We know all that the only reason for the 7 week grind for the lore weapon is they fucked up the 210 grind step of the relic and make the relic worth again by a shorter grind then the lore weapon...

Tech the midan weapon is 245 so it's the best by wdmg standards in the game but man the secondaries suck, for black mage anyway.

But you're right, the midan weapon is hardly the carrot on the stick I want when it comes to getting the motivation to run m4s.

take the Weekly lockout off of M4 (leave it at 7 items) and make the upgrade item cost 2 Pennies and 2 Farthings.

No idea just hope it's not too painful. I have two 240 relics (black and white mage) and two 230's (bard and astro) so I definately have a lot of time and effort invested in them.

Oh look I was was wating for the complaints to start again when people are given a chance to catch up and upgrade their gear no matter their playstyle... It's far too predictable.

Coz you know only very special people should be able to upgrade their gear at all.

Everyone else should only have it happen around twice a year since they "don't need it".

Every single relic step is going to get nerfed eventually, you had better get used to it. If you are annoyed that you spent more time doing it that others with the patience to wait for the nerf then you only have yourself to blame. No-one made you do it and it's common knowledge that the steps get nerfed further down the line.

Hmm, The Rising seasonal event should start soon as well, right? Could be part of what the patch is for. Hoping the Wind-up Krile is added.

They're not gonna wait until 3.45 to remove the lockout from the M4 token, which is when the next relic step will be added.

If the lockout isn't removed in 3.38, then it'll definitely be removed in 3.4, so either in 1 week or about 5 weeks.

In 3.0, the eso weapon didn't even have a 7 week lock out...it just took 1000 esoterics. That's it.

What is so wrong with it only taking 1000 lore? Especially when it will be outdated in a month?

There is no argument...the reason they had a cap(I believe) was so the only 230 at the time would be the relic since it only takes 1-3 weeks for that step to make people want it & work towards the anima or something, like a "you worked WAY too hard on the 210 step so for the first 7 weeks of 3.2 you can have a 230 before everyone else" consolation. It serves no purpose now.

POTD weapon is another alternative people can get, granted not all weapons from there are good.
Also we sort of knew it was just a matter of time they would implement reward for upgrade.

The i230 relic step was added in 3.25, 5 weeks after the release of 3.2. Raiders who were able to clear A6S were already able to obtain the i230 tomestone weapon before then, while others were 2 weeks away from getting enough A8 tokens for it.
It's more likely that they did this so raiders could get some of their tomestone weapons before the rest, while the Sephirot weapons remained as meaningful rewards for at least 5-6 weeks.

Not really sure how you think an upgraded lore weapon is better than a weapon with customizable stats.
For example, comparing the i240 NIN lore daggers with the i240 relic ones:

Augmented Torrent Kris: 120 Crit, 104 Det (Includes 2x Det V melds)
Spurs of the Thorn Prince: 120 Crit, 115 Det

While the upgraded lore weapons will obviously be easier to obtain in 3.38, they're still not better than the relic ones.

OH GOD YES PLEASE

I'm working on my second Anima rn and I'm NATURALLY at the 210 step (with 48/80) so that'll help me a LOT... Not to mention the lore weapon thing, I've had higher ilevel weapons on my alt jobs than on my main because the lore drg is just that good...

There WAS an announcement of an upcoming Live Letter, it just wasn't done in the same way as usual because it was included as part of the Anniversary broadcast special:

Not the Midan Weapon In A6 you get the same token, as the one you can trade in for 7 weeks A8 normal.

They will be discussing what to expect in patch 3.4 during the 14 hour anniversary broadcast next week. Maybe by then, they will give us a release date :)

To be honest I think they could just keep the midan gear as a weekly but simply add it to a few more if not all the Midan floors. Most people dont even bother with the other floors now so would easily make those a bit more relevant and would change high cap from 7 weeks to just a couple weeks for those dont savage.

Seems everyone forgot that you can also get the Tome for the Lore weapon from A6S (our Tomes have been going to waste for a while now). Its also the reason why you need 7 tokens from a really easy fight.

Don't forget, the tome weapons from SCoB and FCoB could only be gained from the drop in T7 and T11 (respectively) until long after the raids were relevant.

10 minutes x 7 = 1h10. So they're right, just that the time involved has to be spread out over 7 weeks. And relic is still better and this (hopefully) isn't the last relic step anyways.

Ah, ended up finishing last night because there was a Poes bonus for each of the raids while getting my last aether oil.

Now to finish Eso and Umbrite farming for PLD relic so I can pause on that and let SMN take priority. XD

I would be very sad if that were the case because I am currently working on my 2nd anima weapon and just spent ALL the beastman tokens I had on unidentiable items a few hours before these notes were released.
