PvP botters are ruining PvP Frontline ...

It's getting worse. Likely due to a lack of official condemnation and acknowledgement of the issue.

Here's the latest Frontlines match I had:

Those players remained there for the entire match. Clearly they were using some sort of illegal program because they moved every now and then but otherwise didn't do very much at all. By the end of the match none of them had contributed anything to damage or healing numbers. I've come to enjoy PvP in this game and it's a real shame to see it being infested with botters - it punishes and discourages legitimate players from bothering which will impact queue times if it does not get dealt with in a timely fashion.

Yeah, frontlines is really bad atm. I still see the same players running bots that got top matches on lodestone last week (and tbh the week before that). It's getting kind of embarrassing.

Open lodestone at Fronlines ranking pages, you can even see whole FCs whose members have 6/7 class lvl 70 with + 400 match played. On other similar thread on the forum, someone claimed openly he was botting, whether it's bullshit or no, that's just show how much people fear the banhammer.

Just trying to understand the nerf logic on xp...
losses = less xp, a horde of botters alrdy puts you at a disadvantage meaning you're more likely to lose the match
so if you get botters you in turn get punished for them being asshats?
Hows this punish them more than the active pvp playerbase?

It doesn't Punish botters. They don't care if the exp is less, they just need to be getting some form of exp since that is exp they gain while not actually playing the game.
SE can nerf and nerf the exp but botters will still bot as long as there is exp.

The more I read about it, the more I think they should completely remove xp, at least for loosing team. During garo event, when someone complained he had to win to get the mount, be sure that most of the time someone else told him that it was doable and to keep trying. When it comes to XP, you're just an elitist if you say that.

But I'll keep saying we need something that count actual participation in a battle, but knowing SE, they'll probably put it so low that even bots will be able to get exp. As long as SE treat PvP as a stepping stone for PvE, nothing will change: bots will ruin PvP and people will just leave once their character is leveled.

If people walk away with nothing for losing then many of them just won't bother queuing up. Which makes the queue times for those of us who enjoy Frontlines lose out by having to wait around for longer in between matches. What we need is better tools to report problematic players and a swifter response time and official acknowledgement of the game's legitimate issues. This plague of botters may very well be limited to the North American and European servers which means that if it isn't a problem over on the Japanese servers then it is likely not being communicated to the developers.

Much like how there has still not been a proper response to European players being screwed over by the promotion surrounding the maid/butler attire items. I'd like to think differently but this is a major issue and there's no official acknowledgement within this thread so it could be that nobody with the ability to give feedback to the Japanese development team is going to ever see this thread. The language barrier is, unfortunately, a major obstacle.

Then boom, 100k PvP botters bans.
But this will never happen in FFXIV, they can't detect even gathering bots who are still there gathering 24/7 after 3 years of reporting.

I stopped playing it as much after the XP nerf. It's not because I would possibly get less XP (as I only ever went on my level 70 anyway), but because I saw the possibility that people would leave and a lot that were left would be people who afk/auto-follow/bot etc... Now when I go on for the daily bonus I always end up seeing people afk/botting etc.

Early mornings are the worst. I've seen a load just sitting there all together. This was not as big a problem pre-xp nerf, and I think that's in large part as you still had people playing it who tried, but were there also for the exp. I'm certainly not going to put in the time past the daily bonus while the problem is this bad.

*Ahem* that have already been repeated over and over that the moment they added a system that reward people for just being present, it was only a matter of time before it skyrockets. Scipters were already selling their shits before. Just because SE is now pro of making look PvP like it's not worth playing it and ff being ridiculously bot friendly, it's enough for people to legitimately think they can bot in frontlines.

Cheaters aren't being punished in PvP, everyone that have been PvPing a lot before know that. Rare cases it happened, it was a few day ban

I like those that log off the first 5 minutes in frontlines because you cant kick anyone the firsg 5 minutes and suddenly go back when match almost done. Idk if it is server problems or ppl doing on purpose

I can almost guarantee at least half of them are doing it on purpose if not automated. Far too many just drop off at the same exact moment. That said far too many legit 90k's still happen to bother looking for the fakes ones to report.

I've seen some of the players shown sitting around in the group here in multiple matches. Nice to confirm they're botting so I can report them in the future.

I've submitted several reports with zero replies from GMs. Still see the same players botting in Shatter everyday.

Best part of it all is that all of these players get PvP achievements. Talk about a super deal - get good exp, good currencies, nice mounts, light farm, maybe a title if the bot performs well and best of all, no punishment.

I really don't understand what it takes to get them to pay attention to bots if even ones that are actively disruptive are seemingly being ignored.

I've honestly considered just using the 'Report RMT activity" command on all bots in general, because it seems like the only thing that actually works.

Yeah, I thought so, but it can only back fire to you that way. I think they don't have to bother much with the quick report for RMT because they get the part of the chat that proves an actual RMT activities. IMO, that's the same reason it works for people geting reported for insults/showing parse, but as long as there's no actual tracks in chat logs, they don't even bother.

Just did a Shatter and had 3 party members doing this. I wasn't sure that this was a thing until I checked this thread to confirm the symptoms, but from here on I will be watching and reporting for strange activity. This is a game ruiner, especially for those who keep track of wins and losses.

Just finished a match where the guy was walking really jerky, like 1 step 1 step 1 step, then he ended up getting killed and slid around the map as a corpse for the remainder of the match. I'm so tired of all the afking and kill feeding 0 dmg done, 5 or so deaths, just for free xp. When you need 200+ wins for mounts and such and have people blatantly cheating with no consequences it's really disheartening. So they are gonna AFK to max level, then continue to afk to cap tomes, then come into raids/extremes etc. with 0 clue how to play their class or handle pressure because they afk'd the whole time.

That actually perfectly describes some really terrible lag. That stuff happens when someone is lagging hardcore

Actually, bots are programmed to move "step by step" sometime when they fail on getting a target for some reason. I've already spotted 2 bots or more following the same patterns while moving that way.

But getting slid around the map as a corpse? That's a lag thing, it's hilarious when it happens to a raid member. "Guys, I'm lagging." "Yeah, we can see your corpse flying around."
Then again I don't know the power of bots or if they simulate lag when dead.

Ah right, I have missed that part nvm. I've managed once to run around A3 arena as a corpse for my teamates a day I had huge lags X)
