Yeah, I could see why some peeps would prefer it, but through 3 of the 4 ults and the past couple savage tiers I just never thought any movement was so hard to make me swap over. My friends give me crap for staying on standard though lmao

Yeah, hardly had to touch the mouse at all with FFXI. TBH I feel like they need to make another FF MMO as the spiritual successor to FFXI. This game doesn't really fit as a successor due to all the RPG elements trimmed out of it. FFXI was actually designed with a higher difficulty in mind to attempt encouraging players to interact with each other to work together and complete content. IMO the main thing hurting it these days is probably how dated it is since it was a PS2 era game.
I never touch the mouse if I can avoid it. I still use a modified FFXI keyboard layout and I walk using the number pad on a full size keyboard.
Weirdly enough FFXIV has spoiled me in which I think any new MMOs should have Gamepad functionality. I'm on PC but I don't use Keyboard/mouse but a controller instead.
However in games in which that isn't an option...I have used the mouse for running/walking if I'm feeling lazy and don't want to use my other hand.
Yeah same. I just can't use m&k. I grew up on controller so that's what I stick to.
I'm a weirdo and use a PS5 controller for everything despite being on PC, I grew up on the PS3 version so it's a hard habit to kick, but just like motion controls on Switch shooters, I will eventually force myself to adjust.
I actually use both, using mouse is often nice when you have to dodge but still want to get that attack out that needs you to press 6 or 7 on the keyboard which can be really challenging even for fellas with big hands. Other than that nope who would ever torment themselves with just walking with mouse?
I have my AoE rotations at like 6-7-8 number keys.
So during dungeon runs as DPS, I can put my whole hand in the middle of the keyboard and comfortably hit them and use the mouse walk to dodge mob aoes.
I tend to move with the mouse in dungeons too! I'm left handed when it comes to PC and I'm not used to WASD at all. Mouse movement is a lifesaver for me.
I was one of only 4 mnks on my server with a fully upgraded relic from dynamis. I played XI for 10 years. The game wasn't difficulty, it was just a massive time sink that back in the day required you to be in a group for even the most basic content. I loved XI and have a ton of amazing memories playing it, but I would NEVER play a game like that today.
I use an MMO mouse, have also mapped strafe to A and D with Legacy movement. Basically none of my key binds are stock, I mean why have that customization and NOT use it to your benefit? The way I have things set I basically gather only with my mouse, whilst sipping coffee or other...ahem...beverages. When in combat I use a mix of mouse only and WASD so I can type in chat etc. I do use controller on my laptop a bit, but I find it slow and cumbersome as I never really developed the muscle memory for it. I wish I could, menu access is sublime on controller, but the camera is sooooo slooooooowwww so I usually avoid it.
"wasd" although I use a nostromo game pad otheriwse, would use the keyboard. would only mouse walk if I am taking a drink of tea
