you got to a boss and said "I need to go to the bathroom" and the tank decides to ignore you and pull anyways. :( I would change this to auto-kick on AFK of about 5-10mins of inactivity.

Dunno if this has been mentioned or not, but I'd like to be able to move the focus targets' cast bar off the focus target frame so the text isn't overwriting each other.

- Please let THM/BLM cast all elemental magics.
- Make it so Primals can resist/absorb damage for black magic of their element. I.E Garuda absorbs wind damage
- Make all elemental spells full damage. That Aero and Thunder spells are horrible.
- Give us the option to cast AoE with any spells like in V1.0 before it was changed.
- Fix Area of Effect so you cast them on enemies not yourself. Imagine me running in between a bunch of monsters just to cast AoE on myself.
- Had a friend become frustrated with how the AoE system is done in the game, this is what he told me in chat, I xxx out the name for privacy.

"[4:38:24 PM] xxx: so now i ran to a bunch of ants
[4:38:26 PM] xxx: aoe
[4:38:37 PM] xxx: and every one has a chance to land a hit on me

Sorry, I had to. To provide something actually useful to the discussion; I'm not saying your ideas are particularly bad but they were changed or are different for a reason. Correct me if I'm wrong but traditionally the "offensive" black magic in previous FF games as been limited to ice, fire, and lightning historically, and XI was the exception to this. The AoE toggle from 1.0 was kinda cool, but was clunky and caused a lot of balance issues. All spells had to have poor efficiency to make up for the fact they could become AoE. (See what Scholar did to XI and how it was promptly nerfed into oblivion for being ridiculously overpowered). Also if your friend is only using Blizzard to AoE things hes doing it wrong. Considering hes referring to ants, I imagine hes at Cutter's Cry level and at that point you have access to much more powerful fire based AoE spells that are ranged. Blizzard is for MP regeneration as well as quick getaways (see: the bind effect). It just so happens its a spammable AoE attack but once you get past the 20s and 30s it's damage is hardly good for much past getting easy gold in FATEs.

In this game Earth, Wind, and Water damage are not black magic but are the elements of nature which is why Conjurer use those schools. They're not going to change the entire lore of the game for people that want things exactly like they were in FFXI or XIV vanilla.

I'm pretty sure you don't get Firaga at lv 12, also, there are lv 5 Ants that are grouped together. And while Fire, Blizzard and Thunder has been the staple of most FF games in the past, there are cases with specialized magics like Quake making it into the fray which is earth based. Also the fact that magic was highly resisted in V1.0 I'm certain wasn't because of any limitations and is more a design choice based on ones own status (in this case INT) and the relative lv of the monster and it's ability to resist said spell. And I can assure that spell resist is still in this game though not has frequent and annoying as V1.0. The fact that my friend went in the middle of a bunch of monsters to cast Blizzaga was more than a foolish act if I do say so but still doesn't justify why I need to cast black magic on myself to make it AoE. That is utter nonsense. I should be able to target said monster and cast my spells. There should never be a reason to "need" to be in the middle of a set of monsters just to AoE. I use "need" because it's possible someone is farming and want to be the center of attention when their spell hits but that's besides the point.

UI
- Add a checkbox that turns off a person's own ability to raidmark.
- Raidwarnings; Allow leaders, maybe everyone, to broadcast something across the center of the screen.

Macros
- Add a command to marking macros, "on", that always turns the mark on. In other words, pressing later in the fight doesn't remove it, unless it's pressed on a different target.

Sounds
- Sounds play while game is not main focus.
- Dungeon finder queue has music, unique music, rather than a sound. Or something that even says "A group has been found" or something.

Here is a good one. And someone said this before so I'm regurgitating it, in the case of RMT, give us the ability to block the entire account linked to a character instead of the character alone. A bit drastic if I do say so myself, but I kind of like that idea. They will not be able to delete the character and make a new one to pester people. They would need an entirely new account. And in the case of non-RMT if you're annoying others in the game and just being a jerk about it, then you deserve to be perma-blocked anyway.

Teleport notifications need to be made to pop up at the bottom-right, similar to the loot list notification and party invitations, but without a Confirm/Cancel pop-up in the middle of the screen. Unwanted warps left and right! You took no consideration towards gamepad users! Heck, I'd bet even mouse users misclick on rare occasion! And to add to it, I've been in FATE parties where people warp all the time. Having that aggravation pop up in the center of the screen constantly is absolutely infuriating!

If I want to take a warp, give me a notification regarding it, not a pop-up, and I'll get to it when I'm not busy pressing Confirm on my gamepad with the intention that I'll target something rather than fly halfway across the map or world.

Haven't seen anyone correct this, but this isn't true. THM/BLM hasn't always been able to cast all those spells. In fact, CNJ at 1.0 launch had all these spells.

Also, in other FF games BLM only had access to thunder/fire/blizzard, and not the other spells. There are exceptions like XI, bug again. Your facts aren't facts, just thoughts.

I do agree in the absorb, etc, but that does make it difficult for different jobs and different content, so I disagree. In offline games where you control the whole party it works, but in the MMO it doesn't.

I like how your friend did something stupid by using an AoE move within a group on enemies and then complains that's it's the game design and not his bad choice that is to blame.

I played XI for over 7 years. I loved it. But this isn't XI-2. XIV is a different animal and that's OK. If people would accept this as something new instead of being upset that every attack/skill/mechanic isn't like it is in XI or WoW or w/e they would have more fun.

Promptly nerfed into oblivion? The only substantial nerf the job received was to Embrava and it took a long time before that even happened. (And FYI, Embrava is still actually pretty good.) That "ridiculously overpowered" job is pretty much the same. It could actually use a couple fixes but that's a conversation for another time.

I'm not a fan of elemental magic in this game either, but it isn't changing and everyone should just get used to it.

Modus Veritas got a pretty huge nerf as well, but yeah. as far as i remember SCH actually got buffed when it got its AF (with the inclusion of defensive spells such as Blink and Stoneskin, as well as Addendum: white/black)

Modus Veritas' nerf had little impact on the job.

The problem with MV was that it could potentially take a boss down in a number of seconds with a number of scholars timing things perfectly.

I'm not sure they took anything substantial down, and I know they never got AV with it, though that was the ultimate goal.

Nerfing that one ability was hardly nerfing the job into Oblivion and had little impact on how Scholar actually played in traditional party setups.

Indeed. i never said it was 'nerfing it into oblivion' the rest of my statement more or less said the opposite. as far as i'm concerned sch never got nerfed to oblivion .

though i'd have personally preferred they had removed the abillity. since it never lands lol.

you could say the same thing about Embrava, since it requires the 1hr . it too is not apart of sch's regular party play. (i suppose maybe every hour? lol)

on another note, one thing i'd like them to add is on the crafting recipe menu, to add a check-mark next to the level sections (such as 1-5, 6-10 ect) once you've crafted all the items in that section. its not a huge deal of course, but would make it easier to know if you've got some you havent done yet.

the only thing bothering me about the game so far is that on the ps3 version, when i am in first person view and i speak to a small person or creature, the word bubbles cover up their faces. >.< i wish the camera would angle so the word bubbles are below their faces. instead i can try to apply slight pressure on the joystick to balance the camera but it wants to reset itself to a specific place; over the little faces. the choice i have made is to exit first person view.

FFXI was the ONLY FF in which BLM could cast all the elements. When the wind element made its debut, it was a white mage spell. When the water element made its debut it was a blue magic spell.

Traditionally BLM can only cast Ice, Fire and Thunder based spells. If you don't believe me, go to the FF wiki.

Edit: Whoops Delmontyb addressed it first, didn't see it but it still remains true!

Not sure if this has already been mentioned but is not listed in the main page.

Please let us dye every armor, its sad to see everyone with darklight armor or job armor having the same appearance, the only lvl 50 armor (the green armor) we can dye now are really meh....

and let the dye effect all part of the armor, for example in botanist chest piece lvl 50 the dye only affect the "inner cloth" and not the "vest", so please let us dye the "vest" as well even if it means using 2 dye.

You would also have to remake the whole THM class from scratch.

I think a lot of PS3 users are coping with not able to see anything at FATEs by turning on filters for battle effects. However, it seems like pet action animation (your own chocobo, summons) are actually under "Other" instead of "Self" or "Party." I'm almost level 50 and tonight was the first time for me seeing Ifrit's attacks. Makes me kind of sad because they did such a nice job on the animation.

Lv49 and the only good option for level is grinding FATEs. Its really tedious.

This is already an option in under sound. Check or uncheck if you would like it to be on or off when the game is not the main focus.

Just give us something more to do other than running AK and CM all day!!

PLEASE add right click options like leave party

- Let cutscenes automaticly be skipped if you seen it already, that way if a group finished for example custrum they never have to skip the cutscenes again.
- When you select questreward let it show what stats are going up and what is going down, now you only see + or - def and same goes for weapon.
- Allow us to rider our chocobo even if it is your companion for combat at the moment.
