Further protip: if you equip a belt while wearing the mages bottom thing, it gets rid of the lil skirt so your just in panties (at least on miquote)

See the thing is, I did. Three times in a row in fact and all I got were trash drops every time, so the more I try the less motivated I get because i'll just keep getting the trash drops over and over and over again.

It's like getting a Wendy's coupon instead of a medal for winning a biathalon or something.

Thanks for the tips and guides on these leves, 2/4 for Coliseum Gear, getting there, but running out of Faction points now ;_;

Completed the 2nd leve 3 times, got the coliseum loincloth twice ^^

0/6 on getting Coliseum Gear on the 3rd Leve :( And no more faction points, would be nice if there was a way to get faction points quickly, or, quicker, but, meh :X It's leve-grinding time

you get like 10 per lvl 50 leve so just do 10 of them? takes less than an hour :x

Check the camps faction standings before you grind leves out. you'll get more for the faction thats #1 at that camp if memory serves me right

I did manage to get the 2nd leve's reward in the 3rd try, and 3rd leve's in the 1st (I consider myself very lucky there)

Also, Magnesium: You mention "Jellies" in your strat for the 2nd one, and that made me think i'd meet Flan-type enemies, not Jellyfish-type enemies. I did understand it was jellyfishes as soon as I made it through but it is weirdly confusing (it shouldn't be, not sure why it confused me)

As a further note for that leve, as long as you have Hallowed Ground: As soon as you get past the two ghosts, get as close as possible to the jellyfishes, give it a moment to see if you did not grabbed ghost aggro (it's very important, they'll leash back before they hit you but you cannot have aggro on them).
If you don't have aggro, pop Hallowed Ground, immediately get on your bird and run, it'll give you just sufficient time to get all the way up to the target up there, you'll have a huge amount of stuff trailing behind you so don't get stuck on terrain.

I have a curious question as to how the faction leves work, espicially the new ones. I have never done factions leves but with the new coliseum gear and me being a collector I wanted to try and farm them, in case they are also removed.

I know that you have to do them in order to unlock them, but once you finish one, as in 2~4, does it stay unlocked?

Or if you plan to say farm the 4th quest per say, do you have to start back over at #1 and work your way back up unlocking them and same for 2~3, always doing the ones before each try?

So much for being a "solo" leve. :(

Seems like it's impossible without Hallowed Ground, or at least bringing along a friend who has it.

These faction leves seem to be different than the others. So far people in my party have been able to re-do the same ones in a row as much as they want.

leve 2 can easily be done with almost any job.
Choco to crabs
Walk past
get on choco
Choco past 2 ghosts along LEFT path
they will agro but not hit you and return by the time you get to the cave
Go into the cave till the first ghost
walk past it (dont worry if you get agro)
run when your far enough away, then walk again right before crab
when your past the crab by lets say 8 steps or so, run (even if the crab agros it wont hit you unless it gets close)
and your done.

Can do it easily as a war mnk or pld
Can do it as brd thm whm with stoneskin and protect

Im guessing drg can do it but not sure

Dragoon might be able to cheese it with Elusive Jump, but who says you can't just switch over to Lancer and drop Protect/Stoneskin/Sentinel before the crazy dash?

Of course it's not good as darklight armor, but you can put in materia.

edit: i hear you get a golden coffer with high gear droprate if you can do it with a speed run.

Its actually the other way around. The faction ranking at each node/camp reflects which faction is most popular. #1 gives you the least amount of points and #3 gives you the most (its their way of giving incentive to the least used faction, I guess). At a r40 camp the rewards per leve are

#1 - 8 (9 for quick completion = less than 8 mins)
#2 - 11 (12 for quick completion)
#3 - 16 (17 for quick completion)

When you are going to start a leve, check the standings first, and do whichever one is lowest ranked. Sometimes just doing one leve can change the standings making the faction you were doing from 3rd to 2nd, so check between each leve to maximuse point gain

I just did the second quest as DRG easily.
Abilities used: Decoy, Dread Spikes, Elusive Jump (You're almost guaranteed invulnerable to 2 Hits)

-Run with chocobo until First Crab, then walk.
-At 3rd Bridge, cast Decoy and Dread Spikes just before Bogys.
-Ride Chocobo and run as fast as you can until you're about to enter cave.
-Ignore the Jellies and Bogy, run past through until you're in Qiqirn place / turns.
-When turning in, switch to walk on Crab.
-Decoy and Dread spikes should still be up If you screw up by some chance.
-After getting some distance, turn back and use Elusive Jump, then run to Target Area.
-You're done ! (I didn't know Crabs' Ranged "Spit" was removed 0.0)

Last time I went exploring for Aetherytes was 1.18, so pardon me.

Our 8/8 party got 8/8 Coliseum Subligars from a gold chest on the first leve. We completed the leve rather quickly. I got a gold chest from the second leve, while managing to finish it with 01:16 left on my timer. Got Coliseum Loincloth, so possibly there's a bigger chance of getting the gold chest if you can do a "speedrun" on these. . . . As far as I've seen, Coliseum items may drop from other chests as well, just at a lower chance.

Has anybody done the first and not received credit? Went back and talked to the npc but I could not get the second mission. Did I forget to do something?

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but if you go to Leve History Evaluation after completing the first three leves (possibly in order), you can get Wanted: Vengeance without paying any faction credits.

I have confirmed this:
First level 4 times, 2nd once, 3rd once --> History Evaluation = Free 4th Leve!

From this I can deduce you can do any of the first 3 any number of times, so long as at least one of each appears in history.

However, I do NOT know about the following:
Can you evalute a free 4th with ONLY 3 leves in your history?
Does order matter?
What happens if you have the 4th in your history?

that was the easiest one imo. try it on WHM. unless you're just wanting it to be tougher than it has to be.

regen the NPC, and aoe the wolves. there's no rush killing the main target either. the NPC's dmg + your aoe and occasional nukes are plenty. just manage your MP well.

You have to have minimum of 6 leves to do evaluation, and having 4th in history you can still get 4th free, I have 1st twice, 2nd twice and 3/4th once and still got 4th free for a second time, but I also heard from mates I did it with, gettting it isn't garunteed, b/c some have not gotn the quest from evaluation even with 1~3 in the history

I got #1 the first time around, #2 I'm at 0/4 #3 I'm 0/3 (; ;) and I'm yet to attempt #4, but I got it from leve evaluation, which was nice!

Does anyone have a good speed run strat for the 3rd faction leve? I can complete it easily, but it takes me a while, and I end up not getting a gold chest.
