I'm making a presumption that apartments are not housing. Forum posters that disagree with me are also making a presumption. This seems to be due to a lack of communication on SE's part, which we only care about due to a supply vs. demand issue.

The Lodestone post about opening up more houses for personal use acknowledges a supply issue. SE would do themselves a big favor by saying that they plan on addressing housing supply in future patches; what they're doing now does not come close to addressing it.

Without demolition in place and with the wards so full on many servers, this problem could continue for years like it already has.

In my opinion they're going to lose a lot of players over this and it could be avoided.

For myself, when looking at possible future MMOs, I see housing as meaning "A House". House to me signifies, a home, yard, etc. Because of the possibility of mileading or fraudulant informantion, I now search the forums or Reditt to ensure claification before I purchase. These days I take nothing at face value.

It's as simple as no one should have to make a shell FC to enjoy house ownership, nor should someone's multi-house ownership lock other players out of the content due to lack of supply.

Standard "stop blaning other players for the situation and start blaming SE" response. If SE had used a smart design in the first place, none of this discussion would be necessary.

There are literal videos online that show you how to have several hundred mil gil by just vendor flipping as a level 30 sprout... Why would they not have it. I have my actual level 40 sprout on EU with enoguh money to buy a couple of houses and, no my gatherers crafters aint that high level either.

Back under the bridge with ya!!! Was worth a chuckle though hehe. They most likely want a larger home. I started small, went to medium and am content there. I am not the "normal houser" where bigger may be better. Coming to a forum in troll guise and calling others spoiled brats, lazy, etc. will not lend any credence to the blame-game. There are entirely empty wards on Zurvan, I suppose your excuse is "I shouldn't have to create an alt on another server". Your excuses to not do, do not make me (and other multi-house owners) criminal, unethical, unjust, greedy or selfish. We just play the game, and our play is designed for more houses and many of us do it a lot better than you do. What is your play designed for, more whining on the forums?

I do have bridges on most of my properties, feel free to enjoy my gardens under them Besame.

I'm one of those who wants SE to fix the system so every player can be a multi-house owner without impacting the ability of any other player to also be a multi-house owner. Other games do it. It's a shame that SE has chosen not to. Ownership of a house should not be the basis for a prestige system.

By the way, I've had my dream plot since patch 4.2. While I'd like to have multiple houses (nothing better to do with all my gil that keeps building up - you need better gil sinks, SE), I've passed on opportunities I've had because I'd rather see more players able to enjoy house ownership first.

I don't think of you as criminal, unethical or unjust for buying multiple houses. I assume that you're working within the technical rules of the system because the system makes multi-house ownership simple enough if you have the gil and a little time. But are you greedy and selfish? Absolutely. The rules are stated in such a way that possession of one personal house and one FC is clearly the intent and spirit of the system. It is greedy and selfish when you violate the spirit of the rules knowing it locks other players out of content access.

The 'people are lazy' part I would say is the most ignorant part.

Proud of you for having not just one but multiple houses. I too own a house and like many, I still do not think this housing system is fair. People see others with big houses and don't find it fair coming from a digital game. They also don't find it fair they can't get a house in general when they can only get this TINY box called an apt. People want the bigger houses for RP as well and you can't do a lot with a box called a room or apt. We also pay to play the game so ya, I'm not surprised people are upset to see others get something they can't have when there's no explanation as to why. People are feeling mistreated and here you are calling people 'lazy' because they couldn't win a clicking war or win a bid against hundreds of people.

Actually, I'm assuming those are FC wards and most FC do have their own house if not capable of getting them yet cause they're still new or not meeting the right rank for it.
Also, starting on the... 10th I believe? Those plots will turn into personals to help get them purchased. It's like that in a lot of servers. Yours isn't that special, you're just ignorant of what's going on and the way you talk about it strongly expresses it.

Wow, been a while since I've seen such an angry person intentionally starting fights and coming in with such an entitled take. Congrats, you have multiple houses to your name. I don't care. You're right, we know why you are here. Here to give a hyper entitled take about how you slaved away clicking a placard (hopefully not scripted or botted it) to get a house and want everyone to quit their FCs and form new FCs to buy the small FC houses. The problem with your take on everything is that it doesn't fix the problem. It is just another band-aid way of working around the terrible system SE has put in place for limited housing supply. Pretty much everyone else is trying to get SE to fix the underlying issue instead of continuing to band-aid it. Some are going as hard as you seem to in the opposite direction wanting people to lose houses, etc, and that is a bad take as well. Most just want SE to fix the supply so everyone has the opportunity to get a house without having to leave their FC or leave their Data Center.

You do know you don't have to quit an fc to create an fc, right? You do know that not everyone bots and the bots don't always win, right? You do know there are bonuses for creating characters on new servers where there are plenty of houses, right? The thing is many don't like what is available out there and are not willing to put in the work to get there. Suboptimal options can become optimal. You do know you can establish an FC on one server and trade it on another right?

I am not here to say housing is perfect. But I will continue to convey that there is no excuse for not having a house if you want one. The cries here seem to be for wanting it "my way now".
