Limited jobs were a mistake.
BLU has been vastly better content than like half of the attempts at side content they have since tried, so I'd rather see more limited Jobs with their own thing that make use of the already existing stuff to some point rather than dead on week 1 stuff.
I wished we had the open world lvln like Blu has, it is really fun, open world being a highly viable way to get exp.
You say stuff like this and expect people to be kind to you. PEOPLE CAN SIMPLY LIKE THINGS YOU DONT BRO!! My goodness, come on man...I swear I legit try to see you in a better light n have genuine conversation but each and ever time you do stuff like this. This ain't a "us vs them" war dude.
It crazy folks complain about homogenous classes yet hate the one class that doesn't suffer from that apparent issue.. And want to turn into a class with that issue... Do people actually know what they want? I wonder...
BLUs issue is just that it should be updated. We should be at level 80 now imo. I DONT however need it to keep up with current classes. BUT give us more BLU centric content like say...a battle royal. Instead of guns traditionally make it spells that you find.
I say bring on more limited classes but with proper content care
Likewise. I liked how in FFXI I could just roam and level in the overworld at my leisure regardless of whatever class I was. Obviously stuff like Crawler's Nest is good for grinding too and better in several respects, but I don't have that same kind of freedom of choice in FFXIV.
It would be so much better if we could level up like this outside dungeon.
The world of FFXIV is dead outside of the cities. No one roams it because it's flat and there's no reasons to outside of FATES and hun trains.
It's really sad to see compared to other MMO.
Limited jobs had potential. The problem is, SE generally half***es and underdelivers most content that is not part of their standard patch cycle.
Not to mention that it's also more fun to play as a healer than the actual healer jobs we have now.
I'd so be up for a gambler or something like the merchant from Bravely default

It would probably break my heart to see Gambler be a limited job and not a real job :(
My wonder is how many people would actually use the overworld if this were an option. And wouldn't it just help facilitate the notion that the game focuses to much on solo play I've seen around here? If leveling becomes a soloable thing with that much ease that's a tad scary imo.
No matter what SE does with BLU, people will complain. If they didn't release it, people would complain there is no BLU. If they made it a normal DPS job like the others, they would complain there is no spell hunting like in every other FF game. If they keep the status quo, people get upset that it's not a normal job.
While I would have preferred a BLU that isn't limited and gets its spells at level up since I HATED spell hunting in FFXI yet mained BLU anyway, it is critical to think on this: what would a BLU that is a normal job look like and offer that sets it apart from the other DoM jobs? Blue mage's novelty would wear off fast because spell hunting for a normal class in this game simply isn't feasible and if you don't believe that, you're deluded. SE tried to inject class fantasy into SMN and make it actually concentrate on summoning but I don't see as many people playing it and it's sort of it a bad state right now where RDM seems to beat it out in every way except mobility.
If it had its own normal spell list, then it would just be another spellcaster whose visual effects are stolen from a select few enemies from around the game and would need to have something special going on with it in order for it to carve its own niche among the existing DoMs. RDM already covers utility and support really well and sneaks into melee, BLM has pure damage output, SMN has high mobility with just 3 button presses in its rotation that have casting time (2 if you use swiftcast on Ifrit like you should).
One thing I really want SE to do though is to actually commit to and expand their experiments. They decided to keep spell hunting and separated BLU from the rest of their jobs to have its own content and I think it needs more than just spell hunting, the Masked Carnival, and doing old content for titles and mounts. The battle royale thing mentioned in an interview once would be a nice start. It could be a PvP where BLUs need to fight other BLUs and defeat monsters to get spells. Or where seasoned BLUs with tons of spells can use the fruits of their labor on the battlefield and wreck their competition with hard-to-get spells.
They already decided to make their bed in limited jobs so they should just expand the features BLU has because it would be a waste for it to end up like Lord of Verminion, but at this point it's also too late for them to backtrack and make it a normal thing. Just as there are people who want to play it with other jobs in relevant content, there's already people with morbol mounts and BLU LSs who eat up the content that exists already.
Yeah. I do firmly believe BLU could have been added to the game as a DPS and it'd work just fine, it just required a bit of thinking given how unorthodox the concept is. But in the end, what's done is done. And we can't say that BLU is unpopular; a lot of people tried it, a lot of people got it to high levels and unlocked the spells. Square sees it as a good thing. The real problem now is for it to be adjusted to the content we do have, and to make future content for it outside re-running old content and doing Masked Carnivale.
I don't think a PvP version of BLU with our current system works, they'd have to adjust some stuff. But it might be doable. Especially an area for BLUs to explore, a la Eureka\Bozja.
If they want to make more, then they'd need to adjust the content dedicated for BLU to fit the new ones. Otherwise we'll have a bunch of things similar to Masked Carnivale all scattered around, and that might just be taxing on their resources, no?
I will say to my dying breath that SE should have unlocked Eureka for BLU, but adjusted it so it can't access the elemental wheel, instead having to rely on its own elemental spells and some new ones obtained from enemies within (perhaps even their own variants of some of the lost actions) to survive and fight.
4 jobs from previous games come to mind as ones that would only work the way ppl want them to if they were made into limited jobs.
1. Beastmaster (needs pet system overhaul. Aside from that the taming/summoning mechanics I'd see working like FFXI IMO where you can tame certain families of monsters or use consumables to summon them.)
2. Puppetmaster (the main character in this case would be the mammet/automation which would be heavily customizable and able to swap roles or possible imitate other jobs. as for a customization system... tbh I think something similar to what they had in the game LBX would work. You'd have shell pieces which would effect appearance and possibly role. Then an internal section to install part in the style of fitting puzzle pieces together with the internal space growing as you lvl up. This would also require making a large parts catalogue that is a mix of crafted parts, monster drop parts, quested parts, NPC purchase only parts, etc...)
3. Mimic (Don't think I even need to explain why this would only work as a limited job lol)
4. Onion Knight (TBH Onion Knight isn't broken in every title it appeared in. I think a few used it as the "novice" class while I recall atleast 1 title where it was essentially the omni-job that possessed nearly everything from every other job and required mastering every other job just to unlock it.)
With the EXP boost they get for killing random things on the overworld it thankfully takes very little time to lvl BLU. TBH I'd actually like a few changes to limited jobs but not a whole lot.
1. I'd like them to be in sync with every other job in regards to lvl cap.
2. Let them queue things like Eureka and Bozja content where there is no pre-set role composition requirement.
3. Let ppl queue solo MSQ duties with it if they want to.
4. Do something with BLU's weapon rather than just be a stick held just for the sake of occupying the weapon slot.. They don't really need to pile raw stats on it but they could atleast make craftable ones from crafting materials obtained from Trials and Raids that would provide bonuses to certain spells, spell families, elements, etc.
