TRUE. Someone in game tried to report me for making fun of lalafells.
You went from having a point to: "Ok, boomer."
Jokes aside, I agree 100% there should be genuine skill expression for all roles. If casuals wanna casual they can stay in casual content and not worry about optimizing. They shouldn't cry and complain that they are "gatekept" out of harder content when they themselves don't want to improve. If everyone is VIP then no one is.
That being said, your comments on people talking about their feelings and being "coddled" despite growing up in a psychotic environment that is cranking up rates of depression (referring to the USA) made me lol.
Meh, ff14 has always been a soft game, its been around too long to change. Its almost year 10, they have their audience, only reason for the peak was asmon. When\if he comes back, It will peak again.
This tho. When Aglaia was newer, I'd seen my alliance wipe because not everyone fully understood the balance mechanic during the Nald'thal fight, and I see similar things happen in some of the other less frequented raids (both normal and alliance). But funnily enough, I personally experience the most wipes doing ARR content with new tanks/healers.
So... ultimately, this is anecdotal, and any struggle I witness is usually down to inexperience or just, like, "wow, it's been a while since I've done this one," but it still amounts to the same thing. The challenge is still there, just not for players who frequently run the content in question, and especially when said content is less formulaic than the usual fare.
I vote putting enrages in more(not all) trials. Adds in trials(which they are kind of doing now), More healing checks,(Not mitigation checks, think of Cid thunder God Ivalice Raid), and more reasons for me to position the boss effectively as a tank.
I also add more raid wide damage or special attacks that frequently hit other players besides the tank so that healers always have something to heal rather than dealing damage. They should MOSTLY heal rather than MOSTLY damage.
not to put too fine a point on it...
but isnt the OP a Shb/EW "newbie"?
Yeah, I'm still in alliances at times where people wipe, because of the reasons you listed. Hell, I still have been in wipes in CT or Stormblood raids LOL
Many people still wipe there, especially when it was new. I saw alliances (mine included) wipe multiple times before.Quote:
Literally who is wiping in Euphrosyne
So you'd disagree with the following?
The successful troll operates by revealing what other people are really thinking, not himself. You think the casual and midcore content is challenging? Why not say so? Or, perhaps, you know that he's right and don't want to argue on merit? Because we know the facts are on his side. We know that millions of people started playing FFXIV since 2021 (many of them did not stay). We know that Yoshi-P demanded jobs become more simplified, because he said so. We know that boss hitboxes have gotten bigger to allow for max melee. And we know that "toxic positivity" has been discussed ad nauseam on here and elsewhere. He's not making any of this up.
So what's really going on here? Are you upset at the truth of what's happening to the game? Would you like to pretend otherwise? Why not do so and have everyone evaluate that, instead of mocking the OP? Perhaps people like you are exactly what he's referring to.
If a troll can make a better argument than a regular person, then does that reflect upon the troll's abilities or yours?
I mean, the thread you linked saying Dead Ends was too hard ALSO has "hunky" in their character name. That's, uh... a real interesting coincidence.
Lmao ikr. Crafting doesnt test reaction time. It doesn't even test strategic thinking when you can just follow guides and macros. But it still had depth for people who want to play with mechanics like Whistle. And it rewarded people who put in the effort.
FF14 today is like a welfare state gone wrong where everyone is just handed free 90 crafters.
