Weird. FFXIVcensus says there is 15.9 million characters on all worlds (which sounds like true considering that some players have alts) but only 700 thousands of them are actually active players. A bit higher in fact since Website checks for certain rewards on lodestone, but still amount of active players is probably somewhere about 1 million.Quote:

Any upgrades to infrastructure would have to be approved and budgeted for which means that it can't be done at the whims of the FFIXV team. Servers and data storage are finite resources so if they need more, they would need to get that included in an approved budget and then coordinate with IT to get it integrated with their other systems. The issue is that they shouldn't spend the time or money needed to increase or upgrade server capacity solely to address 10-minute or less wait times to log in that only occur when crowded worlds are extra crowded during the first month or two of an expansion. SE isn't exactly small. If they are in fact getting more subs, FFXIV is becoming more popular, & having more people then ever flock to it - maybe they should actually do something about the servers with the growing population. I wouldn't accept a game with a 5 minute loading screen. I won't accept a game with a line that makes me wait my turn to get on the rollercoaster either. -

Anyway, with this last bit you're back to directly addressing the login queue itself, which was the only thing I was addressing when I first replied to you. My stance hasn't changed. SE as a company, this game in general, and the game's servers in particular, ALL have problems worth discussing, worth complaining about. Of that there is no doubt.
But if you think that this problem in particular is one of them, that a ~5 minute login queue during the most most crowded, most "hype" time frame of a popular MMOs life is a glaring problem that MUST NEEDS be addressed because it's "unacceptable", then I really have to recommend you think about your priorities in life.
