I'm that's most def the reason. LOL
Why would I when I have you policing it for me. Thanks for the tips....that nobody asked for.
I SOOOO sorry that I can't play like the PC master race....in order for me to MEET your specifications to join your group I need to be better...I must be better...I should go buy a $3,000 PC....a $400 monitor...install a myriad of add ons so that I know when to be on the boss, and when to move 4 pixels to the left...so that I can get a 100% uptime....then have my parse uploaded so that I can show the world HOW F$(@#ING AMAZZZING I AM..... My god this literally is like talking to a end game WoW moron about only wanting people that can be galaxy brain players, and will kick ANYONE that makes the slightest mistake. Seriously the EXACT reason I hated playing WoW....end game was gated by these idiots that needed you to kiss the ring before you were "allowed" to get in a raid.
In fact...no...
I think I'll just continue to ignore everyone with their "tips" and continue to prog with the group of people that are having fun getting better at fights and learning them naturally.
People without AddOns can clear content just fine. Because of a thing called strategy guides. /shrug
Strategy guides don't tell you anything about your dps, whether you're improving on your dps or not, timers, ect. Yes people can clear without addons, doesn't mean we shouldn't have access to these addons. Btw console players have been doing parse runs too and just using other people's logs so they can run them through XIVAnalysis, but I guess we don't consider that? If console players could use 3rd party addons they absolutely would lol
I'm just mostly saying strategy guides doesn't really apply when there's mechanics with tight dps checks. That's something a guide can't account for as that's just your own skill at that point. Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of console players just use other people's logs to gauge their own performance in their statics, but that's just me :shrugs:
The fact that these forums will dig through to find logs and drop them into xivanalysis whenever they disagree with someone really calls into question how much these tools really are for personal improvement.
Just amazing how fast people who say it's only for personal improvement and they only look up their own will reach for it when they get upset at someone. Honestly it's why they shouldn't ever have that functionality in game.
Oh gee, I wonder if that's because people who don't do high-end raiding content are being overly critical of those who do, so when you go check their logs and confirm that they haven't even touched an extreme, let alone a savage, you find out that these people are criticizing you with absolutely no experience with the problem.
But yes, there are times when people are toxic with xivanalysis, that's true. But the majority of people want to use them for self improvement reasons, console players included, people who haven't ever touched the OF and mind their business.
Hey, does anyone else remember the beginning of this tier, when after a wipe the screen would pretty much immediately fade to black, therefore making it almost impossible tell what caused a wipe without looking at third party tools?
How is this difficult? T_T
Go ahead and use third-party addons if you aren't intruding on someone else's gameplay experience. SE will never know unless you tell someone or broadcast it to the world.
I'm guessing it's because streamers have the loudest voice that people are so riled up about this. It's legitimately not a big deal. Streamers should know the risks they're taking by publicly breaking tos.
Because people are sick of players who argue that are playing well without X or saying stuff like "hardcore raids can be cleared by disabled people" when they are objectively playing at a very poor level.
It's a good thing even if it's toxic because we are able to expose liars and hypocrites commenting on high end raiding without the chops to back it up, or worse, when they have clearly never engaged in that kind of content before.
I personally literally never call out these people otherwise.
A while back there was also a guy going around saying other players are shit while claiming to have Ultimate kills. Called Veis_Alvare or something. If we didn't have these tools we might have believed them. But no, one single simple search exposed them to be nothing but a liar.
I know people think this is toxic but I don't care. I despise people talking about issues way out of their depth.
A significant portion of high-end raiders stream as well, not to make money but to evaluate their own VODs to review for mistakes during progression. It's the one single third party tool that eclipses everything else: Twitch and Discord.
And 2 viewer streams are being witch hunted and banned as well so even normal raiders are exposed to this mob hunt.
No need to spy on me. I am telling you directly, I never cleared ultimate. Personally cleared most of the stuff I engaged with MIL, no echo, so your tool will claim I suck at dps, compared to the dps you did on the same content, how do you know I suck if you have no idea how you would perform with the same gear, you compare the gear, not the performence in that case. And I litterally see no objective reason to need addon (except auto calls or telegraphs that are pure cheating) that you need to clear any content. And I don't agree with the argument of "you don't know if you perform well" at all. Everyone that says they are good should be quite well aware of their skills, if you are aware of your skills you should know how much damage you have and there are pretty simple rules that work for every job, like don't overcap resources, don't keep CD skills unuesed and so on. In worse case if you can't see during battle(that would mean you are probably underperforming), you can record yourself and watch after the encounter. Last time I did MIL was with kind of random group at Eden 4, I would say progging to the enrage was total nightmare, but once we were there the boss was ending up between 35-40% and we used striking dummy and half hour to help people improve a bit (mostly muscle memory for their rotations, so they can do it easily when mechanics are happening) and we cleared after.
Lmao you are way out of your depth here. Because of job potency changes, literally every fight under Lv 90 is much easier and their DPS checks are much easier to meet even when toggling MIL. Your MIL does not mean anything unless it's done ON PATCH.
MIL A4S today is far, far easier than on-patch A4S, even with higher ilvl gear, because Lv 60 jobs are absolutely busted in Endwalker.
If you think your MILs are that impressive you would've cleared P4S by now, no? After all we now have 20 ilvls of advantage. Should be very easy now.
The mechanics aren't the hard part of Final Fantasy XIV. The hard part has always been meeting stringent DPS checks while executing mechanics flawlessly.
This is really incorrect, we made tests on the topic (yes, using third party tools). By our calculation if you enter with minimum item level gear +materia, you would actually have more DPS then entering with MIL sync. The point of being easier is valid with old content that was rebalanced because of the changes in the battle system, but not that valid with newer fights.
I will, when my static get bored with Lost ark and finally come to do it because we tryed to organize new one, but unfortunately we are oldies, we can't make schedule confirming every week we will be free in the exact same day for exact same hours and I see people don't want to be involved in floating schedule (understandable).
The direct hit stat also has a huge effect on pre-stb content where it was accuracy on release. Direct hit it free damage that on content there was no equivalent to.
I mean, if you're clearing old content at minilvl you won't be told you suck at dps by fflogs, or if you're any good. I believe you won't be given a number ranking at all because they simply do not do that for anything that isn't on-content. Why would they? You can't make a meaningful comparison when job design and potencies changes between patches and expansions anyway.
ACT doesnt modify the game and gameplay. Its not a cheat, not a bot, not a automation software, no hack and no mod. Please correct me, if I m wrong here.Quote:
2.1 Cheating and Botting. You may not create or use any unauthorized cheats, bots, automation software, hacks, mods or any other unauthorized software or hardware designed to modify the Game and gameplay. In addition, you may not take advantage of game system bugs and exploits during gameplay.
Well give it does give you an edge of sorts, it can be classified as a cheat. Given it can be set for triggers, give out call outs before the game even displays it. Yes i know someone will probably say "What about human call outs then ?" Well humans can screw up or respond late, while a program like that will rarely have that happen or not at all.
ACT is comparable to a calculator. It’s a tool. It displays you the number, (a) unit of measurement. It won’t specifically tell you ”Hey your number is low go improve lol.” right off the bat, because it simply has no power to do so. If you input wrong number… well, it’ll also display you a wrong answer. It’s entirely up to you to get it right.
One can however, ‘modify’ this calculator to be something more, and those are their ‘plug-ins’. This ranges from fluffs (make your calculator prettier by adding cute stickers) to borderline cheating. I.e. showing telegraphs that are otherwise should be invisible and/or showing what mechanic will be happening way, way sooner than what the in-game cues wants to tell you, whether before the audio/visual cue happens or specific dialogue happens.
CMIIW.
So ACT is completely harmless until you modify it to do more than intended. It would be so GREAT if all the snowflakes could get their shit straight before they run their mouths. Do you have a phone? If so you can join the Dalamud discord server and ask questions.
