people managed to make interesting creative RP venues even before it existed, they just simply stopped cos of the convenience the plugins and mods provided. Coupled with the fact that numerous folks in different threads have been pointing out that it also barred vanilla and console users from such venues or rp interactions simply cos they didnt use it, its safe to assume why folks are coming to this conclusion(and before you say this isnt true, i implore you to go around and see other relevant threads and the replies of people who have felt they been excluded).
and lets be honest, most folks will return when the replacement comes in like usual as we've had hiccups like this before.
Odd you don't have the humility to admit your previous post was either just confirmation that it's only 5% of the player base that used this program or that you didn't math correctly and didn't know 25-100k out of 1mil is 2.5-10% which was claimed. Instead of confronting your error, you sweep it under the rug.
I do have something to gain from them leaving, my account ID isn't getting scrubbed by their program. Y'all need to research why you need to do your due diligence when installing unauthorized programs, look up what Gshade did to the XIV community a few years ago to see how messed up some 'good guy' developers can be. The fact this program logged account IDs to begin with is a horrible security flaw that shouldn't be handled by a 3rd party program, ever.
As a role-player, I'm not entirely convinced Mare was a net gain for the community. When it got big, actual role-playing venues were replaced by clubs and brothels in Party Finder. While correlation isn't causation and I'm sure there's other issues impacting things (Dawntrail losing players, the big RP servers being closed for half a year now, etc) Mare certain made the "not-really-role-playing-but-seen-as-part-of-the-role-playing community" bigger.
some think it's about inclusivity furries non binary and all those thing I don't get not gonna lie and don't wanna either. like well I believe in science and everyone get upset when you don't respect those choices but are forcing them on people. like isn't a double standard? my biggest problem with the thing is alot of player changed the gender of the character they are as. like a female miqo turned into a male something and when you get it wrong they report you to GM.
I think SE might have catered to much toward all of them that they forget the other part of the playerbase.
I see LGBTQIA+ worst then politics
People used mare, and use mods, because game fully lacks of any good modern character customization. We have old faces and all characters looks the same.
Maybe try to focus on reasons?
Same for blacklist. its completely useless, it has 200 slots, no autoremove feature, no DF filtering. For example I like to play a conjurer, and have a lot of annoying players (especially mentors) who tells me how to play or these losers even votekick me, I would like to filter them out from my DF.
Or I see a music bot band, who have awful taste in music, so I would like to add them to blacklist, but **Temporary**
i doubt that any dedicated raider would quit the game, because he cant see big t*** goth girls and modbeasts anymore
It's not like mare had any impact on me, but recent interview about content and difficulty seems likely to be my final straw. WoW just showed their upcoming expansion with housing and reworked old locations, new race and whatnot and almost at the same time Yoshi says thet there will be less content going forward because balancing the fights consisting of the same mechanics over and over is hard on the team.
Dawntrail was as stale as a week old spaghetti in the freezer, first story where i just skipped all the patches just to get to dungeons and trials to get to roulettes with my friends. Only thing that i was excited for was Beastmaster, which got shelved for 7.5, and now I'm excited for MH collab which is only in October.
I dont want to even try extremes or raiding this expac, i only keep my entry sub to keep my house and I'm starting to consider to juat drop it all and maybe buy WoW expac next year instead of buying next ffxiv expac and keep hoping that it will get better.
It's the first time I'm actually regretting spendinjg money on ffxiv. Could've spend them on something more fun.
Doubleposted
While I'd love more options, I would bet a lot of money that there would still be mods no matter how many options they put into the game, and condoning third party tools would be a whole other thing they might get held liable for. If all of a sudden people start sharing posts on social media where they're using copyrighted materials while playing FFXIV it can cause lots of problems. I've even seen it happen on other games like City of Heroes where people were making Spider-man characters. Heck even WoW, as far as I'm aware, doesn't allow addons that would change the game files. So to me the best thing they could do is maybe add some sliders and more options OR if there's a replacement, the community needs to stop being so loud because the devs were fine to turn a blind eye until recently.
Whenever the old man replies like that it means theyre adding multiple “modes” like the new quantum
basically reusing existing content for more difficulty so less variety horizontally but more vertically within the same thing. Honestly hate it when he overexplains stuff sometimes due to his gundam trauma.
most folks who been keeping track of patch cycles would know that beastmaster was gonna drop around 7.5 (tail end of the expansion) due to how big the gap tends to be till the next expansion drops (like around 6months ish of a patch cycle). 7.4 was already full with savage, ex, hildi, new Phantom jobs and a variant dungeon being repolished
no tricks, u just use mouse + keyboard, instead of limiting urself with a controller, use mouseover macros to assist, use mana potions, gather piety stat, learn how to slidecast, and press buttons.
most content designed around Cutscene Watching Andies, so there is no big deal about it.
Anyway its offtop now. I just made my point about Blacklist function.
Yeah, I got that, but that's kinda the problem?
We hypothetically will get one dungeon with flex difficulty like WoW. More people will clear it in like week-two-three and then there is nothing to do, unless you want to reclear old content. Weekly alliance raid aleeady feel like a chore, you do the same stuff over and over with no variety. Once again other MMOs usually avoid this stuff with how different may one walkthrough be from another just necause different classes solve mechs differently. Also mechs could be more randomized, making you think on the go.
FF homogenized all the jobs, you press the same buttons, more classes have one button more, pr one button less. You will work on 2 min windows for burst.
Its usually more interesting when we get additional skills like in eureka, but the content with it is so scarce...
Dont get me wrong, i wasn't expecting it on first patch. My complaint is mostly that when Endwalker came out I was so hyped about everything, the story, dungeons, bosses, I farmes extremes to get gear, i tried couple of savage even.
And now it's all reduced to me losing my hype over beastmaster and being hyped for crossover. Ehich are both not coming any time soon and I have absolutely no reason to keep logging in, other than to check my house and log off. It's depressing.
Not technical. WAS broken. But go on...
So... fix one illegal service so we can go back to using the other illegal service. Got it.
Idling in Limsa, Ul'dah or some ERP Debauchery Sex Dungeon isn't worth the subscription. Take it to VR or that other game if this is the case.
Factual incorrect statement. Perhaps the vast majority of "vanilla" players that were openly marginalized by this not-so protected class of end-users who were using a function against the TOS finally just had enough. It's one thing that there were people who were using it for the sake of just for themselves, but you have the creator to blame for taking donations (and don't argue with me it was upkeeping a server - money was involved for whatever it was intended for - you're not gonna win that argument in any court) and you have the morons who couldn't keep it in their pants, off the /shout in main cities and off the /tell - and now y'all are in the "find out" stage - not Square Enix.
Enough of this "I'm being persecuted for who I aaaaaaaam" nonsense.
I will agree the blacklist sucks. That I'm 100% onboard here.
It works because normal mode content is a joke and other people are picking up their slack. There is nothing interesting about jobless content, you can just do less. This is not a challenge, it's simply lowering the ceiling. There are no tricks, this person is just griefing.
Going by how the usual patch cycles work, it will be in the tail end of the patch so their aim was already around the last 45days-ish for the average voracious player. After that you get ready for the next major patch which comes in a few days later. We still dont know how the reception for the Deep dungeon revamp is gonna be so gotta wait to see if that also becomes long term main stay after the initial rush.
Ngl im having a hard time gauging stuff here cos at one hand you want variation, mech randomization (which TONS of folk complain about and their newest attempt at trying to break it was with Kirin), job difficulty etc
and at the other hand you like EW levels of hype when aside from the story in msq and panda raids everything else was super snooze which complimented the one button lifestyle (aside from criterion savage, the only place you got kicked around in the nuts)
Separately for the Eureka thing, in case of OC its scarce cos you know the updates dont come till like 7.4 and 7.5 same with how it was for bozja. (Eureka itself being an outlier due to multiple zonesAND WE STILL DIDNT GET THE 4TH ZONE OR THE LOGOS GETTING TRICKLED DOWN TO ANEMOSbut i digress)
Lots of players will see a high level character insisting on not using a job stone and think that player is griefing even if it's a sincere thing and the content runs smoothly. It's just not the intended design.
There is a rare phenomenon with Black Mages known as "Ice Mages" where in a player will only use the Ice based magic. You still do damage, can attack in both single target and AOE, and mana management just disappears since you just don't use it in Umbral Ice. Cryo mage is a gimmick you can play in many RPGs and is a common favorite for elemental RP. It's one you can easily try from early levels, too. But you're still a very crappy Black Mage if you choose to play that way.
I made a alt one day and well I was making a test about how high I could reach before doing msq on dynamis. let's say I was stoneless for well actually a short time took me 5 hours to become a gun breaker at that point I haven't entered sastasha yet was doing LVL roulette 0.0.
like the game doesn't even remotely stop someone from reaching insane LV before forcing them into the msq. LVL roulette is locked until you unlock two dungeon and it was qarn and cutter cry 0.0
