My favorite thing is the Dissipation now summons the fairy back automatically, now we can finally use the skill.
Lilies aren't pointless, nuff said.
I'm not quite sure. I have to experience the new healing rather than read about it. You know what I mean?
Also, it'll be a waste for me to buy the expansion. I boosted myself when Stormblood came out and I'm still on the beginning quests!

Yeah and like eleventy million players told Yoshi the mechanic was horrible. He popped on and told players to not panic. He wrote that what we read was not the final iteration of what white mages would be.
Then S.E. released our job exactly the same as the version we all hated. I've never been so disappointed in Yoshi. I felt lied to and betrayed.
There was one note during one of the interviews that particularly stuck me.
Yoshi's answer to a question regarding design was along the lines of "We are always looking ahead of where we currently are when we design skills."
FF14 may be the only game to claim to have a 10 year roadmap that I totally believe they can reach (We're starting year 7 now), but that was one of the sore points for me. He speaks from a perspective of looking at the finish line, and while we can all appreciate big picture thinking, the issue is that whether or not we have it later doesn't impact how empty something may feel now.
Theres no question that holy is going to see more use than Afflatus Misery, that's a given due to how long it takes to build up to AM. That being said, it's still a additional spell with 900 potency attack that WHM previously didn't have. Yeah you can only use it once every 90 seconds but I'd rather have it then not have it.
I'm more interested on mechanics im fights that would be requiring its use personally.
They really should be in the first place. WHM didn't just need instant cast heals, they needed them to be oGCD...Badly. If this actually happens, I imagine WHM will be pretty happy with things. And it's not even that big of a buff to...Whatever the damage skill is, since it's still ~90 seconds per use, though WHM technically would get to DPS more while getting it.
AST new skills seem like fun and are quite pretty ^^
I don't mind the card change so I'm ok with it.
I really like the new dps rank from WHM and AST.
I remember hating stone3 (that pesky screen blurr....) and Malefic2 in HW, so it's nice to enjoy the visual of your filler.
What else.... The Afflatus spells seems great to use altough a bit underwhelming. Perhaps making them 1.5s recast would make things more spicy (okayt I know it's not good for weaving but still)
Still no new LB3 animation for WHM and SCH.... #disapointed
It lacks .. "woomph", like you feel it's old.
Same for the BLM and SMN
The problem isn't coming from the design, per just the visual.
The meteor visual is old and looks cheap. (Mostly because most of the visual is "up" when you're looking "down") The Meteor animation tend to enter your camera so you see a part of the rock (like walking through a roof when you see both outside and inside)
SMN one feels bleh, like Arkmorn is shinnier than the 3 spark you shoot. (The wings are cool tho)
For sch it's just, we're summoning Seraph but beside a pulsing aura nothing else happens. And also, the fact that we can now have Seraph in battle makes the whole "I summon Seraph for a lb3 heal" a bit... underwhelming. Seraph used to be a big thing, it's a 2min cd (makes sens we're getting stronger), same could be said for SMN, we used to get bahamut like wings and shoot one of his signature move. Well now we have freaking Bahamut and Pheonix shooting Arkmorn and Revelation every 2min... I dunno.
My generic skills feel stronger (visually) than my LB3.
When the AST does LB3 i mean, that's something, when the RDM use LB3, it's like Vermillion havock-quack-inferno

So that's why, I'm not sure I explained my feeling adequatly but that's the gist of it. It just looks like a generic heal now and some of our skill actually look more powerful.
I'm not asking for AST style retina-burning LB3 but... just something that look strongr than my CD.
so all the whm spells are re-using old cast animations this time, and aero 3 is gone. Is is like this for the other healers? I feel like we were an afterthought at the last second...

While I think that the changes are underwhelming for the most part, I am excited about Seraph! For once it feels like SCH has a capstone that actually feels like a cool final ability! Shame that all of the other changes are pretty bad though.
The Afflatus spell caught me completely by surprise. Finally, something which works with lilies in a positive way. It's a Tetragrammaton without a 60 sec cooldown, and when you cast it, it fills up another resource bar.
That's cool. I can accept a 2.5 sec GCD for that.
This new development is exciting and I'm going to attempt to play through Stormblood so it's worth my while buy Shadowbringer.
