AT&T Player in DFW, also completely unplayable for me - both tonight and last night. It's really unacceptable for a game on a paid subscription. Stuff goes wrong sometimes, I get it, but the complete lack of comment by Square to address this shouldn't really be tolerated.
Looks like some gaming news sites have caught wind of the situation:

We’ll see if it puts more eyeballs on the problem.
MAAAAN this is bad, past 2 days have been a mess
AT&T in Michigan here
DFW Texas, AT&T user here, it's unplayable with how bad the lag is. Movement and input is severely delayed. It's at the stage now nothing moves fluidly. Using a VPN DID fix the issue, but it's not something I really want to have to use to play the game. Aware that SE can't do much about it, but just adding it's affecting me severely as well.
Nah, I agree with their statement of communication lacking being kind of bogus for subscribing customers. Like at least a heads up so people don't waste time or money troubleshooting something that isn't on our end
Central Florida, AT&T, past 2 days its been lagging.
Agree with the previous posts. No matter whos fault the problem is, there should be more communication about a problem that is affecting many people. My partner hasnt been able to properly play the game in 3 days. And better performance at 3am doesnt quite count lol. Lets hope that it gets resolved soon so we can all go back to enjoying the game <3
Replying in the hope's SE will see these threads. Game is virtually unplayable for me and many others currently.
Having the same issue here as I was last night. Made the game unplayable, even doing stuff on island sanctuary it was taking 5-15 seconds to register picking up one material. Even trying to do dungeons with Trusts, they are lagging in attacks and their movement is choppy, getting hit by aoes and some attacks/heals not registering at all.
I am on the east coast and also having the lag issues. Even Limsa has observable lag. I would love to finish my moogle tome farming and Pvp series before patch 6.4 but it would be inconsiderate to play with lag this bad.
Horrible lag persisting since yesterday. I'm in Southern Louisiana and have AT&T fiber internet 600Mbps download and upload speeds and this is the worst lag I have ever seen in a year and a half playing. Cannot run any duties and game mostly unplayable.
Can confirm this. I just got disconnected causing me to loose a levemete. I'm using AT&T Fiber Optics 500mps, and I am having terrible lag in game, no issue anywhere but when I play Realm Reborn.
South Louisiana with AT&T. definitely have major lag spikes in instanced content. Not cool - especially right before the end of the tomestone event & right before the 6.4 patch. Hope they get it fixed soon and figure out a way to not have us lose out on the ability the farm tomes & gather materials before the patch.
AT&T Fiber, Midwest. Same 120ms ping with 20% packet loss when normal is 60ms. Instanced content is unplayable in this state. We've all experienced the NTT node hiccuping for a few hours once a quarter, maybe an entire night during primetime every so often. But it's now been over 2 days since it started and no communication or resolution ... hope it gets resolved before the patch.
Same here! ATT Fiber, PST. Good to hear I'm not the only one!
I'll add my post to the pile. I commented on the Reddit thread already, but I'm with AT&T as well. A friend who lives 15 minutes away with a different ISP is unaffected and she's usually the one with lag. I tried doing some gathering to test it out today since any delays would be very obvious. It seems slightly better, but slightly better from unplayable still isn't good.
It is very weird that there has been no notice on the lodestone at all about it since even game news writers have gotten wind of it by now.
Very bad lag here myself. ATT Fiber, east coast USA. Haven't been able to pvp well for a few days :(
That's not really true. They may not own the problem, but they pay a service to the company that does. NTT or AT&T is at the heart of the problem. SE pays NTT. NTT pays AT&T. Someone has a contract with SLOs that are breaching during this. I assure you there is influence that can be wielded here. SE should do that. And it would be nice if they acknowledged the problem because the user base has done a lot of the troubleshooting for them. I'd kill to have someone give me this much information on a tech problem.
FL East Coast ATT FIber and been having the same issues for the last 2 days.
I also started getting bad lag in game since 3 days ago. I tried even reinstalling my game because i thought it was somethin on my end.
Thank you,
Yeah, the route to the server is acting up again for me too. Completely unplayable like yesterday. T_T
I did not call out ATT on twitter and get a reply asking for my zip code so they can look into it. might have told them there are a lot of people having this issue across the country. everyone should take to the twitter space!
AT&T Fiber in NV as provider. Crippling packet loss over the last 3 days. Even affects simple things like gathering nodes & my own house npcs! PvP or anything large scale is so bad I should have recorded it.
I am also having this issue please fix
Having issues too. The game is nearly unplayable. Someone in my FC told me to just not play for the entire week because the last time this happened it took way over that length to fix, but I want to complete my weeklies...
Same issue here as well ATT in IL. Was unplayable amount of lag could not even do criterion dungeon.
AT&T Fiber in Texas. Been lagging like crazy since yesterday and only with FFXIV. Been wondering what was the cause.
Another ATT person, just boosting this to pretend like it'll fix it faster.
ATT customer, SE Wisconsin, had bad lag to ff14 servers yesterday and continuing today.
Created a thread about this yesterday thinking it was something else entirely.
Are we certain this is not some new change from AT&T? The vast majority in this thread seem to be from the same ISP. Currently in Alabama, but an Atlanta GA location in the VPN fixed things for me immediately.
What confuses me is the location that I experience the stutter stepping. In Dungeons/Trials/interacting with my retainer - it is minor. Very slight, hardly noticeable.
But the second I queue into Frontlines - it is Constant.
That's what made me think throttling, rather than a congested data center.
Another AT&T customer from SC. Experiencing rubberbanding and dc for past 2 days :-/
Could be throttling for some and problems with the node for others. It's been constant for me. Retainers not coming up right away. Seeing people rubber-band just walking through Radz. Constant rubber-banding when trying to tank in Copied Factory. I didn't try any other instances because I tried last night and they were torture. Can't go do MSQ things on my alt because the latency makes questing and solo instances constantly unresponsive.
I'm just kind of chilling and rebuilding my shard supply that got depleted working on sub stuff with retainer ventures and reading manga between checking them each hour cause for the moment I can't do much of anything in the game right now. AT&T's support has been less than helpful, but that's par for the course with them.
AT&T Fiber user here in Atlanta. Same lag issues. I feel like this has something that has been going in for months but it has never actually gotten this bad.
