Why am i Save?i dont understand o-o
Don't forget that there's plenty of people in each world that haven't made their decisions yet because they haven't logged in. From what I recall, you're given the option to choose and soon as you decide, you're locked into that choice if your original default server is filled. That means that if they choose to move it frees up a single spot on that server already. By this weekend everything should be settled.
Good thing I'm not transfering XD.
and you are delusional if you think people from larger groups are going to different servers, it's all because of this option 2 that people decides to stay on their server. It will only be people that have friends from other server or have a particular linkshell they are aiming at.
That's hard to discern really. Transfers just begun. Heck soon as I saw the notice at 12:03AM Pacific time I saw Balmung was already filled along with several others though it doesn't really mean everyone's going to be staying. There's still many who haven't really decided and if they decide to move, it will open the door for somebody else to transfer. Unfortunately though this is the result of choosing this option over the original one.
I'm pretty sure SE didn't give us 2 weeks to do phase 1 if they thought it would have been over in an hour and a half.
Its not that simple, many of the spot taken up are by non playing customers, we asked that people weren't forced to move servers and we got that.
Yea it sucks if you want to move server but if you are happy staying where you are then it seems fine to me.
There will probably be another chance to move before 2.0 or after.
As expected there are no numbers next to the server names, I would have thought SE would have the technology and programming skills to update numbers in real time, but no I should have known better.
oh no, Jadi is gonna be pissed. :)
Hiir is happy. :D
Not so much.. I got my move done, for the most part. Core people are moved. It's hard to move so many people but I'm assuming some might even re-roll if they have to to avoid Balmung. lol
BTW Molly I've been meaning to ask you, are you ever going to fix that spelling mistake in your signature, or continue to use it like an idiot for the rest of your life?
What about the poor lses that re breaking up!
I agree this is very annoying for the people who are trying to organise linkshell moves. Its not very nice to leave good friends behind...I think right now all we can do is wait and see if they free up some space before deciding your next move.
I am pretty much 100% convinced the thing is broken.
It makes no sense logically for all of them to be full, where did all the magic players come to fill up all open slots?
Considering if you Leave 1 server to go somewhere else, you leave a open slot behind, there would always be this case with movements.
Unless "staying put" uses a free slot which is just dumb.
Also considering some moved to Rag, who filled up all their slots?
The person posting about it going -0 +1 instead of -1 +1 makes sense.
I agree, Viion, though I don't think it's broken.
It seems more likely to me that they first wanted to let all the EUs move to Ragnarok and make some room on the other servers. They probably wanted to keep the cap as low as possible, to ensure an equal distribution across all the servers. Maybe they were planning to see how it goes and raise the cap if needed.
Edit: Oh wait, maybe I don't agree after all. I'm pretty sure if you don't choose anything, you take up a slot of your default new server. Not sure if that's what you meant though.
Yea they are trying to balance it for different time zones. Must be they filled up with enough JP/EU people, so they closed it. When it's NA prime time again, and EU/JP are sleeping. Then maybe they open it again.
If that is indeed the case, they should have said so somewhere so people didn't flip out.
If thats the case they didn't take into consideration how many EU didn't want to leave their native server. It'll probably all work out in the end.
I figured that SE set a player threshold for each server such as > 3000 or something of that nature. If server A has 3500 people, and only 200 want to move to servers BCDE, then server A would still report as full. This creates a balance among the servers so they don't become heavier than one another.
Mules dont move, you need to pay for the character to move it.
They should have
Number of Current ACTIVE+INACTIVE accounts + Free Slots
The Active people not moving and inactive which cannot move, are a variable on their own. They should have been already calculated, which makes sense because by default you are set to your own server.
I am not forgetting inactive characters but they cannot move. Your 2 inactive characters dont affect "Free Slots" if they have already be accounted for.
This would be true if they did not ALL (almost -2) report full
Server A = 3000, 500 leave, server A on 2500 but still considered full
Server B = 2000, Players from A(500) and C(500) go to B making it 3000.
Now Server B is on 3000
Server A is on 2500
Both are being classed as full, when 1 is not, thus has a server imbalance :)
I can only see it being true if they are hoping more move to Ragnarok/Ridill, tho i think Ridill is fine.
"To apply for a World transfer, an existing playable character must be associated with a player's service account. As long as a player has at least one usable character, a destination World may be chosen for all characters in the service account, including characters that have not yet been paid for."
Yes they do move. Sorce:http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com...c7c72707574cb8
Something has to be broken here... unless they set the cap on each server lower than the amount of characters.
Also about mules, I think the only thing they are concerned with is accounts. As you can only log in to 1 of the characters at a time.
aaawww I woke up and was going to go to Balmung, but I agree something seems broken. Will have to wait and see what happens.
This is gonna get interesting, glad i'm not moving, anyone wanna join me for some popcorn?
I do think SE maybe needs to auto-force some VERY OLD accounts into limbo.. where once they come back.. they have server choice again. What I feel would be a VERY OLD account, would be anyone who has not logged in, in over a year.
This would free up spaces for active players, and keep those who might be taking a small break. Usually you can consider at 1 year, they have forgotten about FFXIV.
Part of my LS was planning a move, and I wakeup 4 hours after the merge starts, and the only 2 servers left, I have no interest in. I sure hope we don't get split up.
SE/Devs PLEASE INCREASE THE ACCOUNT CAP PER SERVER SO WE HAVE CHOICES!
If the inactive players are in the equation. The number either has to be very high (why selbina is the only one not capped.) Or the number is lower then the amount of players on the servers combined to begin with. So when people move a spot doesn't open. up .
