Not true, Diablo III's CGI is just as good as SE's latest CGI, its all a matter of taste and art style though, I can see why some would prefer anime inspired art style over more realistic blood and dirt.

Everything that is not related with the 7th umbral story going to be in 2.0
7th umbral content don't make it to 2.0 or they change the lore about them a bit.

I'm sure all the FFXI fanboys and WOW haters died a little bit inside when they read the part where he visited Blizzard and called it one of his most admired gaming studios.

Even if they hate WoW, it is simply ignorance on their end if they don't realize the successes WoW has been able to achieve over the years. I commend Yoshida for taking time to talk to the most successful MMO company in the business in the benefit of making improvements to his. Yoshida's dedication to the project only helps shows that there is a bright future in 2.0 for us.

Paid mounts I don't have a problem with because they're completely optional and entirely cosmetic, regardless of the price. Server transfers are $25, last I checked, and FFXIV doesn't even offer such a service at the moment.

How did this thread turn into a Diablo 3 discussion.

Am i the only excited about 2.0 having a decent dusk/night lighting cycle.

1.23 is going to be a big set of patches which will last us till beta which will be some point after September (alpha is due to start then).

Odin looks pretty badass. I'm intrigued to find out what his impact will be on the rest of the 7th Umbral Era story and in 2.0.

That's exactly what I thought! Bring on the big changes that are going to lead into 2.0!

I've been looking forward to this since the day the 2.0 PDFs first hit. It's going to be a rough 1 month plus wait. Even after 1.23 hits, I expect more changes to gradually hit the in-game world with 1.23a, 1.23b, etc.

I can't wait to watch the world transform!

I think that "midsummer" is being used here in the more general sense of "the middle of summer" (i.e. late July-early August) rather than the "Midsummer" celebrations in Europe, which are centered around the solstice.

Midsummer to the Europeans is June 21 through June 24 1 of those days... so sometime around then! ( If that's what he means by midsummer!) :P

That Odin screenshot looks epic. I like this theory people have of Dalamud being a prison, and Odin possibly being one of the "In-mates". If you read the update list in the letter, it says "-NEW- Addition of Seventh Umbral Era monsters". Perhaps those monsters are creatures who too were in-mates aboard Dalamud.

We're getting in-game footage, but they're also going to tease the new FMV trailer for 2.0, as 2.0 will feature a new FMV opening when you boot up the game.

Yeah I'm sure the new trailer will feature some form of in-game footage along side scenes from the opening FMV. I think I remember reading Yoshi didn't want to release a trailer without showing the actual product within the trailer lol.

If you paid attention to that Cutscene closely you'll realize he's more likely to turn into 'Ultima Weapon' if any transformation is to happen.

I don't recall how the english localization went but when I did it in Japanese iirc he basically stated 'I'll offer my body as a vessel for it's power"..I don't think that'll hint at becoming Odin, since Odin is a Primal and he's pretty much trying to get Primals out of the way (along with everything else to rule over a Void of nothingness as his partner puts it.)
