Yet the game is in the best state, player wise, it has ever been.
THIS is what people say when you overeact, son.

Wow, Yoshida really likes to dig holes for himself.
Now whatever this 'ranch' turns out to be, it's already doomed to be drowned in complaints comparing it to Deep Dungeon. I'm expecting something like the Mog Garden from FFXI, which is like one little area you do some daily login type stuff in. When put side by side with Deep Dungeons it'll probably feel like we lost more than we gained.
I seen enough from this company and dont have patience and any hope like you do. So maybe its my choice to react on news like I want, without you playing advocate? But no, minion boy wanted to say something, and people like you will continue this when they release this abomination. If it's another casual crap, you will tolerate it anyways.
What's the problem with that? Deep dungeons are casual content too. People complained heaven on high was too similar. They'd just do it again. It's already easy to level jobs.
Nothing wrong with enjoying casual content while also doing the harder things the game offers.
I'm also facepalming because at first I read "a lot of content mainly for levelling" and instead it's "for living". So yeah, it really sounds like Farmville instead of PvE.
God for bid we try changing things up once in a while.
I don't mind replacing deep dungeons if they just going to be more of the same. The loss of regular dungeons bothered me more. However I feel like the deep dungeon concept had a lot of potential, and that's also taken away if they're not going to focus on this kind of content. I'm also surprised that of all the things to be cut deep dungeons would be one of them. PoTD and HoH are pretty similar, unless FF14 is designed in such a way that makes templating content really hard adding a third iteration shouldn't take that much in terms of resources. If they were really stretched thin, why not just make advanced versions of the first two with a higher level cap and a couple of unique additions?
Maybe itll be Final Fantasy Harvest moon :>
Implying that Deep Dungeon was anything but "Casual Crap" ouside the upper floors. If it turns out to be bad, I'll be all there with you. But until we know more I'm going to be on the side of "Cautiously hopeful.
Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know they where deleteing HoH and PotD from the game. Must be a glitch with my version of Google Translate.
i have all the minions so i want them all released at once in a minion farm yasssssssssssssssss see them all frolicking about. hehe
Thank god.
DD was the most boring piece of content ever.
I"m a bit surprised. I figured with the skeleton there from POTD and HOH it'd be fairly easy to reuse the same system again with a couple new gimmicks and a new visual aesthetic. I guess we'll see what if anything comes instead.
I'm sorry, but Deep Dungeons are repetitive and boring. I'd rather see what this 'ranch' thing is about. Something new would be appreciated.
Just for the record, I put a question mark in the title for a reason. I'm also interpreting it as they're trying a new type of content instead of DD this time, but it's of course possible they're just pushing it back to a later patch in the expansion.
We're everywhere!
Fine by me, to be honest. I find Deep Dungeon-style of content to be mind-numbing. Curious to see what they do instead.
I just have a sense of dread whenever they talk about some brand new amazing content they want to try out. Don't get me wrong...I want to believe. But.. then I remember Diadem, Verminion, Eureka..and I'm super hesitant. Of course that's not to say that all new content they've tried is terrible. I really liked HoH over POTD. I enjoy the Azim Steppe PVP and doing hunts. I freaking love Trusts because they let me try out a dungeon at my own pace and learn the fights before doing them with others. Just... when I hear "we're going to try out this ranch thing"... I'm all [cries in Diadem].
I wish they could've just expanded HoH for level 70+.
DDs are amazing for leveling DPS classes.
If this is what it seems to be, I am a little disappointed but am a little hopeful that by the time they do get around to doing another one it will be a better experience. Not that PotD and HoH were necessarily bad but it really feels like they pretty much did everything they could with them given the system they were working with. While I'd like another Deep Dungeon I'm not sure just making PotD/HoH again with a new coat of paint would really be all that welcome to me.
How many People actually still do Deep Dungeon?
To be fair, that dungeon essentially gave us a second trial connected to the relic. It's supposed to be at EX difficulty levels. If it pans out well, I'm fine with that trade off given how boring dungeons generally are. That being said, I'm more than a tad nervous they're taking too many gambles here. If we get something like 4.5 Blue Mage, 5.3 will feel incredibly hollow.
Dude. You need to chill. Many of us are extremely skeptical right now but getting your mammaries up when we have no concrete information does nothing. We can't criticise what we don't know. Put it this way, if they do announce some silly farm or garden mini-game to replace DD, you can be assured there will be many people screaming at how dumb a decision this was. But lets wait until we have some information to go with being losing our minds.
Beastmaster comes to mind. They did mention it as a potential Limited Job...
Their cited reason - running out of resources - is a bit concerning, but it depends on what they're currently allocating resources towards, in the end. The ARR consolidation, due to come in 5.3, is probably proving especially taxing. Honestly waiting to see what 6.0 will bring, but if it's void of any decent new content/features I'm going to re-consider if it's worth even staying subbed to the game. Whilst I scarcely care about deep dungeons, I also don't hugely care about "lifestyle" content or more "limited jobs".
Not sure if there's a way to get exact numbers, but I get asked about doing runs often enough I've got two of my alts ready to do potd clear runs now, since I don't have anything else to spend the pumpkins/firecrests on on my main. I know a lot of people that were dying for a new deep dungeon, and we're disappointed about this.
The ranch style thing they're making could be great content, whatever it turns out to be. But some of us were looking forward climbing up/down/sideways in a new area.
I'm disappointed by this news as I've had a lot of fun over the years doing potd floor 200 and hoh floor 100 runs with friends and we were looking forward to having a new one to run. I hope the new content they are trying turns out to be fun.
Yeah I hate deep dungeon as content so I wont personally miss it, but I feel bad for people who were looking forward to it. I felt the same way when they said they were taking another dungeon away since that's some of my favorite content. </3
