It is still the case. You find leroy jenkins all the way up to crystal even those days, that keep rushing alone in opener and being wrecked under 5s, and then act all toxic on repeat.

Some jobs definitely carry harder than others, although... to be honest it all boils down to one thing when games are relatively one sided (and I'm not even talking about a game done under 2min, just one sided where the result is pretty much a matter of time): the damage pressure on both sides combined with how people defend themselves. But as long as the damage pressure isn't met, there is almost nothing that you can do but watch your team crumble again and again like wet noodles. Damage gap differences also have that nasty self feeding effect that as soon as your team has been spending all their resources and went into defensive mode, constantly guarding, spamming recuperate, going back and using elixirs if they can, the team damage and pressure drops down even lower and it just snowballs until a wipe, every time.
This is also true in higher leagues, even if people at least know about the guard, recuperate and elixir buttons, there is still a wide discrepancy on skill there. But more than that, damage is king, and people always forget that. You can start looking at other areas in a game like good plays, etc, which WILL make a difference, but only as long as the damage gap/pressure is more or less even, else it's doomed from the start.
