To be fair it's kind of a similar situation with personals, at least on Zurvan. There are some wards that didn't even have half bid on.
oh boy inflation
You know if it doesn't sit well with you you can just either drop the money to the NPC in 6.2 or you know just buy stuff for that money and discard it effectively deleting the Gil.
Personally I don't really care. People who were affected by#0 bug aren't at fault here and I do think it's a good way to compensate for it by SE. Nothing less, nothing more.
I can only hope what they mean is you can voluntarily pay for the house and therefore you can claim the land, otherwise you won't be penalized for having withdrawn your gil and not claim the house therefore it goes back into the lottery pool. My copium is that they are just getting rid of the 50% penalty for not claiming the house and giving you the option to not claim it if you decided you didn't want it, or you miss the period to claim it. In reality, I have no faith in SE to do anything properly so I imagine there will be a bunch of players getting free houses and I can't wait for that to be the next forum disaster and we can move past mods.
Whatever your position regarding this issue is, whatever if it's unfair or not, the point I want you all to see is, this is the worst decision ever made, cause this decision makes the community confront each other. Similar to the 3rd party tools statement, because of a lazy decision SE is creating a bigger problem than before. I won't enter on the discusion if this decision is unfair or not, I just want to note that this can't be their final decision or the gates of hell will open upon the game, and 2 sides of the community will be confronting each other because of a bad decision made without thinking on the consequences.
Nah it seems that if you're a winner if the 0 bug plot you're considered it regardless of whether you kept your bid in or withdrew it.
They will however add in an NPC in 6.2 to which players that got they house for free can voluntarily pay the money. But that's just it - scout honor thing.
To be fair, you can't accept either the outcome SE has taken. As you yourself seem to be very against it. There is no in between on that either, being more fair.
Also your responses have been very instigatory as well. You are trying to mask it behind taking a high road. But you reply in a way to continue inciting said responses that you're against, by which you claim to be getting off topic.
I mean it's nothing we can change now so I hope they at least do something with that like honor the people who actually did return the Gil or at least show us statistics of how many honest players we actually have, that would be interesting to see.
Because I'd assume it'll be less than 10%. I want to be proven wrong though.
How could SE do this? One week, they enforced their own ToS, the next week, they apologised to players affected by a bug, and gave them the choice to give back the money if they feel guilty. Omg this companys like blizzard IM GONNA QUIT.
Just ignore the fact that the person you obviously know instigated all of this originally and was jumping down the throat of multiple people for having an opinion. He could have stated his opinion calmly but instead resorted to personal attacks.
Let them fight their own battles instead of sending in you to do it instead. They should be willing to defend their own opinion just as everyone else is. If multiple people disagree with his way of speaking...welcome to the forum or any other public social media platform. Can't handle some people disagreeing with you and returning back what you're giving? Maybe don't say anything to begin with.
I was witnessing the thread. I have just as much of a right to my opinion on any subject here as you or they do. And the continued toxic responses from the other party didn't help at all either. And continues to not help. To which it was unwarranted towards myself, just because I pointed out their replies and the way in which they continue to go about them.
The solution here is simple, give everyone from the first wave of plots that happened and failed miserably for a big part of the players, a free pass, everyone gets a house free, period. This is not right that only the people who had this bug get it free and the rest doesnt.
That statement in itself is degrading to me and looks as if you are talking down to me for speaking up and pointing out that the other party involved instigated responses over and over (to which might not be the case, let me add. It just comes off that way to me). To which it clearly worked. Adding the emoticons and the wording in which they used wasn't warranted for somebody wanting to be neutral in the topic and the ongoing posts. Especially when pointing out that it was off topic. Something they themselves did not stick on. Which somewhat goes towards what you said about disagreeing and not saying anything to begin with.
The above post is all the proof I need for their behavior and knowing exactly how they choose to respond to incite such activity and responses out of forum posters. As well as knowing full well what they are trying to do in the process
And I'm getting the feeling the community just waited to start tearing themselves apart. From the past month the only real case I could get behind was SAM and even that got out of hand. The other ones? It's like we really waited for a chance to let out all the vitriol we kept behind smiles we show in game.
All I saw was your boy calling people spoiled and a waste of time. Didn't see that coming out of anyone else's mouth. If someone else wants to treat them in kind, that's their business. I personally will throw back whatever is given to me, it's only fair. What gives them the right to be rude to others but expect others to not give the same treatment in return?
Appreciate your opinion on me though. c:
We should make a correction to that, in which he said the response was not worth the time. In which it was to be dropped until the other party decided to continue on with more baiting and emotes. Just as they have done to me. But I take it you are okay with their actions towards myself and do not see that as a problem, since i have not done anything to warrant such behavior thus far.
Why do you feel the need to respond with emotes and talk down to others in a way in which you know it will incite the responses you have been given? And then play victim as if you have not been toxic in your replies? I haven't said a word to you on this that has warranted the responses you've given. And here you are. Doing what you previously did to somebody new.
Okay, but bbgirl he could have been the bigger person and stopped replying too if he actually meant that. Just as I'm about to do to you since you're clearly here to carry on his fight and not contribute anything to the actual topic at hand.
If it was a waste of time to him, could have left it where it left and not carried it on further. No one *made* him reply to anything, he chose to. Same as you could have by not choosing to fight on for him. Oh well, choices.
*Deep breaths*
I just proposed an honor way if someone really feels terrible that they got the house for free as the compensation for the bug that kept them from getting one for a month.
But hey feel free to let all the negative emotions flow. We've already dropped all pretense of being positive community.
For most players, gil is not the deciding factor on a player purchasing a house. It is the lack of supply of housing. And now, luck. Is it " not fair" that some players might get a house without paying for it? Sure. Are we all 5 years old and still hyperfocused on what's fair and what isn't?
The hard part of this process was winning the lottery. Not depositing the gil.
My hot take; it reads as if they're going by the honor system with this as a resolution, but what they should do is not relinquish the plot until the deposit has been put back in by the winner of the draw--otherwise, it gets put back up for the lottery system the next time around.
I don't have a dog in this fight as I got my house through the painful clicking on plaque until I won on the last day before EW maintenance started.. I basically gave up the game from July until then to suffer through until I finally beat the bots and won.
That being said, I wonder how many of you guys that started thousands of threads complaining and fussing about the housing market, the failed lottery system and how SE just sucked because of it will now post thousands of thread to say you're sorry, that you were wrong, that SE does actually listen and try to make the best of a situation don't worry I won't hold my breathe... you guys love to rail against everything here but never come back and say you were wrong.
In doing this SE has not only stepped up and made it right but shown me they are DO care about their community. I guess you guys will have to find something else to complain about... oh no, there is always SAM and so many other things you guys take so seriously in this game... nevermind..
excuse me? At the time when the housing trouble started I froze then checked the forums. Forums said to keep the money in the entry and I did. My gil is still in the housing ..... should I take it out now? then not put it back in during patch 6.2? is this the advice?
You guys act like the options were "Let them keep the gil" or "Do rollbacks." Is a company not capable of simply removing the gil for the winners? It cant be that hard. Relying on them morally feeling guilty and giving away 20m or 50m for nothing is silly and will only happen for like 1% of the winners.
i mean, some of us have left our money in just to make their jobs easier for the last month even if we were the sole bidder and are guaranteed to get our house, this almost feels like an incentive to log in and claim a refund if i want to keep my gil, i personally don't think i will, but at that rate you might as well just refund everyone that was affected by the 0 bug and won instead of those who won and decided to take their money back
