I wonder if this is some kind of cache/orphaned data issue. Doesn't leave me warm and fuzzy that they seem to be creating new issues while trying to fix old one.
I have been having the same issues for 24 hours now. I did not have a history of connection problems before then. I am getting lag spikes (seems more pronounced when I try to do an instance) and occasional disconnects which result in error 9000 and error 3102 for a few minutes if I try to log back in. I am unable to do group play with this error as I am a tank and if I get hit with a lag spike I lose aggro and my group gets screwed.

I've started having the exact same issue since September 1st around 2am EST.
I get huge lag spikes and the game kicks me out. It happens in inns, towns and outdoors. I live close to the servers' location and my connection is stable with every other internet services. I ran tests, flushed DNS, reset all settings and the issue persist only with FFXIV.
same :( this is frustrating. hopefully tomorrows maintenance fixes everything. Started happening yesterday and I never had any problems since open beta.

I am sorry that lots of us are experiencing this , but thank you for posting here. Maintenance is today , let's have hope they are aware of this issue and will fix it.
I also have the same problem started in my case Monday September 2nd, I have been able to play from P4 to yesterday with 0 problems at all
I have PC (Wired) and PS3 (Wireless) and they both have the problem
I tried plugging my PC into my ISP Modem directly and still have the problem
Restarted everything and still have the problem
But the strange thing is I tethered my Iphone to my PC (Iphone is on Fido) and I do not have the problem either on PC or PS3 (Goes slowly since my 3g connexion sucks but w/e)
Tried again this morning same problem
ISP is Videotron (Quebec) and they keep telling me they cannot do anything.

Also please note that even tho this video is a duty finder it happens outside, i've been spamming cures in Quarrymill for tests and sometimes they are late to appear
I had this 90000 error earlier and the symptoms are exactly what people describe here, and exactly what I experienced a few days ago, only to later log in and play and stay logged in for 14 hours with no lag and no issues.
Earlier today, logged in and got in on the first attempt, chatted to people in my FC, then went off to find a guildleve. Talked to the guildleve vendor, selected and read all the tutorial options, then headed out to the start point of the leve I had chosen. All the time, my actions were starting to seem more "delayed". By the time I headed out to the quest, I would hit Sprint and sprint would kick in not immediately, but maybe 2 seconds later.
Got there, right-clicked the questgiver, nothing. No dialog box at all. Tried to move but couldn't. Hit ESC and could. The game client thought a quest dialog was up, but the server had not delivered it.
And then shortly afterwards, disconnected with a 90000 error.
Same problem, started around the same time also on Excalibur. Played most the day Saturday without issue. The rest of the weekend even if I managed to get through the login server, I'd drop after a while to lag spikes.
ISP is very reliable, raided on WoW Sun/Mon without lag issues.
Well Paintballrulz.. your internet at home might not be the problem but from your home on its a freeway and it could be somewhere down the road thats the problem. The lag part you are not alone I see TONS of people with lag. Now it might just be they are putting to many people on the servers and lag hits all. Disconnects I dont know I only get error 1017.. I've only been disconnected once and have played on JP,NA,EU.
Still having the same latency problem after the maintenance , the problem is not as bad as it was but i still get latency problem where the game just freeze and then see everything on fast forward... And the worst , this is a known issue in the community yet we have to hear from SE about it... I am very disappointed at the moment. I submited a ticket this morning i should have an answer in 3 weeks , when i do if the problem persist ill post here what i got from the Support team.
Yes, indeed. Same lag but now more frequently but the spike duration is shorter. In average every 2 min a spike of 2-3 sec. I am very disappointed that the maintenance did not fix the issue, and seriously thinking about quitting the game because of this issue because you just simply can not enjoy the game in this state. Mostly cause i am a White mage and if i lag everybody dies. Get you re shit together SE.

Same issues here.
It started since September 1st and have been getting lag spikes followed by disconnects (error 90k).
I play on Odin(EU) and this is not bandwidth throttling like some ppl suggest because i have contacted my ISP, called RCS-RDS from Romania, and they said that they do not throttle bandwidth.
Restarting my PC, restarting my modem didn't do anything.
This is a problem that SE needs to fix on their end.
Same here , i give them a couple of days to fix or at least give us information about the issue if they don't i quit for good. Shits happen i understand but they have been ignoring us for days , we have no news/announcement/dev post letting us know what's going on , while during that time the JP are getting maintenance over maintenance over maintenance to fix every little detail. I was calm days ago now i am getting irritated.
