Well it is true that I have stood at the Garuda node many times and said "I see dead people"
haha....

You know, I've never heard anyone mention this (And if someone has, sorry for not giving you credit)
But I don't know how I overlooked the possibility that the impact is not the intended result
Dalamud, being man made, could bery likely be a bomb.... a BIG bomb....

ok... joking about it being the bomb MOB, but so serious about it being intended to blow up upon impact
I think the Allagan empire discovered the same Astral / Umbral cycle we know of now, and then created Dalamud for one reason or another, in a way that they knew it would survive into future cycles. So we have to ask ourselves this, for what purpose would the Allagans create a WMD like meteor or a giant bomb that would survive well past their "end of days"
It could serve no end for themselves so they must have left it for future species to utilize in some way. Perhaps a method of stopping the cycle.
LOL
Another thing mentioned before is maybe they sealed Odin inside of that mechanism and launched his ass into space. Cause in 2.0 he is supposed to be a roaming storm of pissed off primalness.
It would make sense and explain why the aether of Eorzea is being drained into Dalamud seeing as thats the "lifeblood" of the primals and they thrive on that.
Ya, there's no way they'll be an actual impact, otherwise 2.0 will look like Fallout rather then a fantasy realm. Judging by how big the "moon" looks it would most likely destroy the world lol. I'm still betting on the energy of the moon bursting out and enveloping Eorzea in it's aura to force a change within it. I"m think by the next big update we should be seeing the phenomenon of the arethyte gates gravitating towards Dalamud since that was in the sketches a while back. Or.... maybe those red gates will act as teleportation devices allowing us to land on Dalamud for the Job weapons since I'm still thinking Dalamud has a connection to the job weapons we should be getting in 1.22 A or B.
Something to ponder... what if Meteor doesn't land? We're all assuming that meteor will crash down, and the changes to the landscape will be a result of the devestation, but what if instead the changes come about as the result of the CURE to meteor?
As we know, meteor is intended to wipe out Eorzea. However, we also know the cities will be largely the same as they were come 2.0. It seems rather odd that the disaster would have little impact on the cities. I'm imagining something like Holy from FFVII: Something coming out of the ground to stop the meteor.
We are? o:Quote:

There are so many scientific inaccuracies in this one post it makes me lol! You need to read up on General Relativity.
This one is slightly better, but the length of the day wouldn't change if the moon disappeared, the moon is very gradually slowing down the spin of the earth. If the moon disappeared, the deceleration would stop, and our days would remain at 24 hour days.
It's just a game anyways! And it's a fantasy game, science doesn't matter.
I'll get banned for this but I have "Acquired" an image of Dalamud in the next patch.
not sure if anyone posted this already.

Fly me to Dalamoon
Let me play among the sky
Let me see what spring is like
On Meteor up high
In other words, hold my hand
In other words, baby, kiss me
Fill my heart with Bard
And let me sing for ever more
You are all I long for
All I summon and adore
In other words, please be true
In other words, I love you
Actually, come to think of it the Conjurer's in the Twin Adder quests have been mentioning something about raising a "Carmine Hedge" around Gridania which, according to them is the most powerful hedge the Conjurers can summon. It surrounds not only the borders, but everything from the sky above to the ground below in a great spherical magic barrier.
But somehow we keep getting thwarted by the damn imperials. >_<
No really I did fine dalamud for the next patch.
I'm pretty sure somewhere in the PDFs it says that the huge change to Eorza came from something bursting out of the ground. So I imagine a huge battle against this Dalamoon will take place right before 2.0. This thing summoned by the Conjurers will put a stop to the Garlean's impact using Dalamoon, but it will also cause an unintended apocalypse, not by the impact of dalamoon but instead by the uncontrollable power of the Carmine Hedge or whatever is used to defend Eorza.
You know, the next patch is slated for the 10th, which is the day the "Welcome Back" campaign starts. (On the 9th at 8pm but close enough). I wonder if they have something big planned for it to try and hook those returnees.
