Hell I always thought of it as a day to blow shit up with a belly full of BBQ as opposed to blowing shit up on any other day.

all saints day is November 1st, all souls day is November 2nd (both catholic holidays). Thanksgiving has nothing to do with religion.

Sorry I missed this, I was grilling burgers, hotdogs, chicken, and a 20lb rack of ribs, swam for about 3 hours, played a dozen games of vollyball, drank 8-10 beers, then watched a mammoth fireworks display. the kids were asleep by 10:45 and I was asleep by 11:30.

And for those that have issues with the holiday, feel free not to celebrate it and have fun. No one is making you.
