My desynthessies are GSM, BSM, and LTH. I have used, and am still using, wolf marks to advance them. ARM can as well. -

The desyn chapter I added here is mostly to help people realize they can meld or consume food/medicine to increase desyn rate. And also I'm taking the opportunity to update everyone regarding the desyn rate increase (comparing to ARR) from melds and food/medicine in the recent patch.
I'm putting most of my time these days reaching all-70 DoW/DoM status (I'm almost there!), doing dungeons, understanding and having fun with each job :D Also attempting to clear up all the side quests in every map area! So yeah, no time for PvP, unfortunately! XD -

You have one of the most amazing and detailed crafting guides I've ever seen, and I'd hate for it to ever become lost! Do you think you could include an alternate access like a google drive document? I know Google has a cache of all four parts of your guide so I could take those and put it on a google drive document myself, but I wouldn't know how up to date those copies are, and I wasn't sure if you'd be okay with that.
If anything though - thank you for your guides! I've finally managed to get my crafters to 50 across the board and am now trying to get the grasp of HW crafting. -

I managed to put it together in one document, attempted to match the formatting (c&p didn't preserve any strike-throughs and underlines; and the cache didn't have some of the images), and pulled in extra content (ie, Storm Blood 2 Star Rotations Guide) into it. It's pretty hefty - it's 285 pages, but at least put together in one place! And I'll be happy to transfer ownership of the document to you if you were to email me at mnemyx(at)gmail.

But if it can be used earlier, then it may be 68. I remember somebody talking about leves back in Heavensward, that some lvl 58 leves items are in Master Books (which they complained that it didn't make sense). If that was true, then perhaps level 58 can use the Heavensward Master Books. And if Stormblood is anything similar, then it'll naturally be lvl 68.Quote:

So I have been playing with the simulator to see if there are other tools that we aren't considering as part of the rotation but what sucks is the simulator calculates things incorrectly like WWYW and doesn't proc Good/Excellent. It may be a lost cause but I just feel weird that there are specialist tools just sitting there going unused that may be incredibly beneficial like Satisfaction, Trained Hand and Nymeia's Wheel. I get the RNG aspect of WWYW and and just wanted to see if there is any tips. Another thought I had was to do MaMa and start off with the first CZ rotation and then wait to do precise touch/patient touch when a good/excellent procs and weave in Brow's when applicable. So I understand that RNG is harder to predict but wanted to hear your thoughts on it.
The reason for the weaves is with all the Flawless Synth possibilities on high level crafts that there is more opportunity to weave on the good/excellent to push quality or regain CP.
This may be a wasted effort with the nice 2 macro synths that are already created but as someone who is just getting into 70 crafting I don't want to meld too much in to the i290 gear when I want to replace it with Ala Mhigan. This is how I want to meld the 290 gear and honest opinions on if it is possible to do Ala Mhigan with the following gear/stats.

As for your melds, I'm not so sure about your Tier VI melds on your i290 gear. Since Tier VI are so much more expensive than Tier V and IV (on my server, Zalera), it seems cheaper to avoid the VIs, and go for some slight overmelds of Vs and IVs... especially when Vs can be acquired from Red Scrips exchange, and so I have stocked up quite a lot of them. In addition, VIs have a really low chance of materia retrieval, so you can't really transfer what you melded onto the i320 gear. I would do VIs on the chest, but that's about it. For instance, for the tools, I would just do 2 melds of lower tier CP materia. But anyway, if you have a good supply of VIs, I guess it's all fine. -

Basically the simulator just takes away a whistle stack each action. Also my stats aren't even there yet as I am just hitting level 70 and my goal is just to not try and spend too much on materia yet. I was able to craft my own Ironworks set in 3.0 without having max melds but it took a lot of effort and the BSM tools were my first to obtain since it seems like BSM creates more tools than any other class.Quote:

That's almost 100 times difference in price. That's why I suggest overmelding IV. It's very affordable. Even buying with Red Scrips is cheap for IVs. For CP, you can easily meld 2x IVs (or even lower tiers) instead of using a VI. And you could easily save yourself 450K+.
VI's have only a retrieval rate of 40%. V's are 80% and IV's are 100%. So you can probably retrieve back most of the V's that you put in slots. But like I said, I do like the idea of using a VI on the chest though. The chest has a lot of stats can be melded into despite the fact that it's not necessary. -

I've been reaching 70 in my DOHs by spamming the level 62 /64 leves. As such, I have crafting nothing over level 65.
I am wearing mostly level 65/66 HQ left side and tools with the augmented red script accessories melded with IVs and close to max CP. So I am hitting 70 with the following stats :
Craft 1064, Control 930, CP 403 (these are on a specialist class)
In your guide, you say this :
The following macros require very minimal stats from level 70 crafters. When I developed these macros, I had 1265 craftsmanship and 1126 control.
Obviously I am quite a ways from this so I am hoping that the level 70 gear will make up that stat difference, but my question is do you think I will be able to craft the level 70 290 i level gear with my current stats or am I going to need to wade into the messiness that is +65 crafting recipes as an intermediary step? Or can I just buy the level 70 NQ set somewhere? -

You can craft the gear yourself but you will most likely need to HQ as many mats as possible to reduce the risk of failure. I used a MaMa rotation and in all honesty I don't do macros as my preferred method. So you will be able to craft the gear yes but it will be more challenging.Quote:

Yeah, it's not a 100% secure rotation since I used 2x Rapid Syn II, 1x Patient Touch and 1x Hasty Touch. But you know what, it's likely going to work just fine. I started from zero quality here. And I already have nearly 2K quality over the top. If you have a tad bit more CP (like, if you use the Cunning Craftsman's Tea HQ to add 13 more CP), you can even use Ingenuity near the end of the rotation to buff your Byregot and those Careful Synthesis II's. Imagine if you use a few pieces of HQ mat, it's going straight to 100% HQ for sure.
Don't forget there's also Trick of the Trade along the way, which you can take. Or, you can use those Goods to boost your touches as well...
Let's just say, for sure that, YES, you have plenty of stats to HQ the i290 gear! But can you do it? Well, it's time to practice! :) -

Melding : Generally speaking, outside of some few scenarios, you generally want to meld to get close to max CP, then enough Craftsmanship that you meet the minimums, and finally, any extra space you have, Control. I’d wait, though, for serious melding. There’s a new patch coming out that may increase the requirements for crafting stuff over current 2 star requirements.
Personally, I tend to leave the MH/OH tools mostly blank (just some CP) to meld more Craft/Control if I find myself unable to make new stuff.
Cross Class Skills : These really depend, big time, upon what you are doing and, more specifically, what rotation you are using. Quite simply, if your rotation does not call for Waste Not, there is no reason to have it slotted in.However, even if it is not currently slotted in, you can still have it on your bar for use when you DO slot it in. Cross class moves I’m using a lot making 2 star stuff : Maker’s Mark, Flawless Synthesis, *Innovation, *Piece by Piece, *Tricks of the Trade, *Careful Synthesis 2, Ingenuity 2, *Byregot’s Blessing, *Comfort Zone, *Steady Hand 2. As for how much I want to craft in the future.... I really don't know yet, since I'm still in the middle of leveling up my crafters to 70 (only one at 70 so far is LTW) and I still need to level up BTN and MIN so I can gather specific mats on my own as well @.@
As for the stat-thresholds I should be shooting for, another question:
Is the recommended value of 1320 craftsmanship, 1220 control and 490 only necessary for macro crafting or should I also aim for those values if I prefer manual crafting?
Also in the guide, there are other values mentioned for harder recipies. I'm still ways away from those anyway, but are those the values needed to successfully manual craft the mentioned recipies? >_<
