I'm positively thrilled they've fixed 2 of the biggest problems with triple triad. Now if they could just fix the card drop rate from old dungeons (I have run Snowcloak 10 times still no Fenrir card) I will be a happy potater.
I got lucky and got my Nidhogg card on my clear of his normal mode trial, but the overall drop rates seem to be unnecessarily low. I've seen the unicolt drop more often in the Vault than the Charibert card, which I also don't have, even though I do that dungeon at least 4 times a week.
They could put some of the old boss cards on the battlehall npcs too, that'd give more reason to go there on top of the tournaments.
Actually, I think this is a very good thing. They are adding a lot of QoL improvements prior to StormBlood. I am sure that a lot of the writing and design focus for content is on StormBlood right now, but the team that works on the core game and UI can be steaming ahead with QoL, performance and stability enhancements ahead of the SB launch. SB will be that much better with all those small improvements.
Plus the group pose and camera stuff should keep some people busy for months.
Speaking of performance I wonder when the PS4 Pro's extra GPU resource will be enabled in this game? Not that it affects me at the moment, since I an not a PS4Pro owner - yet.
...and suddenly all ARR zones are full of sightseers who just can't get enough of those wonderful Eorzean vistas. I'll be very surprised if some enterprising players don't set themselves up as tour guides. Tour guides who will take a party to each vista and tell the party about the view and how best to achieve it...for a price of course...lol
Indeed, It's like the Hildebrand quests, every piece of content does not have to please every player, it's a buffet of content that appeals to different players differently. I like the gpose feature, the changes are very nice.
Definitely, that rule was such a PITA. It was kind of like allowing the NPC to cheat even more so than normal...
So when is this going live?
So good, so good... Praise Halone for QoL.
Love it. So many good changes.
Fixing Chocobo companions, finally, alone made this patch great.
Dye in the fitting roo, so good.
Little further is needed for the fitting room in my opinion. Maybe SE could look into gear restriction previews. Maybe give a generic stand in. I've been having some trouble when trying to make glamours for my opposite gendered retainers.
Flying text for other players has been categorized as pop-up text, which can be disabled via the Character Configuration interface.

Finally! This means that my screen won't be cluttered with other people's dmg
Those hotbar QoLs. Love it and can't wait to rearrange my UI.
Odds are with 4.0 this Summer all 3.0 cards will be made available for win off of NPC's, as all 2.0 cards were done when 3.0 dropped. So there will be a path to get those pesky cards that RNG failed to deliver.
But all the TT changes seem to be for the good. The death of Random for NCP's will probably be the biggest change and cause for many to rejoice. Though it never bothered me all that much.
Love these changes. Praise the Sun!!!!
Some of the boss cards from 2.0 are still dungeon drop only. From this list Fenrir, Kraken, Ferdiad, Manxone, and Vicegereant are still solely available from their respective 2.0 dungeons and I've never had any of those drop despite playing the game regularly for a year.
While those are boss cards are from 2.xx content, they were not added into the game until 3.2, which would explain why they aren't on NPC's quite yet. Fenrir seems to be ludicrously rare though...I've done Snowcloak at least a hundred times now since the card was added and never seen it :/
I have seen screenshots of people setting their hotbars up like that already, just guess those people were more creative with what they had to work with so don't see the new hotbar qol change that noteworthy.
I set up my hotbars like that as well, but if anything, I DO want this feature, because it frees up my hotbars even more, since I no longer need to do things like, use an entire vertical hotbar, for just 1 ability to line up with my prior set. (and even then it doesnt line up well)
Now I can play with it, and get the most abilities, with the least hotbars used, AND set pet hotbar to something other than 21x1, which takes up way more space on my screen than id like (and i already have everything set to the smallest size possible, since im on a 768p screen, and its still too darn big.)
If no PvP chat means I don't have to deal with your "funny" commentary, then so it shall be.
To be fair, it would be more efficient to allow people to communicate with each other more easily in PvP but simply crack down on trash talking and poor sportsmanship.
The cynical part of me believes that the developers don't want that to happen, though, because it would cost money to hire people to investigate such things and if the players in question ended up getting banned then they'd be likely remove their subscriptions.
Making an assumption based on a post. I am probably one of the nicer people you will see in pvp. I am not the type of guy that calls out others. I am also not the guy who yells or screams at other people for being useless. I never rocketed in science but I know for a fact that communication is an important part in pvp. Now they removed the possibility of people explaining others what to do if they are new. They removed direct communication. I am sorry but if you are failing to see the idiocy in removing this, then I am the one who is happy to not be teamed up with you but against you. /shrug
Highly doubt it. They said that new rule in place of random will be there. So instead they can just make like no 5* allowed. They can even limit to only lets say beast tribe cards or scion cards. It is guaranteed that she will still sneeze through your futile farm attempts.
What i realy want them is to expand the table to more then just 3x3, 5x5 would be hell of a fun. And you could only choose 5 cards for deck like now, other 8 cards would be randomly selected from your deck. That would make it more then just empty flowchart clicking as it is now.
Then it wouldn't be Triple Triad anymore. Any changes you think would be good for the game are actually detrimental to it. Triple Triad is a fun minigame precisely because the matches are short. Expanding the field and/or having larger decks would unbalance things in such a way that it becomes a huge chore and waste of time in the end.
Competitive content sadly brings out the worst in a lot of people. There's various ways to mitigate that but...oh well.
Hopefully for this PvP based crossover event we don't actually have to win. That way having chat disabled won't have a major impact if you still walk away with the rewards even if you lose.
Able to summon a chocobo as a full party...god damn nice!
Are they doing the nerfs to umbrites with the patch? I read through the notes but I didn't see anything, but I could have skimmed past it.
These are indeed in 2.0 dungeons, but all of them were added in the 3.x cycles and some of them have truly crummy drop rates. Fenrir in specific took a lot of runs to show his face for me. I would guess that all of these will get shifted to NCP's with 4.0 also.
We'll see if it all happens in June. I was surprised when they did it for the 2.0 cards, so perhaps that was a one off. But with the older content getting quieter with the expansion, it seemed a reasonable design call to make the cards available via the second NPC path.
People have been complaining about expert roulette containing only 2 dungeons since 3.0. This issue has been brought up multiple times and nothing has been done about it until now. 1 year later.
That's good to hear at least. It's still mindblowing because Feast is the competitive pvp but whatever. Frontline is more fun anyway.
Am I the only one hopeful for a Flames of Rebirth music roll?
On the topic of triple triad. I believe the random rule will be replaced by the chaos rule on npc. Playing an npc today that had chaos in effect. The chaos rule didn't seem to apply to the npc. He had the leviathan card and in every single match, that card was always played at the ideal time.
Ah..finally Prey Online gonna get some buffed !
I've got 3 Ultima Plating since the first week of 3.0 and sit at that quantity until today...
Still,Its never be too late to get new glamour piece ! Looking forward to it.
