Oh 5 years difference? Hmm I thought everybody moved just to an alternate world or into another dimesion or something like that xD
I really wonder what happened to the ppl, to the world, to everything during those 5 years when meteor crashed to the planet. I hope they will explain everything in the new storyline. ^^

Where I used to live near the Pine Barrens, the trees actually need an occasional forest fire in order for their fallen pine cones to open to release their seeds.

5 Years seem enough people who saying we go to other alternate world please no :) we had that in FFXI.

From the video it seem like it really did not hit but most rocks hit citys and areas got fucked over but 5years seem more then enough for a fantasy type to rebuild even the beastmen rebuild there new strongholds :) which look really nice from the art work.

They are just copying FFXI Wotg story

One of the best series I have ever read. I almost didn't read book 2 because I thought one was meh. Book 1 just sets up the entire series....thanks for reminding me...just seeing the cover gave me chills.

Care to explain Atomos then and why he's bringing in creatures from an "Alternate dimension"? ... Or why the wandering minstrel said he feels like he's in the world but it's not actually his own?

FF has done the alternate worlds thing quite a few times... I don't see why this would be any different.

The reason this is set 5 years later is so SE can set some backstory for the game... Maybe we were lost all that time in the new world or someone was trying to bring our memory back. SE has so many ways to take the story.

Yep, and Atomos as of XI is considered the Time & Space summon by the FF community since even prior to XI he was always essentially a blackhole lol.

As far as we know now in relation to XIV, he's actually opening a wormhole to the Void, thus letting more Voidkin run amok. Could be related to more "Seventh Umbral Era Monsters" appearing which was mentioned in some Letters from Yoshi-P.

Which makes me wonder about the Seventh Umbral Era. Was it forced to start early because of the Meteor project? Was Dalamud responsible for prior Umbra Eras? It's been around since the Fourth Era IIRC from the Allagans, so I wouldn't be surprised if they made it in an attempt to prevent Umbral Eras from happening. (Another Forerunner comparison).

Couldn't the comment from the Wandering Minstrel been referring to XI just as easy as anything related to XIV. I mean the world is similar but at the same time very different, not to say that's the right explanation just saying it's not so cut and dry that we're moving to a new world altogether.

Dalamund does hit but it doesn’t look likes it moving fast enough to do as much damage as we think and what is that pillar that comes out of the bottom of it?

I don't think dalamud even hits but it gets close enough to cause something to happen wasn't there an idea of it being a giant cocoon/prison o.O/

i heard they were keeping the echo i was annoyed at that and that they are continuing that story supposibly I really hope not and that its speculation... GC Quests will be there v/s Garlean but I'm thinking the other story will deal with the beastmen... who knows... the echo is stupid personally... OH I CAN SEE INTO THE PAST SOLVE PEOPLE PROBLEMS BUT SAYING " I KNOW THE TRUTH"... x_x is there another story aspect to the echo because if its just that its a pretty boring concept...

Atomos - "an entity with the power to breach the borders between worlds."

Even though we're all torn as to whether or not we'll be thrown into another world... I really want to know what purpose Atomos is serving and why they are focusing so much on this "other world".

I'm still convinced that there is a parallel Eorzea out there ... and if it is .. I'm betting any money we'll see a non-destroyed Ala Mhigo. I feel history in this new world played out a little differently than the one we're in.. and I also think "The Raven" will end up following us to this world.

Just like Fringe :)

The little girl who's father dies in the Ul'dah storyline and the Thaumaturge guy that takes the rap kind of elude to 'a threat greater than Garlean'. The Moogles do as well. Kind of going in the direction that the planet will unleash primals on the Garleans if they do enough damage but that those primals are untamed and won't just purge Garleans but all civilization.

Even the launch Movie, it's primals vs Garlean so they have done something grave to drive the planet in to take such measures.
