easy... look at the vids, and comments ppl make. And look at the comments they make about patches. Its not that hard to do.
Well, I disagree. It's like actually doing something and just reading about it. You really can't understand your fellow players. Basically you have nothing to base your opinion on but what others post here. There are many many people that don't post here. You are getting an inaccurate depiction. You have your own viewpoint also. You might like it. You might hate it. But, to post on a game you are not playing is incrediably insulting to me that does.
If the majority dislike a change it's probably not that good. How is this hard to understand?
Yeah I know what you're talking about Kilta. It's funny cause Blizzard actually named an achievement after that (same with Leeroy, moar dots, etc). They tend to keep track of the memes that spawn from the game.
no because i look at their comments then watch vid if something looks fun ima find it fun :) i take in about 20% on what ppl say about games. I'm pretty good at knowing if ppl are just blindly hating something and having a legit reason to dislike something.
The reason ima play lalafeel was watching a lalafell crafting video and it was hyper cute :3
plus I tend to have fun no matter how god aweful ppl claim the game is. minus two worlds that was an eception.
I don't have a problem with what anyone wants. I might agree or disagree. My problem is with posters that are not playing the game in which they are posting their opinions on. They have absolutely nothing to base those opinions except for what a few others say. I'm sick of posers. Play my game then you will earn some respect. Immerse yourself. Then you show you have a base on which to post your remarks.
AHHHHHHHH LOL WoW achivement "stood in fire" requirement... get killed by deathwing TOO FUNNY.
I base my opinions on what I found fun in other games plus my own ideas. Most my posting is in general comments or idea threads. I try not to most in something im not gonna know or understand.
I bought the game I want it to be fun. I can post my opinons if I choose :) I want to have fun when i can play. Forums are just not for players but potential players mmo are a risk. And you do not want to spend money on a game you may not like, or has a bad community. forums are a good way to get a bit of info. do most ppl who post like the game? then ya you may like it too.
Kilta is just as interested in the future of this game as anyone, and she can certainly know what she would like to see in it. I haven't, to date, seen her comment on extreme specifics. Wanting instances different from wow is pretty general.
Edit: lol. Pardon me Kilta. *Moves off the floor*.
Forums are also good to get connection early so when you buy the game you have a "home" to go to w/o logging in and hunting. Pretty much not to be rude, but its really none of your buiness why I post here. I;m not posing or anything. Everyone knows i don;t play, but do know i own it and want to play when I can. Why do you feel it is with in your right to tell me I can't post here?
this is my stance on ffxiv
I want it to be memorable as ffxi but better then ffxi. I want tons of content that anyone of any play time can partake in. I want this game to have a cobstent influx of newbies so getting groups or doing content don't take hours to locate players.
pretty much I just want to be a fun mmo. :) And i don;t play WoW anymore. That game though I had sone fun is to solo centric and uts community is pretty nasty. When I tried gaging rp servers I got called crude names just for rping as a lvl 1.
I hope dungeons in this game are a hybrid for more of this:

yeahh exactly! I don't like the fact that in every actual encounter, you have to be for 10-15-20 min in the same pixel and spamming your abilities.. imho isn't so fun.. i'd like more dynamic fight not so frenetic as wow (there were some too crazy fight ).. for example.. let's take the new ququrn NM and the bomb baron.. I would be very happy to see something like that the bomb will release a debuff random on someone in the party, so that player should run away from to others to not kill them! Or some mini-bombs spawn that will follow someone random and will explode, so everyone must go away from it ecc ecc.. Or the quiquirn that will trow random a lot bombs on players, and when it will explode it should release something like fire on the flow.. so you have to organize your space/camp to not be in an arena of fire! Sorry for my bad english btw ;) "Like" if you'd liek to see something like the examples that i wrote :D
ill open a new thread to listen what ppl have to say about more dynamic mechanics ;)
Edit= Just opened a thread focused on the battle system (even outside dungeons) , please post there :D !
I am glad she is interested. And she has quite alot to say. I also can post my viewpoint. She has not played the game. Do I really want her suggestions on a game she has not tried to be taken seriously by developers? The answer is no. The game is working. You are able to play it. You are able to experience it. Once you experience it then you can have some knowledge. Something she says here, if she had experienced the game, she might feel differently about. I could also go on a forum of airplane mechanics and make "suggestions". The would probably laugh at me, as they should since I know nothing of it. Trying to validate non-players on a subject they know nothing about is senseless. It is insulting. I really wish they would make anyone that is able to post here a current player of the game. For those not currently playing and have suggestions they can speculate on another forum. Forum name: "I don't play but this is what I think your game needs."
Guys, please follow the topic set by the name, and do not degrade into a flame battle; the mods will not be amused.
SE has made dungeons more....accessible and unique, I suppose. Though I have not played it, FFXI's looked pretty good, I also think of Dissidia's dungeons, the underground areas in the mainstream games e.g. Cave of the Fayth, FFX. I think these dungeons will be pretty good, using that standard.
I hope they make the dungeons unique as well, not just rocks and lights and plants everywhere. An underground crystal maze, an aetherial passage underwater, rock spires twisting from the ground and ceiling....
Infact, we're going OT , post here for the aspect of dungeons.. i just opened a post focused in battle system ;)
I'd like to see dynamic and fun elements like, traps, thorns, stone that will fall from floor, secret doors etc etc :D
A way to prevent dungeons from being too WoW like is to randomize the monsters and the boss monsters you would face (Or Humanoids). so instead of "this happens at this point" we would be surprised with location and monster changes. Even have the path you have to take in the dungeon randomized each time you go in.
The same thing happened in FFXI. Tiamat and other bosses did certain things at certain times without fail.
i would love to see some crazy ass looking dungeons with mystical creepy music, and tonberries
You know whats crazy.. That this is SE. Look at all the crazy final dungeons we've seen in the past..
Even in FFXI I don't doubt SE in their dungeon design skills but in terms of encounter balancing/difficulty they are severe lacking. Tu'Lia and Al'Taeau were pretty epic when I got there - boss fights not so much (AV doesn't count).
No, she's right. I don't read ANY of your posts anymore, especially after your comment about 2 hours being useless in FFXI(You even called soul voice/sam 2 hour useless lol..). The only reason I read this one is because my eyes read it faster than I could scroll down the list, since your post was very short.
Having someone who hasn't played the game AT ALL posting so much is really annoying.
I like mazes. The kind where you pop from room to room are pretty cool. They could have one that changes everytime you enter it, and you have to follow certain clues or something to find the boss. That way it's different every time.
grac i bought the game and would play it I could, I do know a decent about of the game, I watch youtube vids all the time and have a basic understanding. I also am a long time mmorpg player. I rarely seen an mmo that wasn't too different from others. ffxiv looks like just like every other rpg out there. You level up kill creatures talk with ppl. The only real suggestions was a market ward fix based on the lack of organization when placing retainers, and character chat animations. It don't take playing to know characters do not move when you chat.
All you need to do when making a suggestion is look at something and see how you can improve it. I saw what market wards look like and made a suggestion on improving it.
all your doing insulting me and sticking your nose where it don;t belong.
Limbus is basically a wow dungeon thats instanced, the only thing really different is... nothing cept its on ffxi?
1. Repeat scenery per instance
2. Kill mobs + end boss
3. Repeat at later time for "gear" and other items
whats different you can point out from limbus and a warcraft instance? I've played both for years (and endgame in both for years) I'd like to see some difference you can point out.
Outdoor "world" nms? I'll put this here on how people feel about "outdoor NM's"
http://www.neko-sentai.com/images2/nidd.jpg
If ya mean "world feel alive" fueled by alot of anger sure :P
Obviously the image "may" seem hilarious but its not hilarious when your actually there, even after 32+ hours this image was taken still trying to kill it without being killed ;/
i was having a bad night. And used a too harsh word. I did play every job in ffxi and didn't like the 2hrs very much. The reason was due to there was too many paramaters involved. W.o the right sub/gear those 2 hrs were not that great. with the best gear they was too over powered.
don;t hold grudges... its kinda silly.
I love your website :X
And limbus is different because you port from area to area, it's lowmannable or zergable, you need to collect "pop items" to pop the two major bosses, while farming the pop items you get items you can trade in for +1 AF, you get beastcoins for special items/+1 AF, you can sell beastcoins, etc. There's also time extension chests, loot chests, and full restore chests. You had to choose between the 3 depending on your situation a lot. It just feels different imo, and was.
Western MMO dungeons are:
1) Clear trash for 15 mins
2) Kill boss
3) Repeat x3-5
4) Required a set number of people ALWAYS(boring)
5) Tuned exactly for that "gear level" and set party limit(boring)
Completely agree. While I enjoyed many of those dungeons, those games had too much of an emphasis on knowing encounters instead of knowing game, class, and mob mechanics. They have their place in those games, but I don't care to see them here. I want the fight to challenge my ability to tank or to play a class, not an encyclopedia knowledge of some raid encounter.
Thats not really any different that WoW, you get badges whilst running WoW raids which you trade in for epic armour, same thing.
You don't need full restore because mp and hp return as a decent pace and not a snails pace, you don't pop the final boss but you can't reach him until you kill the others because they are directly in your path.
All bosses are timed and will enrage after 8 mins.
I dont care if its western, eastern, northern oder southern.
It just has to be good.
I personally want fun dungeons that are not resiticting like some of ffxi's were. the "need monk/nin" stuff got old......
