Nobody said people didn't watch videos but feeling a need to make a new post every time there's a video you agree with most people don't do that.

I seriously don't care about content creators (which is a stupid reference btw)or what they have to say about this game. There I said it now go ahead and jump on me for it, so everyone can see because we all know you will.
I definitely agree on BLU.
You have ONE content that would be a perfect match for unrestricted BLU and block it because "it'd be too OP"? What a freaking waste of opportunity. Sasuga CUB3.
Yes I did those things and I did them on purpose. Seriously there is nothing in this thread to discuss that wasn't discussed in the other 3 threads that were made correction other 5 threads about exactly the same thing and made by the OP at this point I think the OP and friends are shilling for content creators
What is there to even discuss? Guy is clearly someone who only cares about WoW and raiding, and big shock, he wants the game to be more like wow and be more focused around raiding.
yall always have something to say about streamers
one wants "attention" the other raids, the other does x, the other does y
always a good excuse for yall to bash streamers and say that their opinion doesnt matter
as i mentioned
actual echo chamber of toxic positivity and its so weird
I have to disagree with that. A mindless grind isn't 'good' in my opinion. Adding a billion steps to a relic weapon just to make sure people take months to get one isn't good just because it takes a long time. Eureka is just a chat room (if you're playing on release) with grinding mobs and fates.Quote:
Eureka is such good replayable content
I can respect veterans that have little to no backlog though wanting something to keep their attention for longer period of times though, but I'm not convinced that a mindless grind is the solution. I guess I just play mmos way more casually though. For me, raids and a grind aren't why I play FFXIV at all.
It's good because it's replayable content that is completely optional that has you interact with a large number of people if you choose to. Even if you don't like that kind of content it should still be in the game for those that do like it. People like you can just not do it. ezpz.
Also to the people saying that content creators are now coming out with criticism because of Zepla (so brave) haven't been paying attention because I'm pretty sure Arthars has been bringing this stuff up for a while.
Man, I wish I had your free time for like, a week.
This one's super old, 2 months is like a decade in online time. He already made a couple new videos that should be posted here instead.
Man, you all just take the bait every time. lol
Suddenly, daily, meaningless chores are considered "replayability" nowadays?Quote:
Dragonflight has more replayable content than Endwalker.
It really isn't. It's just another pointless status symbol that realistically, most people don't care about.Quote:
Grinding Mythic+ is boring, but at least it's more meaningful than 14.
Yeah, because turns out the xpac will only have two patches. If this were any other past expac, that gear would be useless in the blink of an eye (that by their standards can take from 6 months to a year+).Quote:
Dragonflight has the best gearing system in any MMO. Every piece of content gives useful gear.
They got what they wanted, and they can move on. Why is that a bad thing?Quote:
World proggers and many week 1 proggers don't even play the game past week 1 of Savage. The more you play the more you understand that. Some of them just go back to playing WoW classic after week 1.
Exactly. That's why Yoshi P has said several times people should take a break and come back when they feel like it. But somehow this just won't get through the skulls of many.Quote:
They don't care about retaining players for more than one or two expansions. They need to start think about player retention.
Why do you want to be chained to a game so bad by FOMO??Quote:
I'd definitely like to see an equivalent to World of Warcraft's trading post
I honestly find this mind boggling.
You find there's not much to do, then for the love of C'thulu go and play something else. And before someone starts with the whole "B-but mah house!" If you don't understand how an MMO works and that every MMO has a period of draught in between xpacs (And boy do I know that since I was playing WoW during the Siege of Orgrimar debacle), then why did you involve yourself in a system which you knew had specific requirements?
Either stop treating an MMO as a game with no xpacs, and use your brain to not get involved in a completely optional thing that it's keeping you around when you don't want to, or just take the advice and play something else. And in both cases, be responsible for your own decisions.
1000% this. You don't have to be married to this game. If you did everything you wanted to do, just play something else and return when they have new things. In that way, you dont get burned out from it (in fact, I have not been log-in that much lately while almost done with P5R).
A thread about a specific video and putting their own takes on it to open up discussion is one thing. We have an entire first page about content creators and it's mostly just re-posted videos. It's not unreasonable to want to come to the XIV forums and have more on the first page than numerous threads pointing to content creator videos.
As I said in the other thread, it's because Arthars, MrHappy and Zepla are very knowledgeable about the game. They are all veterans and Arthars plays multiple MMOs. Their takes are actually more informed than the average person on the forums, I mean the average person on the forums think black mage can't slidecast and that everyone in the top 100 in PvP is a hacker and wintrader.
I would rather listen to a streamer opinion than the opinions from people who think black mage can't slidecast thank you very much.
And yes, I know the streamers are biased because they all play a lot and clear Ultimates, but really go look at job discussion in the role subforums and it's just pepega takes all over the place because they don't know how to play well so ???????
Here's a wild idea.
Why not make your own opinions?
Again, if you're bored, then take a break, I swear it's ok. And if you worry about your house, then tough luck, shouldn't have got one if you actually understood how the periods in between xpacs work.
It's simple: Don't want to stay, then don't.
Want to stay? Then quit yer whining and accept the consequences of your decisions.
I wasn't going to post in this thread as I don't want to encourage a forum of only reacting to content creator vidoes, but I will say this person has made their own opinions on a lot of occasions, and started a lot of discussions about a ton of topics. So despite occasionally being a little peeved with them, I need to be fair there lol.
Thank you for that response.
For this next part, I want to say "I am sorry" to all of the streamers for this next comment but I have to real here.
However, I don't think listening at a streamer for opinions and advice is the best way to go in my humble opinion. You are your own judge when it comes down to opinions or advice and going for somebody who is only there for clicks, views and money is not the best avenue, they might have some good opinions or advice but sometimes they do that for generate more views for their channel.
I got nothing but respect for those who does that because they are willing to put their face out there (never for me) but looking for advice and opinion from them, Nah. Besides there are so many other great places for opinions (Reddit, Discord and others).
Lalafell has been hit with buzz words.
It was not effective.
The game ain't perfect, there's a lot of things I'm very critical of, but I don't constantly spam the forums because I decided to partake on whatever I criticize and then complain because "oh, woe is me, how dare you not taking responsibility for my own choices!"
Not often, from what I've seen as a fairly regular lurker around here.Quote:

And the times I did see them making their own point, it does boil down to them expecting the game to atone for their choice of staying.
For the record, you're being far more civil than I could.
I guess the whole "Acktually, this should be more like WoW" rubbed me the wrong way after being there for 10+ years and only realizing how bad things were over there once I finally took the leap because I'm as slow as a sedated turtle when it comes to realizing things like that.
As I said, there's plenty I'd like to see changed here, but nothing, ever, warrants taking a page from WoW's book, and certainly not when the whole thing can be solved by taking a break.
Toxic Positivity?!?!

Nah, I do respect the streamers and thank them for show FFXIV to the world but for advice or opinions, that would be a Nope! I can understand your feelings about that since I was here from 2005 - 2020. But there is alot of things that need to change and improve but I think they will find their way through it all.Quote:

Funnily enough, one of the things I do in game for giggles, it's hop through the flaming hoops of the armor from Padaemonium whenever I see someone wearing it (and if they're tall), and even with my experience with such activity, I still don't see the connection.
Yeah I played WoW and EQII from their launches till 2014 when I moved here full time and I feel the same. It's fine and rather a healthy idea if MMOs crib notes from each other, mix something up, and make their own version. And I certainly have things from other games I wouldn't mind seeing here. EQII (and EQ before it) had a shared bank system with alts. Do I need to see shared banking exactly? Nope, but some sort of trading system with your alts would be rather nice.
However, sometimes there is the air of "Just take what this game has and bring it here" instead of trying to appreciate what XIV might do differently and why and how that may work better for the playerbase or the design of the game. Especially when something gets proposed for this game that is something that may have made me leave another game. Like when I saw Eureka come out and it had experience loss on death, I thought "Did I time travel and I'm back in 1999 with hell levels and having to get a safety bubble into the next level before I can log for the night?".
mmmhmm

All of these different threads could easily be consolidated into one. It makes a lot of sense to want to discuss what different content creators are saying about the game because, like it or not, they have a voice that impacts players and has a greater chance of influencing the developers as well. But the general page now swimming in Zepla this, MrHappy that... Make one thread, title it "Content Creators on the State of Endwalker" or something like that, and make the initial post just an archive of whatever videos you want to include and update that by editing that post anytime a new video comes out that you want to talk about. Then make a second post that shares your thoughts on whatever, or your sparknotes of each video, and just leave it all there. Let this and the other 17 'content creator said this' threads die so that the rest of general can exist. Whether that thread has any constructive conversation or is just more mudslinging, I don't really care, but keep it all in one spot.
XIV's Trading Post is the mogstation, lol /s
Okay, I'd love to see that too, but what kills the Trading Post hype for me is because it's a big FOMO. Yes they said the items would cycle again, but we don't know when. I play WoW very seldom nowadays, just for story updates, and I missed the Blood Troll outfit from the August TP reward because I wasn't subbed, which is a shame. I didn't want to resub just for that... If XIV implemented something like that I'd love it to have a less FOMO-y aspect.
I'd also like to see more exploration, and at the same time, I'd love if the world could get more attention as well. Currently it's just a piece of nice-looking scenery (debatable in some cases) without anything else going on. The fauna is quite static and boring, there's no little things to uncover, or stuff that gets you to not just explore for the sights, but to actually interacting with the matter you're at.
One of the few things that, for me, WoW has done masterfully across the recent expansions, even the bad ones, is worldbuilding in the physical sense. The world just feels alive, you see a well thought collective of wildlife interacting with each other or the environment, and there's plenty of little reasons to be flying around a zone other than just gathering nodes.
What is one of my biggest wants for Dawntrail? (other than the 2min meta changed) Is that Tural gets to be an actual living world.
Whether we liked or disliked the MSQ of Stormblood is another topic, but I truly share Arthars' sentiment that Stormblood had simply the best PvE, both in terms of quantity and quality, and the jobs were at their prime in terms of design.
This is despite the fact that not everything was perfect, such as the sprint consuming TP.
Personally, even though some dislike RNG, I find that RNG elements like the old Astrologian cards, the old Ruin IV for Summoner, etc., added a certain charm to the job, even though it had its drawbacks.
Honestly, I hope that with the Astrologian rework, they will go back a bit and reintroduce the critical/direct hit cards, the arrow, etc., even though some would certainly never want to see that system again.
FF14 absolutely needs to copy WoW's transmog (glamour) system, full stop.
Should have added: "As long as they support my confirmation bias". Because if they didn't, I'm sure you wouldn't be calling them so knowledgeable.
But you also keep using buzzwords instead of understanding that you chose to stay subbed when you clearly don't want to, and you're making your choice the game's problem.
