Character recreation?

Hi guys thought I would let you all know to clear this up, I read these posts and then logged into the game (no errors, woot!) and me and my OH both have received a message with a fantasia vial. We are both legacy accounts and both still on the free trial.

I think this might possibly be related to something else as the message from SE in-game only talked about thanking us for purchasing the original FFXIV. But the timing is a bit odd, so I guess it could be related to this benchmark bug. In any case, we're happy. Hopefully you legacy players have received one as well. :)

I wasn't able to load my character data from the benchmark. I was able to get really close to my intended look, but now given the opportunity to change looks I might want to change name as well. Would it be inappropriate to use the name change application in this case?

Also, can you change the starting city with this?

I also got my phial in the moogle mail automatically without having submitted a request.

No you can't. But I did notice it does let you alter your name day (birthday) and guardian diety!

Why not just give a name change with the vial? gonna be silly to have a female name on my male char now.. atleast till the 11th :P

Is there a way to cancel a request for a new name? I thought that both the character name/appearance were the same form. I definitely DO NOT want a new name as that part of the change went through fine. I just wasn't able to upload my benchmark characters and was hoping I could get a fantasia phial.

But the name is way more important and I do not want to lose it. I didn't write down the ticket number (i know i know, lol) Is there any way to just cancel my request?

I changed my character's haircolor and eye color a bit drastically, and now I kind of regret it since it looks wierd now....if anything I'll wait for the veteran reward phial and change it then. Unless I got one delivered already, which I'm about to check....though I don't recall encountering any bugs ^^

I am a fickle person, that's for sure XD I have not seen any other MMO w/o a cash shop that allows for so many character changes let alone an item that's available as well. Thank goodness :o

I encountered the bug and didn't receive the phial, yet someone in my FC got it and didn't use the character creation benchmark.
Weird.

Thats odd, I didn't fill out any form and got a phial lol.

Oh well... the chance to change to male cat is in the palm of my hands! . . . or my inventory.

Maybe all legacy get one just cause :o

Might be a stupid question but once you log out after using the phial, how to access the subcommand menu? I'm on PC if that matters.

Yeah, FC mate didn't get bug or even know about the forum submission but he got one. I filled out a bug day one of Phase 4 about chr creator bug and no phial yet, I also filled out name change just to be safe.

Since I see a few questions, allow me to clarify a few things:

Users do not need to fill out the name change request form to receive the phial of Fantasia.

The name change form is entirely separate from the character appearance change, so please do not fill out the name change form. I've edited the original article to help make this even more apparent.

Also, I see some users saying they have not received a phial of Fantasia on their version 1.0 character yet. Have you logged out and back in since you started playing? You'll need to do that for the mail to arrive in the Moogle Delivery Service.

Bayohne! Is it acceptable for a person to use the name change request even if they did not have trouble renaming his character in the 1.0-2.0 transition?

So according to the news update it's possible to get more than one Phial. Does this mean in the future if we use the current Phial (say from Veteran rewards) we'd still be able to get another. Does anyone know if it's possible to trade them either>

Can't trade them. Presumably there will be further chances to get them but unsure, probably few and far between chances though, like if a new race comes out or something.

I wonder why they just don't sell the things (after the current server crisis has passed, of course).

$10 a reroll. Abuse it as much as you desire to pay for it.

For appearance sure. For names... not so much. Griefers will use that when they start getting a reputation and so far I haven't seen a way to see a 'global' account name.

I had the issue and as of last night I didn't have a Phial, guess I'll have to check when I get home.

Like I wrote I was changing my character during Early Access when I first lost connection due to server outage for Balmung or whatever happened. End result was I lost my changes and the second time around I didn't actually change the name entirely like I wanted. Now I'm stuck with a name I hate. Basically I wanted to change it to something more close to lore and I forgot about changing both the parts of the name the second time around as I planned.

Just making sure I understand:

1.0 players get a phial in the mail now-ish and will also get another one when they pay for 30 days? So 1.0 players will get two total?

Can you change your race with this Fantasia thing?

I have questions about the name change for people that didn't necessarily have a name changing problem also. I would like to hear more about this.

Sorry, one question: the article says we cannot hold more than one phial of Fantasia at any given time right? But since we got one from this AND we will get one from the vet reward, can we like leave the one from the vet reward stored in the mog delivery system without the danger of having it ereased? Or maybe store the one we currently have on a retainer? Or we HAVE to use the one we got now to not basically throw one away?

Dear Bayohne,

My question is a bit of clarification, when it mentioned you cannot revert your character to it's current name. In my case, I wanted to correct my characters last name from 1.0, but leave the first one the same. (From Psion Crystalis to Psion Crystallis., adding the extra "L") Will I be able to do this, or must I change both the first and last name of my character?
