1.0 is an old relic of the past. Titles. Items. Mounts. Included.

I'd love to see my npc follower from 1.0 again. It won't happen.

You didn't play 1.0 unfortunately for you, it's tough. It's like it or lump it.

Why should they give them to people, when it was a reward for subscribing and keeping the game afloat to be what it is today?

I've seen so many of these threads. You can't have our rewards for our hard work and time.

From what we know so far, it will still be exclusive. They only mentioned the minion, but knowing how SE it might end up on the store at some point.

Even if you can go back in time, it is not possible to collect all the titles in 1.x before the servers went down.
Well, unless you do nothing except play the game.

i.e. 1.x players don't have all the titles either.

Not just for the exclusive items, but I'd love the chance to play through the 1.0 storyline in some form. While it admittedly fits into my backstory (Lukh'a was too young himself, but his mother was an Adder and died at Carteneau), but I definitely feel like I'm missing vital information having not gotten to meet the people and experience the events which led up to the calamity.

Especially the people. There's a level of connection missing because I never actually met Louisoix, for instance, only heard about him second hand, and I can only assume Minfillia would have been more likable had I known her before she became Antecedent.

I'd even be willing to eschew quest rewards if SE felt it was necessary to keep those items exclusive, as nice as it would be to earn them (especially since they already put some, like that one earring, up on the mogstation?) But there's got to be a way, via the echo or even, say, a quest where one of the scions who were there tell you a story as a framing device for a playable flashback, to let us non-legacy players get the story context we're missing out on.

Yeah, of course; this would be a great place to apply all those ideas people post about how to abridge the late-ARR MSQ quests.

As far as fitting it into the storyline, well, make it a sidequest series and use the echo or NPC flashbacks as a framing device. Or, heck, maybe our good friend the Wandering Minstrel could help us out.

1.0 was a disaster. It almost destroyed the Final Fantasy name, that's how bad it was. Legacy exclusives need to remain exclusive for those that were loyal enough to SE and the FF name to pay for and play 1.0.

Like, I am all for people having other 'time-exclusives' such as past event items and whatnot, but I really think 1.0 stuff should be left for the legacy players.

So this happens when people get teached 'collecting' by pokemon.

Does any museum have 'all' the art? Does (the average) oldtimer, stamp, vinyl, video games collector gonna 'have them all' at some point?
I wouldn't stop a PS3/4 tropy collection, just because there are some time-gated (not doable anymore) trophies out there that I can't get anymore.

Do they cry all the time because they can't get something expensive or because it would be to much effort? There are some things only existing 10 times and still millions of people collecting such kind of things..

I'm fine with bringing back anything from 1.0 that wasn't promised to stay exclusive. In fact I'm still quite salty about some achievements becoming legacy only unannounced and was gonna get them in 2.0.

No, I didn't play during 1.X (I didn't even know Final Fantasy had an MMO back when 1.X was a thing, had never heard of XI, don't think I'd ever preally hard of Final Fantasy period until I came to FFXIV), so I didn't get the exclusive stuff from 1.0... boohoo cry me a river. Then build a bridge and get over it. The 1.X rewards should stay exclusive even if it means I'll never get them, because from what I hear, if those people hadn't supported 1.X, then ARR and HW would never have been a thing and then NONE of us would have been able to enjoy the game. They deserve some manner of thanks, and that is the legacy rewards. I do believe in exclusives and with the PvP stuff I said it shouldn't be top 10 per datacentre but only one person in the entire world getting it, for maximum exclusivity. Bring the top player from each datacentre to a massive tournament to see who is the best of the best (they copy your character to a tournament realm and then you go for a massive LCS style clash)

Removing the minion from Top 10 in Season 3 was silly. Almost as silly thinking that a minion collector who is or as been rather casual towards PvP can just pick up into Feast Season 3 and have any chance at placing Top 10.

I PvP. Often. And come no where close to Top 10 (hard to carry on WAR, but I'm stubborn), but I'm perfectly fine with it. They earned those prizes. And if you think they didn't, just queue up and see how much effort it takes.

Sometimes I regret not sticking with 1.0, but I understand truly. I could of bought the game but I was still playing XI so that kind of put the kibosh on moving to XIV for a time.

Part of me wishes they'd make a mini expansion (Like Abyssea in XI) where you can play just the highlights of 1.0 scenario, it would obviously involve time travel but it would give the non legacy people a chance to play through classic XIV in some form or another.

I'm glad there are people im this thread who didn't play 1.x, yet understand what legacy is about :)

When square asked us to pay a sub to help development there was a lot of "omg now the games gonna die" posts on here but it didn't...and here we are. Personally I didn't even know about legacy until the day I got it and my bf pointed it out "look, you got legacy! Cool"

I was like huh what's that...oh, word..nice lol but I would have paid regardless. I really enjoyed ffxiv from the day it launched in 1.0 till now and id happy do it again.

Instead of complaining about missing titles, why not demanding that the devs should bring back the old contents (including spear fishing and aether nodes and lv80+ enemies guarding the aether nodes), so players can earn the titles again?

Believe it or not, not even any 1.x player have all the titles.

Also some titles from V1 were not achievable unless you're spending years to get them.
Among others, Chocobo escort, Hamlet defense, main story and faction leves are not anymore available in game. Most title that can be tranfer to ARR have been transfered.

Just like how Minion collectors can only have 1 minion out at a time. Same with mounts.
It's the feeling about knowing that you got them all. That you finished the collection and can be proud of what you got.

I never really collected anything in games. I started collecting the music rolls in FFXIV because I really enjoy the FFXIV soundtracks. But I am no fanatic about it, I just collect what I can for fun.

I enjoy the satire of this thread. It really puts into context the entitlement of this community and the spinelessness of the dev team for ruining the pvp prizes (an earring? seriously?).

For context, I don't pvp, but if I saw someone with the pvp minion out, I would have congratulated them, no such luck now, good job community...

As a Legacy player, should I be entitled to ALL the titles that the old 1.0 version had to offer? NO. I have the ones I have, cause I couldnt get around to get them all when they were available.
Just like everyone else, if you didnt play during that time, and miss out on things, that is on your end sadly. Regardless of the reason, no money for sub, no time to play due to RL etc.
I stuck around in 1.0 even if the game wasnt perfect, as I wanted to support the devs as I saw massive potential in the future of the game, and I even loved playing it back then. I even miss some elements of 1.0 in ARR/HW actually. Chocobo Escorts, Hamlet Defenses, and Class abilities and more

Even in WOW, there are achievements and such that become Feat of Strenght once that achivement is no longer achieveable.

I remember when I started WOW in 2005, and I ran around in my Green and some Blue gear, and I came across people who was fully decked out in Purple raid gear and titles that I would never be able to get unless I put the time and effort into it and getting better at my class to be able to raid and kill bosses
Then later on, the game became more casualfriendly to the point that Purple just became, normal, nothing that made you go OH WOW I WANT THAT, what do I need to do to get it :/

A belt? You want our legacy items to be a stat useless non-cosmetic item? That has no point O.o

I think they should not be displayed in the title lists at all unless you have them, if I recall they are all greyed out down in the bottom which is kinda silly.

Even if they did give the 1.0 players a belt as you say, then we would have more posts such as this one asking for that belt too. It sucks that we weren't there but these items were exclusive for those that were and there and we should respect that. I am sure we have in game items that new players in the future will never have and they will also be gutted about it too, but thats just the way it goes i suppose.

Maybe if it was a belt that would "lvl" up with the player and constantly be better than any other belt ingame (and maybe have a special visual effect tied to it). But then people would just cry OP.

Unlike some minions and mounts that have to "BUY" to get them, titles are not that disappointing if they have some exclusives. You have to understand, the thread regarding the minion collection is a legit concern as there are a lot of stuff that they sell and using minions as bait for collectors to get it.
