Sadly, I am not being sarcastic. I really found it very funny the way you chose to type & your text style. I nearly pissed myself I was laughing so hard.
+1
I know right? I feel the need to keep posting to see what he comes up with next. I think it's hilarious!
It's a drop chance... this is why FFXIV will never be able to reach a point where casual-meets-"hardcore".
Players QQ that there is no "farm-able" content. SE gives it to us. Players QQ* because it takes too long.
*Yes, this is a QQ post.
Though I rarely agree with Jinko, he's absolutely right. You ran the dungeon way too many times with little break that you just got pissed off at SE for no reason. Geez, put the game down and take a breather!
Sadly, the drop rate falls under the Gambler's Fallacy. Silly me.
You're both morons, for even supporting Speed Runs.
Also what I have done means jackshit. I frequently watch Live Feeds and been told everything by some pretty pro people who do Speed Runs regular, they all hate it, but they're forced to get all the loot.
I dont even Speed Run DH so wtf has that got to do with anything.
Dont quote me if you're going to try go down the "I know you and you dont know anything" route lols
SpeedRun requires Zero Skill.
You seem angry, perhaps it's that time of the month and you need a ffxiv pad.
I don't think many of us will argue that speed runs are all that difficult, but the ones saying it haven't even done the dungeons yet which is a continuous source of amusement. It still takes coordination, patience, and yes competent players that aren't retarded to get it done. So skill is a relative term.
Back on topic, longer lockouts and higher drop rates prz. If I have to do these things I'd at least like to do them < 1000 times to get my linkshell geared out.
Runs require a strategy. The talent is being able to employ that strategy. I'm not saying it's difficult. I'm saying there is where the talent would come in to play.
Still dont see it, where is the "Skill", there is ways to do a Speed Run and that is classed as Skill because you can define it as a Strategy?
Is Camping in an FPS a Skill because its a Strategy?
Having read all these posts so far, I can't say I have any desire to do either of these new dungeons any more than I would want to do the Darkhold again. My options are to play through my own way at my own pace and be rewarded less for that, or speed run through them 100 times and be rewarded with a shitty droprate. What part of these runs contain the good times again?
Dear SE, Dont make a nice dungeon in future, don't even add mobs, just have a long corridor and a boss at the end, that is all you need to do to for-fill the "skill" of your players.
lols
Maybe I should blame SE for making thinking of such crappy design ideas in the first place, by promoting speed runs. Or maybe I am still wearing my goggles from another game that got dungeons right.
The kind you do with people you can stand, and actually enjoy playing with all patch long.
Not the ones you do out of convenience with a bunch of assholes, spamming the content 100 times a day so you can get your gear in a couple weeks and be done until the next patch (with content and the people, both of whom you are sick of by then) so that you have more free time to craft yourself a few more hundred million gil.
dear premium virtue, please upload a video of you demonstrating your "skill" in this easy videogame. include your best parses as well, so we might better understand how you can possibly be so much better than the rest of us without ever doing a single productive thing with your time.
lolzzz
@op : god bless the noob, dont forget that
Wow...
Lots of hostility here on the lodestone.
If anyone gets alienated I hope it is the hostile people, then we will have less hostility here and I'll be less sad.
So far I am not alienated. But perhaps I seek something from this world that others do not. And those that are feeling alienated seek something from this world that is best served in other worlds, or that they are accusstomed to from other worlds.
Please do not change my world to fit your needs. I am quite happy in this little world.
quote where i said speed runs in this game are really hard, or anything else for that matter. take your time, i'll wait. and while you're at it, quote where i said i was amazingly skilled or anything close to it. i'll wait for that, too.
these are simply straw man fallacies you set up to knock down because you literally have no argument otherwise.
but in case i need to spell things out for you, here:
i never said those things. all i said was you talk a lot for someone who does nothing, and all i did was ask you to put your money where your mouth is.
instead of doing so, you deflect and project.
it's simple- if these things are so easy, why haven't you done them yet? it shouldn't take but 20 minutes of your time, yes?
p.s. i've never designed a website, but i talked to someone who did and he said it was easy. and his site is better than yours. therefore i know all about designing websites and quite certainly have the skill to do so myself if i so desired. your site is dumb and you have no skill, i won't bother proving anything i've said by showing you a website i've designed myself, and you cannot change my mind, etc etc.
Doesn't matter where you said it, you're defending Speed Run as something that is "Talent".
I haven't done them because I don't want to do them, infact if you bothered to care, look at my profile, I hardly play the game because its boring as shit right now. Plus if you also bothered to know I am moving server, I dont hang with anyone on my current server. Cant get much done solo. Just because I havent done them doesnt mean anything, if I did them and kept dying, maybe, but I have never stepped foot into CC, and only been in AV for AF (which is lolz). I dont want to speed run them, I dont even want to do them legit because they dont really interest me right now. Plus I am way to busy on.. other things, which you know off.
Making sites is easy btw so not sure what your analogy on that is, if you put in the time in the end its only experience because really it all comes down to very, very simple Math.
I probably sound more hostile because, well people starting being hostile with me, so expect it, but my main point is: SE should not reward players for Speed Runs and rushing through content, because then what is the point in that content being there if 90% of it is being ignored? Should we encourage this and request the best loot to be only given if you ignore most of the content? Seems lazy. SE should design nice, interesting and fun dungeons, that reward exploration, difficulty and true strategy
You haven't done speeds run for either CC or AV. Infact, you haven't even cleared the dungeons yet but you will sit in here acting like you know what your talking about. I'm not saying speed runs are the hardest thing ever but to say they require zero skill coming from someone who hasn't done shit in the game is just funny. Don't worry, maybe doctor mog will hold your hand through the dungeons after server merge.
speed runs are fine on single dungeons low drop rate. lower lockout
give us long dungeons with like a 1 week respawn, multiple wings and bosses guaranteed drop rate off bosses non speed run challenge or maybe speed run killing x boss liek moogle.
people will quit bitching about how many x runs they do. long dungeon will be your main raid and speed run dungeon wil lb ur off time filler
edit: thats if they are going the whole route of instance only fights i pprefer open world 3-4 day re spawn but that sjust me
The answer to the poster's first post. SE makes you think you're gonna get something grand out of a quest that has required cooldown times but have to repeat several times to actually get it. Here's a formula you'll understand:
More time spent trying to get something that might not even be there = $$$$$$$ in subscription fees.
While I agree the longer they can keep us playing the happier they are. I think there is a vaque no mans land between "too long" and long enough to make exclusive item worth attaining. In fact the two are in direct correlation.
Long time to acheive goal= Most exclusive goal
Short time to achieve goal= Less exclusive goal
Personally, I like things hardcore. The harder, either mechanically or via a silly uber-bad drop rate time sink, the better. Even though Im not busting my arse to get these elusive items/achievements and Im taking my time. When I do get them; I want to feel as special as possible in comparison to my peers.
If everything in the game is as easy as getting to lvl 50, why play the game?
I once read someone say "If you are rushing through the game to get to the end and log out, then why are you playing". The point of the game is to be logged in and to be having fun.
SE's goal should be the opposite of the Fatigue system, and their caution pop-up when we log in. SE should want us logged in and having a good time. I think they need to work on giving us reasons to stay logged in.
Speed runs are an interesting dynamic. Once you have done the run a few times, you will be ready for speed runs and be able to possibly attain the best loot. Part of the problem is low populations and cliquely ls's keep experienced dungeon goers from mingling and playing with others who might be newer.
Although I like that they are keeping some things hardcore. I can see them making it all a lot easier when 2.0 comes out. Its too bad. Having certain pieces of gear in FF11 like Vermillions Cloak at one point, was so impressive. SE has shown with FF11 that they are more than willing to dumb things down and increase drop rates, they just won't currently, to keep all of us masochists playing.
Drop rates are only too low when you cannot reasonably obtain them and get use of them in the time that the drops are relevant.
What do you think is replacing this stuff anytime soon, likely nothing in the next few patches. So suck it up, and realize this content is not meant to be zerged in a week but last you until they have more itemization.
My god you people are a bunch of a whiners, we finally get ANY ARMOR that is actually worth getting, and you whine and moan that it takes too long to get. Enjoy having something to actually look forward to in itemization, and be thankful maybe that you don't have to deal with stupid personal loot lists.
When they introduce content that has other items, or at least get close to releasing it, I'm sure they'll increase the drop rate significantly.
Until then maybe be a little glad you have something to do until 2.0 other than a Garuda primal fight and the legatus battle... Hell I would have appreciated having relevant gear from the roaming NM's from the day they were added until NOW. That would have given endgame shells sooooooooooo much more to do rather than ONE thing a patch.
Put a sock in it, you are obnoxious and no one cares that you can't get all the gear you want in two weeks.
Or you know what buy it on the MW with all that gil I'm sure you have saved up if you really play 14 hours+ a day, and spare us all the headache of listening to you bitch. Go do farming parties or something instead of dungeon and leave it to people who can actually do endgame content without having a conniption fit because "waaaaaaaaah we didn't get what we wanted".
First of all, triple melded armor is superior to the Heavy Darklight Gear. We've gone over the stats and benefits, and triple melded Sentinel Boots + Figthers Breechers >> Heavy Darklight Flancguard (yes, I have triple melded Sentinel Gear). Similarly, a case can be stated for helm+chest piece etc. The DD gear is pretty sexy though. Regardless, to say the gear is actually worth getting, sadly is not necessarily true. We are merely trying to obtain it, because it is the only thing to do in the game.
Second of all, no one is whining here. At all. In fact, I started by saying it was NOT a qq post, but a zzz post implying boredom and apathy, rather than whining. So please learn to read before throwing out rash generalizations about those posting.
And I am glad you are slowly working your way through the game, hoping to get gear. I wish you luck getting full sets of DL gear going about at a snails pace. But let's be clear: the only obnoxious thing here is people like you who haven't put in the time, and who have not suffered the time sinks and yet have the gall to post about us raiding linkshells.
And no I do not play 14+ hours a day. I actually study a lot and have a life. Once again people (i.e. YOU) need to read. I mentioned that we decided to go extremely hardcore this weekend given our free time. Why would I go form farming parties when as an End-Game LS all there is to do is AV/CC?
Honestly, I fail to understand why you bothered to post in this thread at all. It would've been fun if you trolled, but in reality, you really only gave us your opinion which, if you read the thread title, I did not ask for.
With regards to Viion, if you followed the dungeon thread, I was a big advocate for intricate, well designed, exploration dungeons. In fact, I honestly don't know where or why you started posting negatively to the thread. If anything, my thread was intended to call for proper dungeon design and to get rid of the silly drop rates. i.e. Bigger dungeon, more exploration, more bosses, progressive drops etc.
I think I wrote it thinking people read the other threads I posted in lol. I guess I am somewhat unhappy with the structure of the drop rate. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't, however the problem truly stems from the design of the dungeons. Which I believe we agree upon. Anyways, time to respond to this other guy more lol.
Don't turn this into "I can have an opinion too" type crap. Fact is you haven't done the dungeons yet but you are forming opinions off of no knowledge whats so ever. You truly have no idea how these dungeons work but yet you still come in and crap all over of them. 3000+ post??? Maybe you should spend less time flooding the forums with nonstop crap and more time playing the game so you know what you are talking about.

No dark light gear, We're being alienated!
So sad, I have all the knowledge I need to know how it works. I know about everything there is to know. I dont need to play it. You playing it, is just "Watching the screen and seeing it happen" hey guess what! I did that too. I watched streams and countless youtube videos, know all the strategies (or strategy more like it lol) people are using.
Just because you went and played it doesnt mean you're more experience in it than someone else. Could be you just suck and dont comprehend common sense as obvious as others. Also comes down to the individual. =)
