And to be honest folks, physical distance =/= better or worse ping in the ways most think nowadays.
Part of the reason the current location had issues was because literally all traffic was being routed through a single final hop that was unable to meet he demand. This resulted in alot of lag and dc issues over the past couple of years.
This new location may be farther for some but if the routing is through more robust routers/"hops" and has more then 1 final routing jump in the host city, its literally like making a 2 lane highway into a 8 lane. so again, wait until the servers are live and fully resolved before jumping on SE.
