As always: Queen and Chimera Kill Videos

We just beat it to, its pretty easy. Now to work on the 5 chests.

Grats Kyra :D morph just jumped into vent and told us :D

Marshal kill can be sped up pretty quickly with the WAR using a STR mega-potion and mighty strikes with 3k tp. Dies in about 60-90 seconds. Can't figure out how to get all 5 dungeon chests though. Can only seem to get 3 at one time. Anyone figure it out?

Edit: Or is it 6 chests and 4 each run? I can't remember now.. lol

totally disagree with this and agree with taki, not because we're in the same ls but because there's a good chance that most of the people with this cleared would not had mog not posted step by step strategies. if there was even a tad bit more competition or some real gil to be made (and things for it to be used on, for that matter) you would never give up your strategy.

i whine a lot in general but in no way am i a dick, nor do i want others to fail simply because i have succeeded. if someone told me, step by step how to beat these dungeons before i even mastered the first 20 minutes i would've been pissed.

you can say that people can choose not to watch but if it's there people will watch/read/listen to it, even if deep down they don't want to and even if that person doesn't, someone else will and they'll hear it somewhere. once you've seen it/heard it, there's no way you'll ignore it.

we have the power to change this. post a picture of you with the chests or you with the achievement, please don't spoil it within the first week. if people are really struggling then i see no problem with it

Ok we tanked the Princess in that corner with no problem. Funny thing was, NO MARSHALLS spawned. None at all. Just guards and the little ones.

Have one of your White Mages/Conjurers cast Aerora and Stonera. Helpsss soooo much with the little ants.

so, how is the fight with different party setups?
i'm not gonna do stuff anymore if it requires only ranged classes etc. as i feel like i should be able to play the class/job i like the most when i want to.

i see chimera does some heavy aoe dmg that can be avoided by ranged classes, but has anyone tried this with some more close DD classes?

You can get passed the Princess with DD's.

Our set up was PLD, x2 WAR, x2 WHM, BRD, x2 DRG.
We didn't class stack on purpose for the DD's. It was the participants choice of DD. We got her on the third try since we now know where that damn guard spawns.

We will try at Chimera tonight, scared and nervous at the same time.

Glad to join the party. We refused to watch videos and figured it out ourselves :)! Speed run very much possible. We will post our video shortly. Should help people on speed runs. We used traps to rape it.

The video is how to do it the slow way. There is also a way do dodge voice of the dragon but I let you figure that out ^^

Or you can just completely disable Voice of the Dragon :D

I know this wasn't directly posted at me, but for the record (since we were server first on Besaid), our main WHM didn't log onto the game the entire first day and a half. Most of our LS had school. Two of us went out on Saturday night to drink. On top of that, we all went for 7/7 jobs first before even going in the dungeon.

So despite what you think, not everyone is no lifing for wins. Surprise, surprise: there are skilled players out there like DoW, BG etc. Oh an Da Ra su! :P

And all this hate why? Maybe because you haven't beat the dungeon yet? And even if you did, don't hate on people who enjoy the game for the inner-server competition.

The difference here is, you didn't (that I know of) splatter the boards with spoiler videos and pics as if you hadn't done so many times before just hours after every major patch. Like one has said before, if Mog/BG really had something to lose by posting these vids, I'm willing to bet you'd see a lot less of them. This is why you don't see people posting videos of raw information on how to make the most with the least amount of effort. Doing so would equate Coca-Cola publicly releasing their formula for the sake of proving god-knows-what.

Anyhow, if you really want to post something impressive, fuck the world/server first - show it done with multiple setups and not this liquid cookie-cutter setup that's already formed.

I am so disappointed in Aurum Vale. We tried it for the first time today and got Cyclops down our first run. Morbol down our 4th run. Took us literally 3.5 hours O.O. We didn't watch any strats, just ran in blind and figured it out.

I guess 5 chest will add to difficulty, but now its just rinse and repeat. :(

My videos are the first videos on the web usually, and only tutorial on the web at the time. So explain to me how being the first person to do something, with no information on the web of other setups or strategies, equates to "cookie cutter"?

It doesn't.

Anyone who copies MY video setup (seeing as we provided the strategy AND the video before its found anywhere else) is copying OUR setup. Thus making it "cookie cutter." It becomes "cookie cutter" when people follow my strategy. Its not cookie cutter when I INVENT the strategy.

Try and find a video or strategy posted before my videos of Chimera Kill.

Someone would make a forum post with a setup and everyone would be doing it THAT way. You can't stop this. Don't try. IIRC the NA first kill on Batraal post came with a comment along the lines of "We'll post strats in a couple of days to give everyone a chance to figure it out for themselves" amd was followed by a shit storm of people demanding strats and complaining about how not sharing hurt the community. A good shell is going to experiment with various strats anyways to find the party make up that works best for them, so the cookie cutter builds are really only useful for pickup groups and weaker linkshells. The weaker shells are going to end up going with the easiest group composition regardless of how many different set ups work.

Pick it apart however you want. The fact is, DoW and BG have been posting every initial strat for English speaking players since FFXIV came out.

As for the exact wording of WHY the video was delayed, it doesn't matter. The fact was, people wanted it.
