Mr.Happy and Meoni (for Fashion Report and other stuff)
Zepla hq! She's awesome and so funny!
Frosty is great, I got into him through PVP but I gradually watched more of his stuff and he's great.
Larryzaur's journey to clearing UCOB was so out of left field and it was pretty interesting. I highly recommend watching an archive of it since it's waaay different this his normal goofy stuff.
Meoni is good for showcasing and going over updates if I'm out at work and his voice is really relaxing.
I actually avoid Mr. Happy if at all possible, and have been pretty successful since 2.0. No offense to the guy, but his guides are -way- too long. I primarily use MTQ or whatever other youtuber has it out soonest and 15mins or under (even that's too long imo). Guides should really be concise, purely informational, and offer quality video (slowed / focused) of the moves being explained. Imo, that's why MTQ is queen in this field. The only criticism I have is she doesn't get her guides out fast enough at times.
Personally, I like the longer guides, because the shorter guides often leave out too many things for my taste. Very often I've tried seeing a "shorter" one only to still be surprised by mechanics/patterns that I did not see mentioned in the guide.
Happy is always weird. I remember when Seiryu EX came out he and MTQ both had guides up at the same time, while MTQ treated the entire fight like normal Happy did a very casual explanation and it was way less of an info dump of the fight. I dunno how the rest of his guides fair now, but that was one of the few cases I think he did a better job simply by just being chill about it and it turned a 10 min vid into 6 min of explanation for the highest dps check EX at the time.
I used MTQ for both 5.0 EX's and using it for E3S and it's been great so far but I vary it up more watching perspective vids for whatever role I'm playing to better gel in what I need to worry about.
I liked when Xenosys made videoguides, they went straight to the point and were easy to understand. Otherwise, I don't have a personal preference. I type "X guide" and I watch all of them, since some guides may miss some info that other YouTuber has covered and maybe they will also showcase different strats. Then I watch vids on my job's PoV to see the mechanic "in real time". Though, I'm more of a fan of written guides, since I can read these at work.
Now, when it comes to funny XIV vids:
- ZeplaHQ, she's just adorable and funny!
- Denmo made me laugh more than I'd like to admit. He has amazing video editing skills.
- I don't remember the name, but it was for a voice over contest. Some dude made a vid of the "Garlean superiority" ft. Zurvan and Regula Van Hydrus. It had me rolling.
- And recently...
I found this channel! All I can say about them is:

I love watching Meoni videos, but also mrhappy, larryzaur and work2game. Also when he does content Tarutv.
Drak and NEST content always cheers me up, I love their group dynamic. I've started watching more of Meoni's content and I enjoy his discussions as well as the info he provides for the fashion reports (which admittedly I'm not always good at remembering to do every week >_<). As for raid guides, I generally watch both Mr. Happy and Mizteq and compare notes between them. They both have their strengths and weaknesses when it comes to the effectiveness of their guides.
Larryzaur taught me so much about the classes in their Basically videos.
Drak/NEST
Goldentot
Larryzaur
Meoni
Denmo Mcstronghuge
Mizzteq
I do watch others at times but those are my favs
There are some I used to enjoy but they have different view of the game and community then I do so i stopped watching them. I know he is popular but Mr. Happy i liked till he admitted he is an elitist, which i give him props for, many wont admit that. But Mr. Happy does know what he is doing game wise so if you need more opinions on how to do content look to him as well
For guides I usually like Mizzteq ones the best.
Then I do not really watch community things outside of State of the Realm when there is a big patch.
Mizzteq is good Helluuuuu
I find Meoni to be quite the pervert. There's no reason to point your camera upwards your character's skirt while showing an emote. I don't watch hardly anything except guides that MTQ offers
Mr Happy goes too much into detail over explanations when there's no need, gives me a headache.
When it comes to raid guides, I usually do a combo of Mizzteq and Mr. Happy. Mizzteq's guides are very visual and short which help when you want to get a quick idea before you get into a duty, and Mr. Happy's are longer and more thorough, and I like that he takes time for details and small trivia stuff regarding the fight. Sometimes one forgets something that the other covers, so I find that watching both their guides offers a very rounded experience. Additionally, Mr. Happy for his State of the Realm.
Beyond that I got:
Ethys for Lore,
Bad Wolfy for his armor/weapon previews,
Mekkah Dee for music,
and DrakGamestein, Larryzaur, Zepla HQ, GoldenTot and VeryMerry for comedy/fluff videos.
Favourite Youtuber is Hungrylips.
no favorite other than Mizz for her puns
i just check out whoever is giving what i'm looking for atm (including stuff that is many years old)
some great content is being made for ffxiv - there are some holes that a new creator could fill but on the whole not bad
Shoutouts to ScribbleLiz, smaller channel, but if you like NEST, you are going like her as well. I think what's great about the FFXIV is just how much variation there is, and everyone is super passionate. There is something for everyone. If you have questions there's so many people who are more than willing to help. Even if we are just a bunch of chuckle-fricks.
My favourite youtuber would be Yongyea. He has similair interests as me and also the same views on the gaming industry.
Now that I work 6 days a week I don't really have too much time to look up all of the gaming world news myself and it's handy, easy and fast to just watch his videos instead of spending so much time going to search everything myself.
For this game specifically nobody really. I don't really watch gameplay videos, I'm more of a 'I rather play myself'. And for EX, Savage raids I got a static and we go in as soon as it's released so there aren't guides out anyway. It's also a lot of fun going in blind and learning mechanics with your static.
Take mizzteq for example, she released her Hades EX guide 3 or 4 days ago? Well, I've already cleared it first day and been farming that same day, so there's no reason for me to watch these.
I did watched her Titan Savage guide (a smal part at the end) for a mechanic I had some issues with but things like that don't happen too often.
Mizzteq.
And NEST, because watching them fail in silly ways is a decent source of comedy.
For guides, definitely Mizzteq. As has been stated her delivery is straight forward and clean, she does a great job of breaking down mechanics, her voice is very easily understood; she speaks very clearly. Additionally her guides tend to go over the strategies that you'll most often see in PF groups, and this is very helpful when it comes to learning from what she puts out there. (also the quality of her videos lately has increased pretty substantially)
For just fun content, I really enjoy Larryzaur. His personality is just so likeable, and at least in the Heavensward expansion, he put out a lot of really funny videos mocking the various jobs. Also I had a cameo in one of his videos, since he captured his run of Susano, and I was in that group thanks to Duty Finder, so I gotta love the video I'm actually in haha
Mizzteq is obnoxious, and most of her guides are footage of world prog groups, where she uses week 1 strats that pollute the PF with strats that "work" but only in the sense of speed racing during a world race...in other words, terrible for farming and PF, but great if you want to be a world prog racer.
"Heal and shield as necessary" = I didn't actually do the content, but just do w/e...
Xeno doesn't make guides anymore, but his always showed the mechanic, explained it, and gave you examples of specifically what you could do = he actually DID the content, came up with a VIABLE strat, THEN made a video about it.
Ethys Asher. I love his lore videos, love them I tell you!
Zepla is nice as well. A healthy doze of fun mixed with terrible puns - what's not to like?
Tsuki! Baka Games.
He's incredibly good. A very graceful player. Everything he does is educational and fun to watch because of that.
He hasn't made a lot of content for ShB yet, but here's hoping!
Honorary mentions go to GoldenTot and DrakGamestein (Corey <3).
I rarely watch anything related to ffxiv, sometimes just to check on new content or if im stuck messing with housing or something.
