Its ok though, all the money this game makes goes into such wonderful live service projects like.... First soldier....and Chocobo GP racing....and uh......................Cloud Strife NFT figurines?
Its a good investment for Square Enix I swear.

Some of these are last week old, but still recent enough. Have Fun
This.
Although they're exaggerating the MSQ bit. Probably takes about an hour if you're not watching cutscenes/button mashing text.
New ultimate is accurate. I don't get why so many people make such a big deal out of it when it's only such a small minority bothers. No, I'm not saying to take it away for that reason, I'm just pointing out that it's not content that something like 95% of the player base even attempts.
Euphrosyne is a bit bland. The design is actually really, really pretty, but people have been speeding through the raid since week 2. Most of the bosses are dying right as they start their transitioning into the second phase, and that's not because the general public is incredibly good at the game or is running it at the ilvl cap. It's because it's easy.
FF XIV is probably still the best overall. I think that says more about the state of MMOs than this game. None of the big hype games are MMOs any more. Blizzard are still rolling with the one they launched back in 2004. Namco's Blue Protocol at least looks like it could be good but there's some concerns about Amazon bringing it to the west after the way they handled some other games.
I think there's a possibility that FF XIV starts to get more creative again now that FF XVI development is wrapping up. I don't see how losing many key staff to that game could not have affected the quality of XIV updates. And I'm finally starting to get hyped for XVI now that I've seen the gameplay slice they let the media playtest. I wasn't a fan of turning FF games into action style but this looks better than the other attempts and certainly above XV.
The success(or missing shareholder's mark) of XVI kinda worries me. SE is in search of a hit after a number of failures. If XVI is a banger then there's no way they don't task CBU III with more games or shuffle people around and I don't even want to think of what would happen if XVI follows the trend or even has a slow start like XV did.
That May-June time frame is a little bit busy too so here's hoping.
So, you're trying to pass off personal opinion as if it's fact? My opinion? The patch content was a lot of fun, I'm enjoying the Variant dungeon and still have a few paths left to do, haven't even tried Criterion or IS yet (but looking forward to), and I just don't really care about emotes, so whatever is going on with them is meaningless to me. The parts of the game that matter to me were a solid triple this patch (not a home run, but still very good).
Sure, but the 'content' we get all just pander to single-player get it and never login for another year playstyle. That's the issue. So it might be good single-player content (it's not), but it's not good MMO content and definitely doesn't come close to rivaling other live service games these days. SE has fallen way behind and need to look around, they look dead compared to the others. Don't need FOMO to have fun, but you certainly need to have content that lasts longer than an hour.
Single-player content, you say? Frankly, I'd love more single-player content. Preferably extremely challenging single-player content that provides gear rewards appropriate for the difficulty level. Better than redoing a fight for the 2390242nd time because one your team's DPS is somehow incapable of recognizing what stack markers do. And the best part? Single-player content is decidedly lower effort to balance and maintain, so it would fit right in with the current lack of effort on SE's part.
Where did I say my opinion was fact lmao. Do I have to preface everything with "my opinion" so you don't get your panties get twisted?
Besides that, I'm sorry to hear your standards are pretty low.
But I am your buddy, buddy bro. It's all good vibes here
While I don't think that the patch had lackluster content (even though it's worse than ShB's equivalent), I'm really baffled that the people who make Mogstation items (that is not the main game team) can't bother to go a little further and separate Alisaie's boots from the top. It's visually disconnected. No new 3D assets need to be created and they're modelled on the different races...
It would be minimal effort to increase sales, because it would make the item attractive. I'm not buying that because it's a one piece set, but I defnitely would just to use the boots separately.
A loaded question only if it makes you stop and think about your motivation for continuing to play the game if you think it's made so poorly.
Just because you log in to do certain things doesn't necessarily mean you're having fun as you do them. A lot of people stick with games they no longer enjoy out of habit.
But good to hear you are at least having fun in part of the game. Considering how many players bash the current crafting system, I'm actually a bit surprised that you're having fun with it.
I blame ffxvi /shrug
I've been hoping to recapture the feelings of excitement I had when Shadowbringers was at this particular patch.
But so far it's been a 'meh' overall. It's okay. Not bad. Not great. Just okay.
It's a loaded question because it 1) has nothing to do with what I said and 2) you can still have fun and acknowledge that the content has been lackluster. Lmao They aren't mutually exclusive things.
Yeah, crafting could be better tbh. But eh, keeps me entertained enough.
Serious question, but are you just here on the forums to be a contrarian?
I've seen you bash the game before, I've seen to critique some of the more outdated bits really heavily, but right now with a lot of people complaining about a lot of the latest releases you're in the exact opposite direct. It's not even sensible half the time, it's literally just pedal to the metal arguing against the whole thread senselessly.
What is your goal if it's not to be contrarian and argumentative?
That 16 grind baby
Now ya know how us XI players felt when XI was the most profitable FF game, but was given backseat status.
Tbh i think ffxvi had ALOT to do with it..its no secret that yoshi wanted to prove his self with a main series entry and no doubt that absolutely pulled him away from ffxiv to some degree. Just my 2gil
A therapist would have a field day with some of the posts in this thread.
Never has the meme "go outside and touch grass" been more relevant.
Yes. In WoW right now.
WoW is horribly buggy, unbalanced, messy lore and endgame has issues, but at least other games know what fun is. Pet battles, Toys, smooth jobs with utility and each with their own iconic abilities, proper achievements and collection tabs, ridiculous amounts of soloable old content with rewards and so on.
FF14 is so sterile, watered down and it feels like all the activities have to be Developer Approved and are restricted by the need to be morally correct. Can't make it rewarding, people will feel forced to do it. Got to make the dailies really short. Got to be accessible! Can't stress the healers and tanks, bland jobs and faceroll dungeons! Can't trust players with addons! Can't have crafting take effort, wanting gil is evil, hand it all over on a plate! Even the story is dull and just there to move the plot forward with a polite overstated "joke scene" thrown in here and there, instead of banter, conflict and real character interaction and development.
I never thought I'd play WoW again, but it has been so damn refreshing to load up a game and find yes, I get gold from everything, I can have my addons, there's gear all over the place, a million pet battles and toys, my achievements are displayed in guild chat and I receive and give out a "grats!" for good ones, side quests are actually worthwhile, everything gives exp, I can buy cash shop items with gold, there's tons of QoL, transmog tabs, so much bag space, crafting from my bank, season events I can spend proper time on ...and so on, without Dad (Yoshida) leaning over my shoulder and saying "oh no, I don't think that's good for you, I'm confiscating that. That'll be 12.99 a month please".
I'm playing other games like they told me to. Sub expires just before 6.4. I am not coming back for this patch or any after it.
Sounds like you enjoy WoW. Which, is perfectly fine and all that. Bit strange that you if you are having so much fun in another game you feel the need to come to the forum of the game you no longer play just to bitch about it.
I mean, if you've moved on...then MOVE ON. Trust, it's the healthy thing to do.
Have fun!
