TBH, I don't think he did say there was a hint. There were just a few name drops and so we're all guessing ^.^

It's probably too early for hints. A new expansion will probably come out next summer, but we likely won't get any info about it until at least E3 in June, Tokyo Game Show in September, or potentially Fan Fest 2018 in November.
If we are going to Thavnair, there's a very very high chance we will at least get Blue Mage, given its near-eastern aesthetic and the fact that Blue Mage and Blue Magic has already been name dropped several times already. I have a feeling that Alphinaud will be the Scion's Blue Mage as Alisae was the Scions' Red Mage. He wears blue a lot, and has a blue hair tie. This is the very first time we ever meet the twins. Notice both of their color schemes. It was already foreshadowed that Alisae would be the Red Mage.

Going back and looking over the interview, I'll admit I was wrong. I wasn't Yoshi P saying hints of a new job, it was the Japanese players base wondering if it was hints at a new job.
I guess I'm just over excited and hoping for classes that are new and not something we've "seen" in other FF games.
Pretty sure the next job is going to be a Gunblade-themed class.
Someone also threw out the possibility that the it could be a play on a blue mage but based off of the x-2 version otherwise known as the Gun Mage. "ShadowHunter" could also be a play on Fiend Hunter which was a special skill of theirs. If your theory is correct (which would blow my f-ing mind that this was planned out so far back) This would make sense as Alphinau could possibly pick up the job from being around Shadow Hunter.
SE has been known to hint at future classes i.e - Thancred/NIN and Alisae/RDM.
I'm sure Geomancer will show up eventually but that last scene in the MSQ can't be for nothing.
But Dancer and Blu is more popular and more players want those over Geo and Gunblade.
Also we have enough dps until 6.0 (Just my opinion).
If blu does get implemented i think it will be very different then what people would be expecting to fit FFXIV better.
All I can say about this.... is we better get a damn healer in 5.0
I wouldn't say Blue Mage because (of other reasons) there's one job that's even more likely due to what lore we know of the place as well as being among the top three in demand: Chemist, or at least something along those lines. Even if you're just looking at aesthetic components, Dancer would be even more likely due to gamers who think of dancers in a game are typically thinking of belly dancers that would fit into that visual theme (and it's also more demanded than Blue Mage).
Also, any real early foreshadowing content for jobs (including the Alisaie fight) wasn't until the x.4 patch, meaning that we'll probably have to wait another patch to get any real leads on new jobs
They probably didn't plan it out THAT far back. But the fact that they made Alisae a RDM sort of begs the question that if SHE got a job change, shouldn't Alphinaud--and if that, what job would he be if not the "opposite" of his sister? As the Scions have gotten more powerful through the expansions, they have gotten "job changes". Thancred was a Gladiator->Rogue->Ninja. Lyse was a Pugilist and developed more MNK-like skills, Alisae went from ACN->RDM. Y'stola went from CNJ->WHM (had a wand and now has a 2handed staff).
Geomancer is already painfully similar to CNJ/THM/RDM, casting elemental magic. It would be difficult to make them unique I think, especially the AST storyline, which says that GEO is basically just a subtype of AST.
I'm hoping for puppetmaster. Ala Mihgo reminds me a lot of Aht Urgan and Lyse of Nashmeira (especially after that outfit change). She's clearly hand to hand, which makes sense.
Would be pretty cool, but they've made a pretty big point of not taking anything from XI in it's original form so... meh.
I want Corsair for some reason.
Since they're doing Ivalice for the raids, I'm kind of hoping for Ivalice related classes for the next expansion.
From the Tactics games mostly, since 12 didn't really do much in terms of new classes
Calling it now. Gunblade will share gear with Dragoon. Just like Sam shares gear with Monk. Furthermore, Gunblade will be the second job to add piercing debuff, making it another viable option besides Dragoon.
As long as we get something that is vastly different than what we currently have then I'm happy.
Please no more magic based healers.
Arithmetician? We're going to fight people with math (we'll be the bane of schoolchildren all over the world!)? I think Arcanists got that covered. And Templar is pretty much the same thing as Paladin. The only kind of not-redundant thing on that list would be Geomancer (and they have been directly compared to AST a lot in the AST quests)
I’d like to see a shovel based class that allows you to beat the enemies with different types of shovel. Shovel Knight! SHK just think of the endless possibilities you can do with a shovel (whistles)
Well Tsukuyomi had fans. Spoiler dude had a gunblade. The swallow's compass had shikigami which are traditionally used by Onmyouji. That's also the japanese name for the mystic class.
If we are going to Garlemald next expansion we are getting a gunblade class. I am betting since we got two DPS classes last expansion we are getting a tank and a healer this expansion.
The Gunblade "class" has been around for quite a while for Garlean NPCs, most notably Nero before switching to his hammer in the Omega quests and now a new character introduced in what is more or less the outro for 4.3 MSQ. And to some extent Regula from HW, but his's sword being a 2 hander had slightly different animations...
And for roles, they could always go back to having one of each role... If it does indeed involve Garlemald, the gunblade one could easily be the DPS class, for healer possibly Chemist. Since the Garleans aren't exactly able to use magic as stated in SB, they would probably have other means of healing.
For a tank, I dunno from Garlemald, but since Ivalice is a thing, maybe takee the Gladiator class from Tactics Advance and A2, rename it and combine it with Mystic Knight and make it a tank.
I think it will probably be a Gunblade class, mainly because
"Shadowhunter" had a unique stance for a gunblade wielder. Usually, Gunblade users just use the PLD unsheathe stance, but Shadowhunter has a completely new, unique stance that isn't shared with any other job. This implies that they have developed some assets for a new Gunblade class.
Here's his stance: https://i.imgur.com/1Fb8GIK.jpg
could you imagine how crappy that would be for melee classes? having to constantly chase the boss cause the tank is dashing in and out ? no thanks!
I personally think its dancer or geomancer. We are due for a new support/dps class.
I just really wish that existing classes could be branched off of. It would make things so much more interesting. Bard > Ranger --- Lancer > Tank --- Paladin > Healer. There is so much potential within the current system and I KNOW it will never happen. I can dream cant I!!!
Doesn't necessarily have to be a gunblade. The Garleans can put guns on anything!

I honestly think if our next expansion isnt garlemald themed, then itll be jungle themed since we really dont have an area with that landscape yet and 1 new job will be some kind of animal tamer. My clues were from the Byakko storyline.
Yoshi had said in a couple of interviews that plans for a potential third job for Stormblood included an eastern-themed spellcaster along those lines in the form of Oracle from FFT.
The x.3 patches aren't really for transition points so much as ending a primary theme established at the beginning of the current story. 2.3 ended the theme of the scions only standing opposed to the beast tribes with the last beast tribe primal at that time being quelled (Ramuh in this case). 3.3 saw the end of the Dragonsong War with the death of Nidhogg. 4.3 is no different to this tradition by ending the Doma story and thus ending the biggest chapter in the expansion.
When we want to know where the next expansion will be, it's the x.4 patches. Those are the real transition patches, as they close any key loose ends (Garlean threats to the three main nations in 2.4, defeating the Warriors of Darkness in 3.4) as well as providing insight into the next areas (Snowcloak and Shiva in 2.4, introduction of the Griffin in 3.4). Also, if we were just to beeline it for Garlemald, we'd be missing out on a few key places for story that could more adequately prolong the lifespan of the overall game (i.e. Thavnair, Nagxia, Sharlaya, Hingashi proper, Aerslaent and pretty much any area on a map of Eorzea that isn't Garlemald).
Spoiler below, read if you dare~
Given that they zoomed in on the ascian-hunter (mercenary)'s gunblade and made him all mysterious and important-like, I'm 90% sure it's going to be a gunblade class.
I haven't read this whole thread, so I am just going to put my thoughts here, which may be repeating what other people have said.
1) It does look like we're headed to the Garlean Empire. It also may be that we're heading to Thavnair, if my hunch about their embassy is correct. I don't think SE would just randomly place these buildings in Kugane. It's also consistent with Garlemald playing a role up to and in 6.0.
2) I've heard it said that the devs were teasing a job in the patch.
3) We know that a job was cut from SB and was to have an Onmyoji style to it, and in an interview similarities to the Oracle job were confirmed. The last job which was cut (from 2.0) was SAM. https://twinfinite.net/2017/03/ffxiv...job-interview/
4) Yoshi-P has stated that DNC has a connection to Thavnair and they may introduce it at some point.
Taking all this, I would say gunblade or a fusion of the Oracle/Mystic/Geomancer is likely. Given that a job along the lines of the latter was cut, it reinforces my view that we will see a job along these lines emerge. There is also a niche for a more support-driven caster type job, which focuses on buffs/debuffs.
It depends on how many jobs they plan to introduce. If it's 3, my money is on DNC (Thavnair), Gunblade (Garlemald) and Oracle. If it's two, it's harder to say. Gunblade has not been fleshed out as yet, but they did tease RDM towards the end of 3.0 through Alisaie. Still, I don't think there was enough of it showcased in this patch to say it is for definite the job which was teased; I still suspect it will make it in, perhaps as a tank, and DNC as a potential healer. I have to say, I would really love a caster along the lines described by Yoshi-P in the interview, and if they intend to use the bell as its weapon, so much the better! I would definitely play that.
My personal view is there's probably enough content for a 6.0, which could include Sharlayan (which will bring BLU), the New World (maybe a beast tamer type job) and possibly some other areas which will deal with the "true" threats the world faces, so they would not be burning through jobs too quickly if they brought in 3 for 5.0.
Re the OP, I think Sage is highly unlikely, for one because there's already two staff users, and for another, because it's essentially already implemented through other jobs. It'd be a Sage in naught but name.
Considering how much territory Garlemald occupies, that is quite a lot. Also, Hingashi proper - if it is to come - will be dealt with in this expansion. It's too similar to Doma to spin into a territory for the expansion and the requisite themes for dealing with it are already in place. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to venture there, but if it is dealt with, it'll be in 4.0.
There is nothing stopping them from putting two or more regions in an expansion, e.g. Thavnair, Garlemald proper, and other territories of the Empire. Moreover, there's nothing stopping them adding Sharlayan etc. later on. So I don't think this is a particularly strong point. We will need to head to Garlemald at some point, and they are putting in place all the prerequisites to have a reason to go there, as the Emperor is now more open to diplomacy and Elidibus is up to something. The Garleans are not the real villains in the setting, so much as antagonists who differ on how primals should be subdued, so they have significantly more scope to work through such content in 6.0 when it comes to dealing with the actual threat, which is likely to be Zodiark and his servants, or perhaps some other, yet greater threat. In that respect, going to Garlemald does not imply any other areas are gone as options. For any option they chose to add, others would be put on the shelf for the time being... Inevitably, x.4 will be dealing with Garlean affairs, anyway, in the very likely event that it picks up where we left off. Nonetheless, I hope the job in question is the Oracle.
In regards to your comment on gunblades being "impractical", I don't see how it matters. They can implement it in a way that it is practical. If you mean the design, well... it's fantasy, so I doubt they care overly much as they can write it so that it is practical in the setting's terms. If you mean game design, again, it's all down to their creativity.
They're not mutually exclusive. Gunblade would be "original" in FF terms as no job has actually been built around the weapon in its entirety. The only archived jobs they have left (and I am excluding one-trick ponies or jobs who've had their abilities subsumed into other jobs) are: Oracle/Mystic/Geomancer; Blue Mage; Dancer; Beast tamer. All the rest have been implemented in some fashion, or other. Regarding people mentioning blunt weapons, any of these archived jobs could serve this purpose. I'm not a GBL enthusiast myself, and would prefer the Oracle, but again, they will be adding 2 jobs, perhaps even 3, so it's not the end of the world if one of them is not to your tastes. Bear in mind part of the reason for their burn out in HW was that they had introduced 3 jobs but also the NIN was added mid-way into ARR, so they were effectively working on 4 jobs in that timespan. Maybe even 5 if SAM was in the works at that point, given that it was cut from HW.
I am more concerned, at this point, about how they are going to develop existing jobs further and perhaps work on the issues facing some of them. They have a lot of time to add new jobs and probably some are already a fait accompli (namely, the Oracle.) Working on the other 15 already existing jobs and fixing them where they're going wrong is a much bigger task. In that regard, they will need to keep some of the archived jobs for further subsumption into existing ones, as well as designing brand new abilities for them.
Assuming that I am right, i.e. that there's 2 expansions left and each could see a max of 3 jobs for a total of 6, with 3 of those being "archive" options, I'd be curious what original jobs they might come up with at this point, especially once Gunblade is in.
There's also the Psychic job/dressphere from the FFX-2 game (one could argue they are a type of a magitek variant of Oracle/Mystic). Personally, I'm hoping at some point that PSY will be implemented as a job available either inside or outside Garlemald... it could be an interesting original job for FF14.
Could work too and yes, it'd be interesting.
I also neglected to mention mystic knight, but in practice I think they would need to implement it piecemeal as part of another job, like BLU, to create something workable in FFXIV. Necromancer might be another. It was scrapped in XI. Is there appetite for another summon job (or for beast tamer, a pet one)? Not so sure, but they're there as options.
After 4.3 MSQ my theories on the new jobs would be:
1.) Dancer: Healer due to the primal fan, the fan has a lot of detail for a simple throwaway animation.
2.) Geomancer: Tank due to all the hints being added for it. And they tanked for AST quest, so maybe magic barriers to tank? This is the biggest mystery but in theory they could work as magical tanks, and none of the tanks deal with the elements so it’ll have it special niche/feel compared to the knightly tanks.
3.) Shadowhunter: DPS unique gunblade job, that has gimmicks like the demon hunter of world of Warcraft. Should salsify those that still want DRK as a DPS. And pull players from WOW that enjoy demon hunters.
