The second link is a guy going inside their house, triggering the message that auto demo was cancelled, and it being demoed the next day anyway...

And that's literally impossible which is my point, I have canceled a millions auto demos over the past almost 3 years and it always works just fine, as I said there might be like a mess up somewhere, maybe they went to the wrong house or something but it's just impossible lol, when the message goes away you can also see it go away under timers as well
Have to agree. I bought a house on Sophia when it opened up and the email warning comes like clockwork at the 10 day warning mark.
I go over there, step inside, confirm the timer is reset and head back to civilization. (in the hopes that one day, OCE will flourish again, I keep the house...)
When I go inactive on my main (temp due to IRL work, etc.), I also get the email and login promptly and reset the timer buy using the house.
Each time, time passed really quickly and it felt like I had just logged into reset the timer when it actually had been weeks.
make a alt friend it mail it to him
So we're clear, this is what it looks like. If you click it, it tells you more-I just forgot to screenshot that too.

Remember to check your /timers, friends.
Just curious, what other things that never happen to you personally do you not believe happened at all. I'm assuming you've never been to the moon, so do you believe the moon landing was faked? Or is it possible that someone could have had something happen to them that never happened to you?
On the less gloomy side, maybe house rebuying project is perfect opportunity to clean inventories.
I lost my house, too. Well, it wasn't technically my house, but it technically was. My RL friend bought it back in 2.X and started a FC with his brother without me knowing. I got invited to it. Years go by, my friend and his brother go inactive/unsubscribe, and the game gives me ownership of the house and leadership of the FC. I did a pretty darn good job at keeping up on cancelling auto demolition, right up until last month ><.
So now I'm gonna try and make up for the loss by buying a mansion... in Empyreum.
My goal is to save up enough money to get one by Dawntrail's release. Huzzah!
I love how Stormpeaks has been going through this thread taking shots at people who have had a problem with entering their house not resetting the demo timer when Stormpeaks reported having that same problem themselves back in July.
https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...olition/page12
I've witnessed the same thing happening for 2 friends where one of my alts was a tenant and caught the still pending demolition in the Timers.
There is a bug of some sort. It does not happen consistently or according to any pattern that can be determined from the infrequent player reports in the forums but it is very obvious that something is happening. It could be something like the timer was reset on entry but main housing server fails to upload that information correctly to a master database on occasion so there's no lasting record the entry had occurred.
It gets noticed primarily by players who enter their houses infrequently, which makes sense. Those who enter frequently might also be affected by the bug at some point but will not know because a subsequent entry to the house reset the timer before it reached 15 days left.
But how often are you doing it? Once a month? A week? A day?
I have yet to have the problem myself but then I'm in and out of my house daily if not a few times a day. On the other hand, I have seen it happen to friends as I mention above.
In other discussions, it's been suggested that the pending demolition notice gets displayed differently so players are more likely to be aware that their house is up for demolition. I think a better idea is for the demolition notice in Timers be changed so that if the player owns a house and/or is in a FC that owns a house, an entry appears for when the demolition timer for the house was last reset. With more players being able to see the demolition reset information, there's a better chance of finding what is causing the bug and getting it fixed.
The problem with auto demo is emails not being sent out sometimes and that is an issue 100%, that's also why as I mentioned on my post I prefer to use an excel to keep track.
As for the content of my post itself, I really don't remember what happened as the post is pretty old-ish but I still do not believe there is a bug with auto demo itself, what i do think though is that in particular when you multiown, it's easy to skip a house or log in on the character and then not go inside the house by mistake and going on to the next char, there's a lot of factors that have an impact including my own actions.
What SE should fix though is the auto demo emails because I am certain they don't get sent off half the time, that's why every 14 days I log on each character, go inside the house and look at the Timers tab.
Man this ain't even the first time I've heard this. NGL if my house just blew up tomorrow I'd unsub asap and be low key glad to lose the anchor.
also this thread's so weird lol. if there's a bug affecting some people rarely, maybe just let people bring it up and then let square look into it? what's the point in being like "it isn't real because it never affected me!!!" like ok bro lol
It's almost like it's misinformation when people are spreading things that arent facts ? Auto demo has been in the game for years, do you really think if there was a bug it wouldnt be fixed by now ?
Then you have people spreading that "you have to interact with things in the house otherwise it doesnt cancel auto demo !!" which is also misinformation because its simply untrue.
I aint even one to defend SE, I take every jab at them whenever I have an occasion because I think this game is a giant mess, thankfully the social aspect and housing do it for me, and to some extent PVP, so I still love the game, but it's far from the masterpiece people make it seem to be
point is, I hate to defend them, but in this case I have to because people are spreading things that are false.
Why are you still talking? Besides like you’ve said it its an open forum for anyone to give their input as it is your right and mines and anyone’s.
I’ll be frank, my post wasn’t meant to give misinformation as I am a casual player & wondered if it simply had to do with interacting anything within the house, while also there might be a big that’s affecting certain players in losing their homes, I don’t know, you don’t know either, who is to say than the Devs themselves?
PS: I can sense the pure white knight within you, a force beyond reckoning, like an angry chihuahua with a collar of a thunderbolt, here we have it! Stormpeaks the mighty Thunder that’s here to police everyone on the forums.
You truly are an entertainment:)
The fact you call me a white knight is like peak comedy, I just called you out on spreading misinformation buddy.
Also you did not ask, you made a statement, let me give you a little reminder.
It's okay though, I am the nice type so here I'll send you a link.Quote:

Did you try not trolling?
What’s that?
Maestro we’re anticipated to show us your wits:)
The next person who posts in this thread after this post is a transphobe and will be cancelled from the internet for lyfe.
Ok this thread is over. Lets move on
Things change. We all know the game's held together with scotch tape. They update one thing, maybe they break another in ways we don't understand.
My point is it's not really your call to say whether something is working perfectly or not. Better for OP to just submit a bug report and let the actual programmers paid to work on the game investigate it instead.
In that vein, this thread's actually pretty useless since I don't think anyone important even comes here lol. Only reason I'm giving OP the benefit of the doubt is because this isn't the first time I've seen this sort of issue reported and if it happened to me and I knew I'd entered my house, I'd want people to believe me over this company that's always screwing up anyway.
