Diversity is good, I agree. However, by having pvp (if even in a few servers) you break that diversity and segrigate the community. The implimentation of pvp alone will do this. Don't waste your time he just don't understand. FFXI/FFXIV is not other mmo PVP is not there goal, even if they add PVP it be something no one really would do because they would be 100x more stuff to do in PVE you be busy all day.

I don't understand the players that say there noting to do in FFXI, when you could easy do a few thing you don't need ppl for like craft, or do some campaign battle.

PVP,PVE,RP world would cut down the player base, There to many MMO out there and we wont have that many players. I for one not seeing ffxiv having anymore then a few mil players. They wont ever have 12+mil like wow that just to crazy of a dream.

nor am i, im using your example of pvp servers and non pvp servers. It would split the player base as such into two main types of servers. With only 1 server you get a veriety of players.

Also, you forget. How is pvp to be implimented when crafters are legitimate jobs/classes/roles? IF any such pvp existed, how would the crafting roles be included in this? or do you suggest they just get whacked on a regular basis? if this is the case, such servers would have no crafters. imbalance right there

Indeed: a variety of players who cannot act on their variety for being forced to play the way the server tells them to.

... Karma system, crafting in towns, guild protection (inspires loyalty to Linkshell), or do what any of the other games with crafting classes do.

So if am mining how would that work? i just get kill everyday? or you make it so there not allow to get attack? btw craft would have to go outside to each outpost to turn in quest and do crafting leves.

Top of that you have to balance overall game just for PVP system, Not everyone would even do Crafting and you wont have much item selling. It would take too much time to be added to ffxiv then not have enough players even on that world.

Because PvP outcry about class balance is probably one of the biggest annoyances in the PvE world. Constant nerfing and buffing, drives people batty.

Or you can have a karma system that punishes PKers. Since you obviously dont like PvP, I can't expect you to undestand why some people would like this.

SE is a weird company. Putting all players onto the same servers even though they don't want to be. Japanese players don't want to play with non-japanese players, but SE insists for no other reason than 'just because'. Then half the server are people I can not even play with because I am prevented from engaging with them due to the language barrier.

Not to mention latency.

Then refusing to add an official role play server so that likeminded people would flock there instead of being forced to make do with an unofficial roleplay server, still rife with non roleplayers imposing upon their fun.

They then refuse to recognise that they have potential to attract more players by creating different rule sets for their servers rather than a one-size fits all, essentially alienting players that would have given them subscription.

It's crazy. Am I the only one that sees this?

I agree on what he saying but he just don't understand that SE are not in to that type of things even if they could make more money out of it they wont mess up the player base for the lack of more money. I think This is why i dislike blizzard i play wow for 2months and when i complain about a bug or a issue most of they say "what can we say Blizzard just want money"

It's just a matter of how much time it would take to do all that just to see no one really using it. From the player polls it seem not a lot of players even care about PVP.

only 5.7% really want PVP so i think that not even there big top list for now.

I agree with Chezen even if they make a PVP world, some players who like to PVE more would still like to PVP so they still have to add it to the non PVP worlds. They would mess up most of the game for PVE so ya at the end PVP wont be the top list anyways.

@gifthorse: I love PVP i hate WoW pvp for one Reason do you understand how pain in the ass it is to be a rank 13 and someone with BOA come along and kill you in 2hits and they have 1.3k hp? oh and they now overpowering Rog and hunters again :) great job Blizzard.

But at the end the reason i played FFXI and playing ffxiv is for storyline and PVE yes i know it hard to believe anyone really care about storyline :)

If they really care about subscription they would have done all of this you have said. Just the idea that JP want there own world and they said no say they don't really care the idea of ffxi and ffxiv is that you can play at any hours and see players on. Yes jp don't invite NA but i got a lot of party in ffxiv with jp and i have a few jp friend thanks to that.

I do appreciate your exasperation, and I'm not upset by it. You're right that there is a big market for PvP. I hope you can appreciate, even if you disagree, with my exasperation with PvP balancing.

I just came with the Conclusion he trolling and trying to pull our leg here. He understand very well what we saying to him he just don't care and want SE to set it up like he saying because he say it make them more money. if they care so much about it they would done it by now.

It would Effect everyone becuase what about players that want to PVE more and still want to do some PVP? you want the PVP world to only have pvp and pve world only have PVE? so you asking everyone who want to RP,PVP,PVE to make 3 Chars to do 3 diff things? it just wont work out.

they would have to add PVP and PVE on both world and would effect the game play on both sides.

Even if they allow us to change worlds with one Chars to each 3 diff worlds that would just look silly to me.
