That's a bit different. There is some clipping with gear but you need to consider that you won't have the same gear throughout the lifetime of the game. Whereas if your hair creates graphical issues that's something you'll have to deal with (potentially) forever.

Yeah I know the large majority of gear is recycled models with different textures, but the point is still that hair is much less predictable and kind of limits them in that sense.

I wanna give my lalafell an Afro to add to his pimpness XD As well as chest hair damnit!

Aside from most of the music in the game, the lack of hair customization is one of the major things that bothered me in the game. I can cope with 10~30 minute walks to wherever I'm going as long as I enjoy looking at my character. It isn't even the length of the hair that I wish for, I just wish, more than anything, that there was a substantial variety of hair styles. I was disappointed that the Lalafell had such a lack of options, as well as the lack of options for the male highland Hyur.

So much of the character's bone structure and facial design is really well done, I just wish that the hair measured up to it. Long, short, whatever. I think the most important thing is a massive increase in variety and customization so that each one of us has a character that is specifically ours. That individuality that allows us to identify with our characters is one of the most enjoyable things in a MMO. I really hope that 2.0 gives us the options that so many of us obviously desire.

I would also ask to be allowed to have a Barber Ship / Hair Salon so we can switch it up a bit. Not just for hair but:
• Tattoos
• Piercings
• Higlights
• Tattoos
• Skin Tone
- Leaving basic facial features the same.
• Nail color >.>

Aye the most important thing to me is my avatar looking beautiful. I don't care how tedious anything is as long as I look pretty!

Once I really got down the Character Creation I was saddened by the outcome. 5 options for everything, most of which looked ugly or not cute. I think a Lalafell with a beer belly would be cute and more options for older people. What is with this total pre-pubescent society of Midland Hyurs and Miqote when the oldes PC's in the game are Lalafell's and Highliand Hyurs.

I was a little surprised at one of the hair styles for highlander... the elvis hair.

Is it difficult to find the right type of hair for such a big muscular dude? Some styles on the midlander would definitely look odd on a highlander, imo. Perhaps more viking style hairdos and beards with thick braids perhaps. Longer hairstyles of course. I also think they could do a lot better on the colors. More shades of each.

I think if we go with Viking, definitely longer beards and mustaches would be nice.

Also with more hair styles we should have a variety of hair accessories.

If they can tuck hair under a head piece, I don't see why longer hair can't be drapped over the shoulder or rolled into a bun if it conflicts with a shield, weapon or back piece. And once the back piece is unequipped, the hair goes back down.... Just throwing out a suggestion / possible solution. =p

Personally, I like the idea of additional hair ornaments.

Female Lalafel in tiaras scare me... It makes me think of Toddlers in Tiaras... and the concept even frightens me.

Actually, LL seems to have early colonial influences.

Dreads and the like aren't exactly my forte. That doesn't mean that I don't want them in the game, however. More diversity means more originality, and race-specific gear is a step in the right direction, to an extent. More hairstyles would be even better.

In fact, I think Yoshi-P should implement more hairstyles every few months, and add a barber in each city/small town to change your hair for a medium fee.

Another idea: Limsa Liminsa, Ul'Dah and Gridania all have different cultures, so why not have different hairstyles at each of their respective barbers that represent their cultures? I know Limsa Liminsa and Gridania could use more player traffic.

Anyway, long hairstyles are a pain to animate. There's also clipping issues to deal with, which is why the devs went for shorter hair styles both in XI and here. Be nice if they rise up to the challenge, but yeah.

I don't remember reading anywhere's where they put hair in the same category as capes. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think I am lol.

More hairstyles, the less I look like everyone else. And can we get some hairstyles that are cross-race?

I know when I was playing beta for Tera, it was this way for my character: to keep her long hair from interfering with her clothing, when she was wearing something that would have grossly overlapped, her hair went automatically into and up-style. But the hair was still kind of stiff. But it would still be an idea for SE to look into if they were willing to give long hair loving players what they want. :3

Gotta keep throwing out ideas / examples of what we want / and possible solutions incase of possible conflicts . :)

I looked back on a character I made when I played Monster Hunter Tri, and I have to say that not only was it the first black character I made, but it was the first Character that I was actually proud of and it was the hair options (among other unique features) that made it possible.

Again, just throwing out some examples of what I personally would like to see and of course all hair options / accessories should be open to all kinds of characters whether they be white, black, Hyur, Elezen, Lalafell, Roegadyn or Miqo'te. (Starting to sound alittle preachy lol) :o

I plan on playing FFXIV for the long-haul, and I would like to look at my character with pride and free of reget.

Please.... many more hair styles and allow all races to have each hair type :D I would like to see at least triple the current options. Personally I would like longer hair with big loose curls.

I also would love more hairstyles in 2.0. Some long, some short and as for the Miqo'te mane someone brought up waaaay earlier. I think if they did have manes (Nothing wrong with this). Lion-o's dad from Thundercat's comes to mind.

Also I love the idea of a barber shop. Mostly because sometimes its cool to give your character a new look and well, if your a roleplayer and our guys been out for awhile, we may be able to give them a 5'o clock shadow instead of always staying so silky smooth baby faced.

I know someone earlier brought this up (probably several people), but maybe for a few gil, you could use the barber shop to get exclusive haircuts from that barber shop. Even Tattoos and so on.
I do think the only thing you can't adjust would be your face and your eyes. But I do think like color of hair, tattoos, and hair should be all adjustable.

..though does that mean if you dye your hair black on a Miqo'te that had white hair.. does their tail also become black? :|a On that thought, i think on Miqo'tes maybe dyeing hair form tail should be two different features?
