first off this stuff is for glamour and raiding is for end game content. glamour is meanness.
if your argue i won't be fair
dev can't eat fair dev have earn a living to pay for food for they family.
Raiding is "meanness" to a lot of people since they don't care to do it.
That doesn't mean it's unimportant to the game, though.
...Eh? Making bunny boys has literally nothing to do with whether or not the devs take home a paycheck, though.Quote:

As WinterLuna very aptly put, the game isn't just catering your whims only, they have a whole fanbase to consider.
What does Devs creating glamour have to do with their living? Regardless of what a dev works on they have a secure line of work with SE and are paid well
Your arguments are just ludicrous >.<
Different people have different things that they consider to be their "end game".
Indeed. That is why they should add things that a variety of people enjoy so that many people are happy instead of sticking with one person's narrow definition of what the game is, or should be.
While I'm personally find seeing male characters in bunny outfits or female characters tanking in bikinis is silly, I'm not against them, or the outfits being available. There's content that I neglect, because I'm not interested in it, doesn't mean that they should remove it. I do agree with the sentiment that there needs to be more equality among attire. Not just unisex & gender-neutral. Male, female and unisex, not an inordinate amount that leaves one group with less than others.
Also, glamour is the end game. I glamour all of my DRG gear to look like the Wyrm set.
They do actually make supplementary money for the game through glamour too. Those glamour catalogue books sell.
When or if the change(s) present enough of an immersion break that it contributes to the decline of player population more so than the increased customization freedom works contributes to the stabilization/up-tick in the player population.
That said I don't think gender locks on gear are going to be the sort of change that results in a big swing one way or another on that.
"facepalm"
fair doesn't have a taste mind you
i was use word fair as if it was food. second most stuff people are demand change are ether in mog shop or in the casino such as the bunny ears
i remember the play boy bunny for the simpson show. all them were female.
no men in bikina that just plain weird
Personally, I'm more offended by a male playing a female character to "eye hump" her all day than someone playing a male character dressed in gear that was designed for female characters. That said... I think that glamour restrictions in this game are kind of silly. At this point several jobs have to share gear because "reasons", so why not give us a wide enough pool of glamour options that it's made up for?
I was male char for like 2 and half year before I changed to female then back to male then back to female again, even on female I REFUSE to use bunny ears or those bikinis, simply because I wanted to make a miqote that looks different than most and not wearing stupid bikini when you are tanking, honestly that's my own taste so I wont judge others who do it, however you have said it, spot on... the ratio for female vs male gear is pretty low on the men's department. There should be more male gear since females get a ton of them.
The Simpsons is not the be-all and end-all of cultural records, and Playboy is specifically aimed at one half of the market. Just because Savagelf has never heard of a man donning bunny ears for fun or sex appeal does not in fact mean that it has never happened.
And we can already wear bikinis in the game. Male characters have been able to wear bikinis just as long as female characters, in fact; I have a bikini in my armoury chest right now! Right next to the pink miniskirt, skimpy tights and the hotpants with a gigantic metal ring over the crotch. You're too late to stop the game being the way it is.

That one's been in the game since before I started. Men in bikinis are nothing new around here.
This needs to turn into a men in bikinis thread now. :3
I volunteer! I volunteer!

Why can male characters go topless but my catgirl can't? It is very unfair!
10/10 would play.
Need some sunny booty action.

i happy like armor that ffxiv dev team use for end game my self and now the thread look better after put those post picture on ignore. I didn't not ask you post picture you in your swim suit i ask you not to. I find quite boring seen player run around in most revealing armor they find. there dime a dozen of those players it much more fun to enjoy they work of dev in creative and detail they put in for both end game armor as well job gear. i like the dragoon armor.
To be honest I'm bored with caster/healer gear that always about curtain robes and pointy hats. I appreciate with the eikon gear for caster because it's first gear that not about curtain robes. It needs more variety not just something from female converted to males. I always ended up glamour those.
if you don't realize it that armor match the culture that dark ages in Europe. it amazing the detail they went to make the buildings and armor match that like culture which what isengarde is base off
Head pieces like rabbit ears, I say let it us all wear em. The bunny bustier, I say no to that. Things that are specifically designed for women should stay gender locked and vice versa but items like gloves and head pieces, let us have em and vice versa.
We're already at the point of 'too far' as far as I'm concerned. A troubling amount of gear and hairstyles are designed to fit female characters first and foremost. This means that when it comes to fitting male characters a lot of those same hairstyles and gear pieces end up being very, very adrogynous or feminine.
There are countless options for that sort of style already. Yet it isn't enough - because the vocal, selfish portion of the community gunning for such things kicks, screams and threatens until they get what it is that they want.
...which is more of that sort of thing.
I mean, really. If we're going to have 'sexy' gear for men why does it need to be exactly the same as for female characters? Why can't the equivalent for the 'Bunny Suit' be something that shows off a male character's muscles in a way that is conventionally attractive?
I'd much prefer that than simply getting the female version.
The funny part is I don't run around in that. I had to go dig it out of my armoire, actually. Every one of my classes has a distinct look to it. Some of them are "standard" and fit the mold (tank gear, for example, is High Allagan) while others are a little more unique (like my healer gear). The thing is, if I did want to glamour myself into a bikini, who are you to tell me not to? Do you think I like seeing a billion catgirls running around in bikinis? Not particularly, but it's their choice and I just sort of shrug and ignore it. The fact of the matter is that you rolled out this thread talking like you speak for the majority of players when you really don't speak for anyone but yourself when it comes to what you do and don't want unlocked to both genders. Lucky for us, SE is in charge of those decisions and you're just another whiner that thinks her opinion is a lot more popular than it really is.
Er, wrong fandom there, chief. Pretty sure it's not called Isengarde in any language. >_>
I don't see any reason men couldn't get the bunny bustier, albeit altered to be more fitting to the male figure. If you want to make this argument, then girls should not have gotten the Thavnairian vest since the bra had to be added for them.
Exactly. I prefer the "separate but equal" treatment to simply making every pretty dress wearable by males. :x
Honestly I want more androgynous clothing....
why?
Because that's the aesthetic I like. I don't like hulked out muscled men yet I see tons of tanks doing stuff like that, and since it's more "traditionally masculine" it's probably going to be more popular (hulked out muscled women on the other hand....good)
"Too far" is really just an opinion. I like feminine men and masculine women, that's my opinion. Yours is different and that's okay.
I want them to AT LEAST stop having female gear be the "unisex" gear. That needs to stop definitely. I mean, I'd love to have everything be gender neutral...but at least give an equivalent, cmon.
Yes, well, one can always choose to play a female character if they have such an allergy to the male form.
It's fine to have different opinions - but it's become very common for a vocal minority of people to demand that companies bend over backwards to accommodate their tastes when...they're not the majority at all. Most people want to play women who look and act like women and men who look and act like men. It doesn't have to be super masculine or feminine but with how these 'crossdressing or riot' threads go we just see people demanding that everything becomes feminine or androgynous.
This is a video game.
If we wanna get technical, every thing is absolutely meaningless. The glamours, the raiding, the role playing. The only thing that has any value is the friendships and memories you make doing whatever it is you enjoy.
There is no right or wrong way method to playing this game. And that's the beauty of a theme park game.
Inb4 the male counterpart of the bunny suit, ends up showing no skin at all, and is more of a tux. Therefore making it actually an entirely different piece of gear for genders.
