Based on what I was reading (page 1 to page 15) they have separated into 2 groups the Guren group (old card system) and the jet black group (new card system) the most voted for comments(within the 15 pages of translation) which are found page 5,9,11,12,14.

All gravitate towards the Guren system, how the jet black system has lost judgemental calls (person even said be fine with all cards the same if had same amount of judgement calls with the cards) and flavour was lost to efficiency.

Opinions matter regardless and that the fact more people are complaining now is a sign that something is wrong with the job and needs looked at.

Do not buff Ast just to increase numbers.

Someone levelling Ast finds it boring and unfun and prefers the Guren system and wish it would return.

Does not like that may have to wait 2 yrs to see any improvements to either card system.



Now this looks so lopsided but the jet black system group do get a good amount of support it is just the Guren system tends to have higher satisfaction within their community (4yrs vs <1yr kinda does that). But based on what I was reading Japanese players are as unhappy as we are and the card system is just as divisive.

Well, healing felt sligthly harder when I leveled from 70 to 80 back when ShB released. But then tanks just multipulled everything and I distinctly recall still having time to dps.

It felt more frantic, sure, but as gear upgraded I was stuck again with the long stretches of healing downtime. It was agravated by the fact I played SCH and the class seems essentially designed to allow the SCH to dps by shielding damage and sustain the tank with the fairy.

On the same note, I remember watching Titania's trial from the Fanfest before release and already noticing the long stretches of healing downtime.

It was clear to me already that despite saying they wanted healers to be more aware of their healing, we would still spend most of our time dpsing.

I couldn't agree more. How else are people going to voice their opinion over a change? Would you rather have people just quit straight up then find out after? We give feedback over something we don't like or like, in hopes for change. Same goes for how people voice their opinions over how other classes play such as the long "Re work Monk" Thread I've seen. When you have so many threads created about the dissatisfaction over the card system, it's not hard to tell people don't enjoy it.

Interesting.

Again it's up to SE to decide. As always though, people are more likely to voice dissatisfaction than satiafaction. I don't think AST will change much this expansion but will see if it does for the next.

I do wonder with the change to the market board tax system ( no longer get a discount based on if you buy from the city a retainer is in):

What is the point of having retainers set to a specific city? Seems to me that it's yet another rushed band aid fix without much thought to the ramifications of other systems.

A system that has been in place at least since 2.0 when I started playing. Why have they determined that this is the right system to change at this time 5 years after the fact?

Honestly I quit playing for a good few months now (Scholar here) after I finished the MQ-
I tried really hard to look at the positives, keep playing healer; I even swapped to WHM to at least do something other than twiddle my thumbs and complain.
I hate what they did to Scholar, I miss the balance between dps and healing/shields and feeling useful. I did't need OP dps numbers (that's why we have dps classes!),
but a few extra debuffs and buttons to click just to keep entertained? I didn't think it was asking much. I miss throwing DoTs then Bane to spread them, I miss Miasma,
yeah it was just a few filler skills but made it that much more engaging.

I can heal just fine, but its so effin boring.

So why keep playing when other games can give a better challenge/reward for my time?
And actually make use of the knowledge/skill set I have playing a healer for so many years?
1 1 1 1 2 1 1 1 1 oh-shi-OGCD- 1 1 1 is a great reward for sticking around...

What's the name of the group that has issues with both card systems?

I don't want to sound bitter and say I was happy the old system was gone when 5.0 dropped. Rather, I was excited for another opportunity to enjoy AST. I have expressed on many occasions why I feel the way I do about the old system, so for the sake of simplicity let's just say I didn't enjoy it, and I eventually dropped AST. Six months have now passed since we got ShB, and just like in SB I eventually dropped AST due to a card system that strips the enjoyment right out of the job.

In my time with the job, which I will admit is not as extensive as SCH but more than WHM, I have surmised that this damn card mechanic is making it extremely difficult to get this job right. As simply a healer, it is just fine. And oddly enough, if you toss the cards right out the window, the job immediately becomes more enjoyable to play. That has got to say something.

Drawing a card should be exciting, and full of anticipation. Right now, I dread seeing the draw and sleeve draw timers getting closer to zero. It shouldn't be that way. We should be looking at those timers tick down and think, "Hell yeah! Card coming!" Each card should have a desired beneficial impact so when it is draw time, it isn't a matter of, "Will this card be beneficial, or fodder?" It would be more of along the lines of, "I know this draw is going to benefit my party. I just don't know how it will."

I went in to the patch notes with zero expectations and still I was disappointed.

Lovely, they nerfed our AoE (WHM) for less than 4 targets.

This is a bit of a baffling change. It makes WHM DPS a bit weaker in raids where two targets come up - it probably doesn't really matter, but AST is already stronger at the high end. On the flipside, WHM is now even better in dungeons, where it did not need any help at all...

I'm clueless as to what SE was thinking with this.

"I expect nothing, and I'm still let down." perfectly resumes this patch for my healer

And that would only be true if tanks will do more than one mob pull at a time. It is strange that that they would make this change.

I had a feeling there wouldn't be changes. Am I disappointed? Yes. Angry? Not really. More of the lines of frustrated but I've been busy with the content to really care much about it. I've come to terms of we're gonna have to wait and be patient if we want things to get done. What got me was there was a change to black mage/ WHM than AST. I thought that was really shocking.

The patch notes say it's 25% LESS, so they indeed indicate it's 75%. But it was 90% and 80% on the second and third, is it is indeed less, for those targets.

They nerfed lily for 2-3 targets. At 4 to more you deal more dmg. That makes you weaker in fights were are multi bosses that are close to eatch other ( the only cases this expansion is in TEA cruiser chaser and brute justice phase or old tied with eden prime adds) so they made it dungeon stronger on mass pulls. The same with blm

We're into, what, month eight of SE giving a slight peep about the car crash masterfully balanced on a lightpole they left us with at 5.0 but really had to let us know some numbers dont line up a crimson-colored job despite the fact that I'm pressing skills that hurt more than half of my button presses in the new dungeon, trial and raid, and all of them when running solo.

Second-class citizen meme status still withstanding and no word from SE, we are left at our own devices to imagine what is going on behind the closed doors.

Edit: This has just been a string of negativity from me so need one dsiclaimer to SE: Should you read this, please know I think your enviroment aritist, animators, effeckt makers, story writers, combat scenarior choregraphers and musicians are still doing a fantastic job and that they should keep it up. Also being a avid fan of how random fishing is, Ocean fishing was a great idea and I've had many highs and lows on the open sea. Please share some of that wild creativity and engagement with those in charge of SCH, I really don't want to keep pressing the same button this much.

What is there to add? SE is either satisfied with how healers function at the moment and/or they have other things they've prioritized fixing or implementing. Unfortunately theres more to the game then healing.
