For scars, body scars come to mind (on arms or chest for example).

You're not alone in liking racial flavour and wanting some to stay racially locked, but I can also see the want to unlock the hairstyles. I suppose my real gripe with racial flavour in this game is that their racial lore isn't really extensive, so the flavour isn't super strong. With that, it may be harder for some to be passionate about racial locked looks, while others don't like it to begin with.

More customization on the whole would be great, but I'm alright with sprinkling in some hairstyles for the time being. If anything for hairstyles, I would like for long hairstyles for men (no headbands, and some options with bangs), clipping be damned. For females I would like to see that messy bob for females, the one from the contest.

Suggesting again for long hairstyles..really long!

Yeah...there is a hair that I think midlanders/highlanders have that I like..but I don't want to change races for it.

Imagine the amount of hairs that would be made available if they did away with stupid gender and race locks.. is there really still "male" and " female" hairstyles these days?
EDIT : SWEET I just saw the mod post, yes please make all hairs available for everyone! so many cute hairs you never even see from certain races becuase nobody can use them!

I don't really see the point behind race- and gender specific hairstyles. I mean, we should be able to look however we want. I read somewhere they wanted Au Ra to feel exotic by giving them loads of hairstyles with bangs, but... Really... They are a bit too much. There are some highlander and miqo'te hairstyles I'd like to wear as well :3

I do - if they make use of the race specific body parts. Like, a long ponytail that is tied to the tail would be hard to reproduce by non-tailed races.

The same applies to gender, of course, with the respective gender specific body parts. I, uh...leave that up to your imagination how such a style could look like >_>

For the most part, I don't either.

I did hear at one point (and I'm not even sure whether this came from SE or from players' conjecture) that they want all Miqo'te hairstyles to have hair fully covering the sides of the head where a human's ears would go, because the sides of the head look odd with nothing there. That might rule out a few hairstyles on Miqo'te, or require modifications to a few others. (Or they could do away with that rule and let players make "odd" looking choices if it's the look they want.)

But the vast majority of hairstyles in the game would work perfectly well for all races and both genders, and I wish more of them were allowed on all races and both genders.

They should release all male and female hairstyles to all the players, remove the gender and race restriction and let the players decide how their character should look like. People who object to this, because they think it does not fit, because of their religion/gender norm/lore, need to worry about themself and not how someone else is playing with their character.

I really like the female highlander ponytail with the frizzy curl in it.. it should be available for all. I've played as a midland Hyur, Au ra and now Miqo. I prefer the messy long ponytails, but all the petite races I like to play aren't given many good ponytail choices.

While we're at it, how about some more facial hair options? I see a lot of anime/video game based hairstyles which is all good and all. But how about facial hair? They are more race locked than hairstyles and make even less sense as to why.

Well, I don't really see many races getting that much more hair facially. Maybe for the older Miqo'te face and Elezen for example. However I'd like body hair on Miqo'te males.

I'm for keeping the few race AND gender specific hairstyles locked. They really do give the classes their own flare. For example the bad ass ponytails that Highlanders get.

The issue is though, why can't other classes have that. It doesn't look very highlander specific due to their lore and such. It looks like a hairstyle everyone can have.

lore is a ridiculous argument in an mmo where turtles fly.

All hairstyles for all races and genders! If we're going to save the world, we should at least be able to "do/wear" our hair however we please (within the limitations of what's available to us).

All the races could use a ton more facial hair options, even if we look into actual people there are many styles of beards and mustache combinations we could have.

Hyurs could be more Nordic similar to Skyrim.
Elezen could have more long elegant designs.
Roe could have access to more scruffy looks.
Miqote could have a mix between scruffy and Nordic styles.
Lala could have more Asian inspired styles.

There needs to be more customization all around, can't really ask more of thing over another.

IMO it adds to distinction and differentiality (that is not a word but I couldn't think of a proper word lmao). It's kind of like that Races Brand. For Example as a female roe, I love the race/gender specific hair styles we get, it adds to our diversity and makes us that much more different. I would be upset if other races got our hair styles. But that's just me.
