Personally speaking, if I were playing something like Blade and Soul, games aimed at adult audiences in general, or going into spaces open to that sort of activity, then I would place the responsibility on myself for coming across it and either choose to leave or simply put up with it. It has always been there in FFXIV to be sure, and it's hard not to be vaguely aware of the ERP scene after years of hearing about Balmung, but it kept to itself and you generally had to seek it out to find it, which didn't really bother me. What I resent now is having it foisted on me anytime I go to gathering points or want to find a party - though this isn't just about the 18+ side of things, but all the other venues and nightclub listings - it feels intrusive and almost like I'm being pulled into the RP section of the game I've always consciously avoided and didn't ask to be invited to. FFXIV is a mainstream MMO and FF title, yet this sort of thing remind me of those shady online RP chatrooms that used to be rampant prior to the age of social media.
