So why are you here on the FFXIV forums instead of playing GW2? Just want to find some stuff to satisfy your whining quota? Clearly, there are differences between the two games (a quick Google search shows FAR, FAR more differences and opinions about which is better than the simplistic comparisons you made). If you want SE to fix what you see as problems here, you have to explain what you want in detail, constructively, and possibly make some suggestions. You can't just turn into an anti-cheerleader and go "B2P P2P MMO RPG" and expect them to fix it with magic or expect your frustration and sarcastic twaddle to do it for you. "I expect less downtime" isn't enough; if the game is designed complexly enough that they can't use the same patch roll out model as GW2, then I can guarantee they'll be happier to lose you as a whining forum goer than do something that might negatively affect the game for the rest of the player base, especially for something that's a minor inconvenience at worst (but is really fun to blow way out of proportion and throw a fit about on a forum because that's what forums are for! Apparently).

No it didn't, GW2 had absolutely no end-game outside of farming for legendary mats at release. And it was in development for more than half a decade.

Fractals, ascended gear, etc. weren't added until later.

Fractals and Ascended Gear were launched later, yes. The game launched with more end game dungeons than XIV, Fractals came out 2.5mos after the game was released.

You are paying for a service, you should expect a minimum of what any other developer provides for free and then some.

I've been saying this since P3 beta. Does anyone honestly expect any better from SE? They are horrible.

This game won't be getting new content worth doing for 6-8 months from now, what are people on turn 5 expected to do? Cancel their sub? There goes tons of money.

What about casuals? They'll hit 50, try to level another class, notice it's nothing but boring fate grinding, have zero fun, not enjoy it at all. Try end game, notice it's literally 2 4 man dungeons, 2 story mode dungeons, 3 primals you kill once each for your relic, basically quest bosses, and a single raid. They'll despise how you have to farm the same 1-2 dungeons over and over and over for weeks on end for enough gear to get a relic or even do coil, then quit.

Casuals DO NOT like grind, hardcore players DO NOT like lack of content and everything being easily obtainable, with nothing left to do 1 month into the game.

What player base are you trying to win over SE? Because you're going to fail at grabbing both in the direction you're heading and this game will die.

There's a reason these past few days have had a dozen threads about "nothing to do" "I need more content" "there's no end game" "I beat the game already" 'there won't be new content for 4-8 months from now" etc.

These are things I would log in and participate in because they existed and were relevant.

GW2 was a piece of shit game where the solution to becoming wealthy ingame = open your wallet for those of us who have a decent paying job. The crafting there was completely inferior to the one we have in FFXIV now.

So yeah, FFXIV is far better, in my eyes.

Whoaaa... you are so fast I just got one lvl to 50 and got some 55/60 lvl gear from wanderers palace and Amandapor keep.

Just my opinion of GW2, I tried it and thought it was awful. The targeting was weird. You could attack mid air and effectively aggro something because if it. The PvP was bad. The character models looked bad. The UI was a little weird. So I stopped playing. The point is, if a game has too many things abou it that you don't like then there is no point in sitting around on the forums waiting for updates. Cancel/hold onto your sub, post a constructive feedback post and the just go do something else till updates come.

I've just started my endgame "journey" for gear on my 50. I'm still having fun. I have to level another class still to fill in some skills I want/need. I want to level goldsmith and some other crafts as well as start a WHM or PLD. There is plenty to do, but if you don't like slower leveling once your quests are gone then maybe this isn't the game for you. Or maybe you should level another class on another character.

You make money in GW2 the same as any other game, be smarter than other people and exploit their stupidity for profit.

For many players, the most time efficient solution is to simply just open their real life wallet. Since the assumed goal was to become wealthy in GW2, converting real life money into gw2 currency, is extremely time efficient. One could transfer 10 grand in less than 10 minutes.

Ok yes its "2.0" but technically the game has not even been out a full month yet. Name a game that had fantastic endgame within the first month......and another thing..this is a MMO...what else is there to do in a MMO but Farm the hardest dungeons for gear/craft stuff for money? PVP will be coming soon and so will housing but that is both a form of "static grinding"..............Xeffer i dont think MMO's are for you...Especially this one. At least not right now, as you don't seem to be willing to wait for a few FREAKING WEEKS for stuff to come out..Come on people.
