Patch 1.17 Notes

i dont know how to feel about the update.I been expecting more garbage so, not sure if i got it or not.
at least i wont have to see the stupid agro icon anymore.

Funny enough, Pixar said it takes them on average 2-4 years to make one of their CGI movies and we can all agree, Pixar is far from doing things halfassed.

I don't know about you guys, but if the game play looks as good as the update does, I am pretty pumped to get back on. At least they are trying.

umm excuse me but, there is no need to be rude over an innocent comment only to serve a friendly reminder befoire ppl expect quests cs then scream se fails when there are none.

I was being rude or insulting and no matter game or movie there is still a process that don;t take 2 mnths to do.

If its too easy play without gear or better without weapon.

Ya you can thank 70+% of all casual players on here. Thanks to most casual players who want a easy game that what SE is doing i can care less as long as they add something hard for hardcore players if not then this going to be a pretty easy game.

Oh my gosh I'm so excited for all these changes! I don't see anything in the notes about the Easter event though. Wasn't that supposed to happen with the first April update?

I'm sure that one's there, but it's going to be announced closer to the event :)

something that is bothering me is the fact that only a party of 8 can behest at a location now generally about 20 people show up for a behest and some don't make it in this presents a problem you will have parties of 8 constantly camping behests :(

any cs in a game is based on cgi of sorts the game is still cgi >.>

I took computer aided dracting which is a step in the prosess. To build 1 items grid can take severl hours or days. You have to make sure every line is connected to the smallest measurement or it will not look right.

would it make you feel better that you have no cs expectations then threre aree some? or cs expectations and find out there is none.

again even in gaming cs take time to make and that time is longer then 2 mnths.

I was excited about the notes because it's showing how the bigger patches are around the corner now. However, as I read other posts I started getting very annoyed so I just stopped.

Good Job Yoshi-P and team keep steppin ya patch game up like you have been doing. I can't wait to see what patch 1.18 looks like.

edit: Oh and 1.17a which probably isn't much.

It seems to only be a problem in Ul`Dah areas, not so much others and especially not Gridania camps.

And at the same time there are many camps left completely empty come behest time. Hopefully this will encourage people to spread out more.

"Rendering" suggests pre-rendered CGI. You mean ANIMATING the cutscenes - all cutscenes in FFXIV are in-engine, and therefore rendered in REAL TIME. The only thing cutscenes need are animators. Humm.. the exclamation mark has been over the heads already. But as soon as you accepted the quest, it disappeared. What they say here is that once you meet the objectives of the quest, the ! will appear again to let you know that you need to talk to the NPC to finish it.

if there are people in charge that are that rude maybe this game should die sad to say, i loved it but hard to say if it keeps going the way it is good thing isn't the only mmo out there

No chocobos, nor adjustments of point allotment effectiveness, nor new storyline, nor something that remotely resembles an endgame, nor r50 equip. We get stones near Maisenta removed (yay, they removed crappy stones in a ghost city!) and shiny-new r30 equipment tho...

Sounds about right for a full length movie or even an old-school PS1 cutscene. Except those techniques have been improved with modern graphics hardware. Game cutscenes are made with in-house engine tools that manipulate pre-made animations. These animations are used along with the storyboard to create a real-time cutscene. There is no need to pre-render unless the cutscene is spectacularly over the system requirements.

There's CGI that's done with things like Lightwave or Maya, and then there's CS done through the game engine, which FFXIV has both.

10% HP, MP, and accuracy buffs compared to an unbuffed 15 man party?

Having nearly twice the amount of party members is effectively increasing your battle effectiveness by almost 100%.

Actually making CS is 100% different from CGI most of the motions and animations are already in the game all it requires is to write the script and crap unless it's new animations and usually they don't add that until a expansion comes out IE. wing's of the goddess CS were a lot more in detail than Zilart. I don't understand why you talk like you know everything when you know a lot about nothing. Also you read about 1/4 of a post then ask or reply to a tiny portion of the post. It's very easy to get a high post count when you don't make any sense I guess. I admit some of my post are rather dumb but you, You take the cake, for you the cake is not a lie.
