Not the "yes, compromise your health by screwing up your circadian cycle and reduce your job performance in order to get to play the game because the company cheaped out and didn't properly upgrade the servers" argument.

[QUOTE=Draken-Korin;5736672]My list of frustrations go on and on. I mean tell everyone else to stop clogging the lines there actively working on it sadly all we can do is wait and get creative get up earlier or play early weekends etc. What I had to do as a father. Hello 3am morning when bed was at 10
I have seriouse question.,..
Anyone can answer but...
In all seriouse why bring up "kids" why is it everytime i see that ppl are basically saying they should get their way because their sperm/egg produced an offspring. Shit has always annoyed me even when I was 13..
Cant speak for everyone but why should i care lol
You were warned months in advance.
Then warned weeks ahead of the launch.
You can only blame yourself, TC.
You bought a gym membership. Sometimes, especially during prime time when everyone gets off work, the gym is full and all the machines are in use. Around 3 am to 11 am there is plenty of room, however. You can either wait in queue at prime time, come at a quieter time, or swap to a gym that not as many people enjoy.
And why would I join a gym I don't like instead of demanding the one I like to provide the minimal service they are supposed to provide? Especially since they have extensive funds after selling too many entrance fees and memberships for months and overpriced services but didn't care to improve their infrastructure?
Seriously, if it were for your submissive mentality, guys, we would still be in 1.0 because it would be perfect for you and "OMG they said sorry" and "Other companies worse"
Because demanding it NOW won't materialize bigger premises out of thin air and getting more equipment and rooms takes time? We all know it's the best gym in town and it's not even a contest. They warned everyone in advance that their new upgraded stuff was going to be popular and that it was going to be more crowded at the gym. They are providing access. You just have to wait in queue like everyone else if you want in at the most crowded time of the day.
Would you have preferred that they didn't let you buy the game instead of giving you all the info and letting you decide about buying the game like an adult?
For most people, the answer is very simple.
While you wait, you can do the following; homework, study, cleaning around your room, watch tv, play another video game and if its on pc then have it windowed so you can see when you disconnect and quickly reconnect, watch youtube videos or your favorite twitch streamer, do all the things you normally do on your pc like sift through tabs of reddit, twitter, things your mother would be disgusted and disappointed about all whilst you talk to friends on discord-there is truly a plethora of things that one could do as they wait in line.
Now. But with you, there is a grave difference. With you, you have children.
So here are your following options; Try again in a month dad, because there is no way this would have worked for you regardless of any situation at all point blank period, I am so sorry. Moms and dads! I am so sorry, but this is likely not your time to shine. No one thinks poorly of you for having children, that is a beautiful beautiful thing. But you have to afk a lot and everyone knows in times like these afk timers are a must. They're a must. and you afk too much. I don't know what to tell you. Congratulations, I'm sure they're cute as buttons. Just play with them and enjoy their youth until the hype dies down. They grow up and start yelling at you in a blink anyway-this is the time to cherish what you can. FFXIV will be waiting in the background.
Look at you, acting like this is your first xpac.
Good for you. In the 90 Minutes to 2 Hours I may have to play each day, I am stuck in the queue. I don't care about the Expansion, I just want to continue playing normally. And for all that okay, around a launch things can be crazy, I never had any MMO where I could not play for days because all servers are full. To me that goes beyond acceptable or understandable. First, second day, okay, that's normal. Maybe even first weekend. But after that even SWTOR got their stuff together and players could play. And nope, I don't buy the whole "we don't get any server parts in the market any more", truth is: you don't get them cheap, and the prices are rising. They knew the problem for months and failed to act accordingly.
Honestly, if I am paying for a game, I can expect the game to be working and available, and not being told "oh, with your limited time, it won't work." SE pretends to be a company that respects their customers, if they do, they should have a solution up and running by now.
Honestly just deal with it OP. The current situation isn't ideal for everyone but it's not like they've done the best they could with the limited resources they got available to them. Being an entitled Karen about thing's beyond the control of everyone isn't going to help. Hell im stuck in long queues myself but I'm not going to be bitter about it because honestly it was flagged months in advance just how difficult things were expected to be. If you really don't like the queues just come back in a month once things have settled down a bit. That goes for anyone moaning about the queues unrealistically, demand is greatly exceeding supply on anything computer related, just ask car manufacturers or the general pc community how much of a pain in the hole it's been to aquire certain computer parts like GPU's. I can only imagine how much of a pain it is trying to get hold of specialised server grade components as well.
Posted before, my que kept my place last night and I got it. It's the best we have right now. Deal or leave and play what makes you happy.
Final Fantasy will be alright either way.
I honestly don’t understand all this whining. Troll or not, this isn’t something new in MMO’s. Every game with every new expansion face the same issues
I am pretty sure you cant even find a PS5 in any local store during this Christmas shopping period to boost the sale.
It has same issue, lack of semiconductor.
You must be hiding in a bunker somewhere for too long
Don't even let me bring up with GPU.
How is your luck with 3090?
Oh, you obviously not ware of dock crisis where containers are piles up at port as well
Amen lol.
Got the same issue.
When the kid finally sleeps, I have a 5 hour queue to deal with. And I cant start queuing earlier due to 2002-error (WIch you have like 1 min to react to so you dont loose your spot)
I do however manage to grab a spot early in the morning some days. Thankfully
Look at you, acting like this is your first pandemic.
Depending on the mindset, it does provide hours of entertainment while you sit in a never ending queue. Some people opt to just shove a crayon on their nose for fun too.
Though the latter would suggest the few trolls/posters on here already might...
Probably just a love and hate situation. They still crave WoW's glory before the fall, just like you love an ex you met in the past. I never played WoW but boy do I get sick and tired of hearing it. I miss the days before Blizzard decided to screw over their own franchises.
I don't understand. Just go do something else? They are compensating lost days so you aren't losing any money. Play a different game or whatever until they find a fix and every thing dies down. If you really feel the need to play only FFXIV and absolutely need to get on and suffer the queue then complain later, you got some issues.
This applies for everyone.
This happens every xpac. You'll be fine, move along.
For some players you have to be really ashamed. The lack of empathy is worrying.
Is it so difficult to understand that people who have a job and children also want to have a little fun and relaxation?
You say "read a book, go for a walk" etc.
What if they do that and still want to play FF and can't because SE screwed up?
It's not the gamers fault that they have a life besides video games. Have a little understanding for the frustration these players have. It's really not that difficult.
Oh, this old empathy card again.
The only reason FF14 community established as a better and less toxicity than WoW community is FF14 players mostly origin from FF11, in which, more mature.
Most of us do have jobs and family, but we also have something that WoW community lack of....we understand the difficulties SE currently facing and we are more forgiven.
As long as SE is maintaining a clear communication and showing progress that they are doing their best to resolve the situation, FF14 community in general will accept it.
yes we need as many as possible to send the message. its how a message is sent that this is completely unacceptable.
Seriously dude stop lying. Do you have someone log you in two or three hours before you get home? There are so many hours in the day and I assume you sleep eight hours too? Or do you have such a HUGE laundry list of things to do every day that you sleep one or two? Stop lying and acting as if you are not just as frustrated as everyone else is about this rather huge problem.
MMOs and kids don't mix well. Frankly children need more attention and availability than most parents realize, and MMOs tend to consume one's free time that would be better spent not neglecting their children. I'm not saying OP or anyone else necessarily is "neglecting their children", but there aren't many things more addictive and antisocial than an MMO that can compete with one's personal relationships. The threat exists and takes a lot of mindfulness to balance against.
I think it's great OP has kids. But he should find entertainment that better gels with his lifestyle. Maybe part of that is not being so invested in XIV and approaching it a bit more casually than needing to complete the MSQ on early access or whatever his deal is. I know when my life has gotten busy with other priorities, I managed to make time to enjoy games I didn't have time for by watching lets plays in piecemeal, something which I would have absolutely done for FFXIV if it had interested me at the time.
May not have the same drive time but much like what you quoted, I do work 8 some times 9 hours, usually leave around 0645 and get home around 1715. We have dinner, I login and let it go. Play some games with the kiddo while it loads and fix any errors that happen. But much like most of the veteran players here and other MMOs, I understand the pain SE feels AND anyone's frustrations regarding the issues. The difference is, I don't use a public forum to voice my displeasure. If I get fed up enough, I unsub and go do other things. Only to return when it settles down.
That is the difference between me and other who continue to whine and whine and whine about the issues. Ad nauseum and non stop.
Grow up and either deal with it or move on.
Yeah, SE is in so much pain counting its money from EW, subs and overpriced mounts right now XD
And yeah, in case you missed it, you are using the public forums to voice your displeasure at other player's opinions, which is weird since you can just deal with it or move on.
Idk I think everyone just fed up with issues and excuses.
1st of you do not understand S.E as your just like everyone else here , A player and not a developer, and people have a right to express their frustration.
