If they can't "innovate" the right way, then at least they could orientate to the type of content they developed in ARR. I miss puzzles (quest with riddles), dungeon designs, where you actively have to go to hidden rooms to unlock the whole map; alliance raids, where it requires actual teamwork in order to progress (such as CT:Atomos!), Unlocking Vistas via weather/time change. Epic raids such as Coils! Seasonal Events, that were actually touching in the story, with better rewards on top (mounts/minions instead of jewelry, which you probably glamour over). Whenever I do these contents, I always wonder how the game could regress to the state it is was to it is now.
And to resume with the main topic:
I don't fear anything. If Square Enix doesn't want to listen into the ideas of the player base, it is their decision on how they will proceed with the game design. The number of subs will tell if it was a right or a bad one.
